Winchester Red Posted 2 September, 2012 Posted 2 September, 2012 (edited) Do we not have MotM polls when we lose? Puncheon for me anyway. If he played half that well with that much effort every week I'd give him a long long contract Edited 2 September, 2012 by Winchester Red
CanadaSaint Posted 2 September, 2012 Posted 2 September, 2012 Schneiderlin was superb but he has a lot of competition for MOTM.
Saint Martini Posted 2 September, 2012 Posted 2 September, 2012 Schneiderlin was very good aswell. But my vote goes to Puncheon. He kept Evra quiet all game, was very calm in possession and but took his direct opponent on when the opportunity was there. Great assist and if not for a big save from Lindegaard he would have scored the 3-1.
lordswoodsaints Posted 2 September, 2012 Posted 2 September, 2012 For them obviously rvp but for us Morgan by a country mile
Winchester Red Posted 2 September, 2012 Author Posted 2 September, 2012 Difficult choice isn't it Punch, MS and JWP were great. Lambert, Lallana and Davis weren't too shoddy either. Hope Mr Ramirez knows what he has to do to get a place in the team now (and no, it isn't learn how to play centre back!)
Dig Dig Posted 2 September, 2012 Posted 2 September, 2012 Morgan was immense and gets the nod from me. JWP, Lallana and Punch were also outstanding
ladysaint Posted 2 September, 2012 Posted 2 September, 2012 Morgan was outstanding today and a rare goal.
Olallana Posted 2 September, 2012 Posted 2 September, 2012 Morgan by far.......as in the other two games! Always provide a passing option for teammates, great control of the ball when in possession. First name on the team sheet every week for me.
Amesbury Saint Posted 2 September, 2012 Posted 2 September, 2012 Punch for me, although the manager comes second for his substitutions. Changed the match!
Golac's Cunning Stunts Posted 2 September, 2012 Posted 2 September, 2012 Morgan will be looking at a place for les bleus soon. Great performance. But Punch for me. He has had a torrid time albeit of his own making. He is now showing he is a man and stepping up to the mark. Couldn't have asked more from him today.
Wiggles31 Posted 2 September, 2012 Posted 2 September, 2012 Morgan all day. Best performance in a Saints shirt from him. Made Cleverley look completely average.... Which he is anyway tbh.
S-Clarke Posted 2 September, 2012 Posted 2 September, 2012 Morgan ran the show, him and W-P bossed the midfield. Made Carrick look like an idiot. Terrific young players.
Winchester Red Posted 2 September, 2012 Author Posted 2 September, 2012 Done Thank you very much Much appreciated
Edmonton Saint Posted 2 September, 2012 Posted 2 September, 2012 Schniederlin was class today. Worked his socks off. Motm by a mile.
Viking Saint Posted 2 September, 2012 Posted 2 September, 2012 always felt Schneiderlin would shine in the Premiership and really showed his class today......
Avenue Saint Posted 2 September, 2012 Posted 2 September, 2012 Morgan will be looking at a place for les bleus soon. Great performance. But Punch for me. He has had a torrid time albeit of his own making. He is now showing he is a man and stepping up to the mark. Couldn't have asked more from him today. Very true. Was absolute class. Haven't had many opportunities to say this in the past for him so let him bask in it today, has rightly earned the plaudits. Man of the match son!
Under Weststand Posted 2 September, 2012 Posted 2 September, 2012 I thought Puncheon was outstanding today, just outshining Schniederlin. So my MOM is Puncheon. I thought the whole top six were magnificent today.
thefuriousb Posted 2 September, 2012 Posted 2 September, 2012 Morgan. Special mentions to Davis, JWP and Puncheon As welll as the trademark 40 yard passes, Morgan covered so much ground - closing down, tackles, interceptions. It was the complete midfield performance
Saint Garrett Posted 2 September, 2012 Posted 2 September, 2012 Morgan MoM. JWP and Punch also had superb games.
St BATman Posted 2 September, 2012 Posted 2 September, 2012 Schneiderlin was the best player on the park. Bossed it for us in possession and kept Kagawa very quiet. Also thought JWP, Davis Lallana, Lambert and Puncheon were excellent. The midfield 3 looked very special as a trio and having Lallana that much further up the pitch made a difference. Fox worries me slightly, he plays so narrow it's scary and it really gave Valencia all the time in the world to pick a cross. Clyne on the other hand looks a steal at £2m
Chez Posted 2 September, 2012 Posted 2 September, 2012 Morgan was once again outstanding. Remind me again which of you were saying as recent as last season that they couldn't see what he does? Top top player. Game is usually won and lost in the middle of the park and we have a couple of players in Prowse and Morgan that are going to keep us competitive all season.
Mmm Donuts Posted 2 September, 2012 Posted 2 September, 2012 Morgan for me, although SRL came a close second. Not too pleased at the substitutions, but will read more about them tomorrow as I've only just got in.
Chez Posted 2 September, 2012 Posted 2 September, 2012 Clyne on the other hand looks a steal at £2m is this the tribunal figure, because it's going to keep rising if it hasn't been agreed yet as he is putting in some great displays. He's a much better player than I gave him credit for having seen him a few times.
