Manc Fan punched in the corporates

Guided Missile

Recommended Posts

Ha ha, what a tool.

What were the numbers like in the corporates and boxes, GM; was it full? The attendance was 1,000 short of capacity so I'm guessing not.

Mate, I wasn't in the corporates. I was in my usual spot just behind the bench. I have two ST's in the corporate area, which I let my mate have. I just happened to look back after the goal and this guy was jumping up and down and waving at the fans behind him. He suddenly got punched on his back and then all the stewards ran over.

On the capacity point, the corporates in block 5 have quite a bit of extra space. The seats close to block 4 are quite empty (rough guess, 300 empty seats).

I gather the reason for this is that the new "club lounge" membership is at its max for fire or health & safety regs or some such. So, the club could sell these seats - but have no easy way to actually get people to them (and nowhere to put these people pre match/post match/half time...or no way of stopping them getting into the club lounge at these times if they sold these seats separately).

I'm told the club is appealing the ruling from the relevant quango/govt body.

Saw a Japanese man with a nosebleed outside the noodle bar. Shouldn't have bought a shirt with Yoshida on the back and waved his "Southampton/Manchester United" scarf.

Are you saying he got a nosebleed due to vigorous scarf waving which was silly of him to do after having bought a new saints shirt?

Just shouldn't have jumped up and waved his arms at the home fans when the 3rd goal went in. Well done to the bloke that cracked him one.

legend to whoever it was. dirty ****s

Now that is a 'positive' I can take from the game.

Good.

Good to hear.

Glad hear the ****s were dealt with one way or another.

Glad we either grassed on them to get them kicked out or gave them a good kicking. Either will do but preferably the 2nd option.

Good work. I hope it was a haymaker that landed flush

Good.

I detest those glory seeking f^ckers more than I hate Pompey.

I'm amazed so many of you condone violence for something which less face it is hardly serious. Yes, what he did was daft, but that doesn't mean he should be physically assaulted!

It makes me laugh people moaning about man u fans not being local! Did u listen to them today (not that you couldn't if u Wer ther) but ther manc accent which rings out with ther songs gives it away that most are from Manchester! Is we sung half as loud at them this season I'd be happy! Ther songs are unique and funny in places, plus they app know them and sing together! Our home support is shocking!

Evening classes should help.

Until the end we made a lot more noise than them today

Does.

Agreed. Its unacceptable and fully deserving of a whack.

Remember Plymouth away in L1 promotion season.

Their fans to our right were circling any Saints fan who cheered in their end before giving them a good hiding.

I remember thinking I'd like to see similar punishment dished out at St Mary's should an away fan have the audacity to cheer in the home end... And I'm glad it was to an extent today.

This. In recent decades we have been far too friendly and 'reasonable'.

An "expected outcome", doesn't make it right though does it? Punched for celebrating a goal amongst rival fans! It is a criminal act yet a large number in this thread think it is fine.

Shut up you tool.

Technically obviously it isn't fine, but if you chirp up in the home end when supporting the away side you deserve a slap.

Shocking read here.

Since when is it OK to assault someone who's just watching a game of football just like me and you ?

If he's celebrating the wrong team in the wrong end, let him be tossed out and good it is.

There simply is not a single good reason to attack someone at a football match.

I cannot possibly condone violence, but some people just ask for trouble.

Yep; it may not be "right" but quite frankly, what do you expect if you take such liberties in the home end? Its idiotic to think you can get away with behaving like that, whether its ultimately right or not.

United's support was the worst I've seen it at our place before. From the Itchen I could hear the Northam over United when both sets were singing. Itchen North was half decent today, don't know why most people want to sit down though. The club have strategically placed these 'complimentary' tickets in block 3 to stop that section standing I think.

One of my only issues with being in Itchen North, is this. Would love to stand, but all those around have differing views.

Not today it wasn't. It was against Wigan though. After we went 2-1 up today the ground was really rocking like I had never heard it before, apart from perhaps against the Skates.

BTW just because the Muftis sound like they're from Manchester means nothing, I could put on a Manc accent reasonably easily, or at least what would sound like one.

There were plenty of seats free at the back of block 3 that could be stood in that you could go and stand in if you fancied it, or you could squeeze in somewhere in block 1 or 2.

My other gripe about the Itchen North.. In the past when it's been open for big games then most of blocks 1/2 stand, well over half. Now it's only the back few rows. Must just be down to newcomers that didn't know what that part of the ground was about? Annoying really.

Man Utd away support is always good because they are all macs and as someone said before their songs are original and well sung, they have a hard core away support that follow them everywhere. A Man U fan celebrating in a home enclosure is probably from our area and doesn't know the etiquette of being in an away end and acting accordingly, ie keep schtum and enjoy the result in your mind rather than celebrating which then deserves a slap. Fair play to Neville for praising our vocal support, this coming from a true manc.
