The Kraken Posted 2 September, 2012 Share Posted 2 September, 2012 OK, zero points from the opening 3 games is worrying stuff, but we knew it was a tough start. How does it compare against last season's promoted teams in terms of the opposition we've faced? Manchester City 5 - 1 Norwich Norwich 1 - 1 Wigan Norwich 1 - 2 Manchester United Manchester City 4 - 0 Swansea Swansea 0 - 0 Wigan Swansea 0 - 1 Manchester United Manchester City 3 - 2 QPR QPR 3 - 1 Wigan QPR 0 - 2 Manchester United So from the same games last season Norwich and Swansea had 1 point, QPR had 3. Its up for us to go to Arsenal and get a point, then the season can properly get into gear.
Glasgow_Saint Posted 2 September, 2012 Share Posted 2 September, 2012 We could be relegated by xmas...... Failure to improve the defence and GK will cost us alot of points this season.
Saint_Randell Posted 2 September, 2012 Share Posted 2 September, 2012 What were the first three results of the season for each team?
The Kraken Posted 2 September, 2012 Author Share Posted 2 September, 2012 QPR lost their first 3 games (Bolton, Everton, Wigan). Norwich 2 draws (Wigan, Stoke), 1 defeat (Chelsea). Swansea 2 draws (Wigan, Sunderland), 1 defeat (Manchester City).

Seaside Saint 2 Posted 2 September, 2012 Share Posted 2 September, 2012 QPR beat Everton in their second game last year, but I'd look more at the Norwich and Swansea stats as we are a more similar team to them than QPR.

Yep, my bad, read that one wrong....! Anything next game at arsenal is a bonus, but we really need to be picking up significant points in the home games against Villa and Fulham. If not, we'll be in massive trouble (and I think NA will be out of a job).

adrian lord Posted 2 September, 2012 Share Posted 2 September, 2012 This first month or so is quite aberrant in terms of fixtures, and even without that aspect, the season doesn't bed in until October. We have played some great stuff but been learning some salutary lessons so far. Defence is the key problem area still not adequately addressed. Worry if we are bottom or thereabouts Jan 1st 2013. Worry a lot more if we are bottom or thereabouts 19th May 2013.