Winchester Red Posted 2 September, 2012 Author Posted 2 September, 2012 Morgan was excellent - now watch Fergie make an offer for him in January. He was better than anyone in their midfield
rick1976.4.38 Posted 2 September, 2012 Posted 2 September, 2012 morgan was outstanding today but punch wasnt too far behind
Golac's Cunning Stunts Posted 2 September, 2012 Posted 2 September, 2012 is this the tribunal figure, because it's going to keep rising if it hasn't been agreed yet as he is putting in some great displays. He's a much better player than I gave him credit for having seen him a few times. I paid £4m for him in the fantasy league. Unfortunately the points he has been awarded don't reflect his overall performances. Apart from the slip up today which unfortunately at this level get punished, he had a great game
St BATman Posted 2 September, 2012 Posted 2 September, 2012 to be honest I have no idea! Just believing what I read/hear. Even at £5m I think he would be cheap. Couldn't agree more with the assessment of Moran and JWP, and with Davis alongside they look a fantastic midfield trio. Given his performances so far this season I'm baffled that we didn't see more of young Ward-Prowse last year.

Raging Bull Posted 2 September, 2012 Posted 2 September, 2012 Voted J W-P due to the kids age. We have a very good CM in the making in our team, buzzing for the lad.
Kingsland Red Posted 2 September, 2012 Posted 2 September, 2012 Spiderman won so much ball in the midfield today he was MoM before he scored. Class act. Still to understand how those Dutch jokers got him on board.
sandwichsaint Posted 2 September, 2012 Posted 2 September, 2012 Thank god for that! Just voted blind for Morgan and glad to see he is winning by miles .... maybe we'll have less of those 'but what does he do?' posts this season. Really tough competition today from JWP, SD, AL and RL, but MS looked the real deal today.
OLDER BUT WISER Posted 2 September, 2012 Posted 2 September, 2012 One Morgan Schneidrelin theres only one Morgan Schneiderlin......
Bensfcno1 Posted 2 September, 2012 Posted 2 September, 2012 Morgan and we need a song for him! Even if it is just the rasiak tune! He's one of if not our best player and been around for years now! MORGAN SCHNEIDERLIN, SCHNEIDERLIN, MORGAN SCHNEIDERLIN!
Wade Garrett Posted 2 September, 2012 Posted 2 September, 2012 I think you could make a case for any of the midfield or forwards. I'll go for Morgan, although for a 17 year old, Ward-Prowse was absolutely superb. I didn't think he would last the pace over 90 minutes, but he proved me wrong.
Noodles34 Posted 2 September, 2012 Posted 2 September, 2012 never thought i would vote for Puncheon, but just have, terrorisied them.... until he came off!
pingwing Posted 2 September, 2012 Posted 2 September, 2012 Morg was excellent but Ward-Prowse has to be Motm today, 90 mins of being an absolute work horse, was great on the ball, great off it and Lambert should have taken one less touch to put him in for 3-1. Cannot wait to see him play now Oh and Punch turned into a world class player for the first 65 mins, no idea why he shot just before he was subbed though, but was really exciting to watch!
Roger Posted 2 September, 2012 Posted 2 September, 2012 Voted J W-P due to the kids age. We have a very good CM in the making in our team, buzzing for the lad. Played very well but at fault for second goal.
VectisSaint Posted 2 September, 2012 Posted 2 September, 2012 Morgan was MOTM, and that deffo includes RvP. Even without his goal he would have been MOTM. Absolutely brilliant breaking up play, so many tackles won and then setting the play on its way often with a simple pass. Was completely responsible for the first goal, even though someone else (Punch?) will get the assist. You can always tell when someone if bossing midfield when the opposition start targeting him and taking him out, pity the excuse for the ref missed one or two of those, I imaging Morgan's ankles will be black & blue in the morning. Thought Punch was excellent today as well.
VectisSaint Posted 2 September, 2012 Posted 2 September, 2012 Morgan was once again outstanding. Remind me again which of you were saying as recent as last season that they couldn't see what he does? Same people who used to say similar things about Matt Oakley. People who know nowt about football.
SNSUN Posted 2 September, 2012 Posted 2 September, 2012 Went to the game, stuck in traffic, got home, rewatched whole game on Sky +, watched highlights again on MOTD2. Puncheon was outstanding. Everything good went through him. Lallana had a solid game but needed a better finishing touch. Lambert as good as he ever is. Morgan was outstanding too and capped it with a great header. Steven Davis went under the radar but was solid too, a few attacking moves went through him. Apart from falling over a lot, Clyne was good at right back too and linked well with Punch. Fox was far from MOTM but he was better than what I saw against Man City. MOTM for me though goes to JWP. He's fricking 17, playing against the country's biggest team, and he's put in a fantastic performance. Puncheon or Morgan perhaps will win the plaudits, but this is my vote, and for someone who looked like he's played for years, he gets it. Well done James.
Rasiak-9- Posted 2 September, 2012 Posted 2 September, 2012 Morgan will be looking at a place for les bleus soon. Yup. Me and my mates were saying the same thing today. Would thoroughly deserve a call-up.
ALWAYS_SFC Posted 3 September, 2012 Posted 3 September, 2012 Morgan...Best ever performance in a Saints shirt...
