Absolutely sickening. Schneiderlin, S Davis, Puncheon, Lallana & Lambert put in performances probably as good as they'll manage all season. JWP also acquitted himself very well. Clyne was decent apart from the slip, Fonte and Hooiveld did about as well as you could expect, but Fox was awful.

Going forward brilliant, at the back very poor. Defend properly, do the basics and close out the game. You get punished in this league as the teams will take the opportunity especially when you make mistakes. That is 3 times now, it is time to learn from it at get some solidity at the back.

Cant even begin to explain how angry and annoyed at that. Where the hell did 4 mins extra time come from.??

THe players can take heart that they gave UTD a bloody good game but also that they gave the game away. ZONAL MARKING DOES NOT WORK!! VP was clear of Fonte before he could even react. Man marking HAS to be the way when inside the box.

Gutted but yet again we have shown we can play football against the best. Still a lot of $$ to come onto the pitch for the arsenal game. Forward 3 were awesome but spiderman was immense. Gazza deserves a game and someone buy Nathaniel some studs for his boots.

The positives are that we can cause trouble in attack. A really spirited performance and now two weeks to get the new players moulded in. I am still very confident we will turn it around. The work rate was impressive but I would say it all looks too much for Fonte. Bring on the Japanese.

The whole back line was at fault today, I'll let Clyne off though as it was his boots. I hope Yoshi turns out a class act, otherwise we may continue to leak goals.

Although we managed to give United and city a good game it's disappointing throwing away leads regardless of who it's against. Just hope we don't have too many results like that.

Not really sure what Davis did wrong there, other than give away a pen which he saved. I think ppl bring their prejudices into the game and look to confirm what they expected to happen.

Why oh why when you're a goal up against Man U with 10 mins to go do you replace your 3 attacking players? They must have had 7 touches combined!

Come on, lets not have too much wrist slitting. If he hadn't made those subs you'd all be moaning, Fonte was playing against a player who cost almost as much as our side and MU know they've been in a game. Look at the flaming positives instead of focussing just on the negatives. You can't just defend against a team as good as that. I know KD and JF aren't the best in those positions, but stop picking on players. I'm deeply, deeply disappointed; p****d off in fact, but in terms of performance that would've beaten most teams.

We're going to be this season's Blackpool.

'Oh how unlucky', 'What a breath of fresh air', 'Won't change their philosophy that has served them so well"

Relegated.

Maybe. Blackpool didn't sign £12m wonderkids though.

Very disappointed................but proud, very proud. We played them like a Premiership team. Losing to both Manchesters 3-2 is a triumph in itself.

Can't comment too much about the Subs, but if we hadn't we would be moaning about tired legs. I think we made a mistake, but hindsight is a wonderful thing.

If we can play like this against the rest, with our new additions, we can start to make our mark.

very poor decisions by Adkins (don't think i've ever said that) front 3 were causing UTD all kinds of problems... a bit harsh attacking Fonte, KD poor today. JWP and Punch were outstanding.

First off well played lads, they were awesome. Clyne, Lallana, Lambert and my motm Puncheon. They were so good and watching them at times made you feel proud at the way they were playing. To lose 2-3 after that is harsh.

BUT

There is no-one to blame but Adkins for that result. This isn't an Adkins out thing so don't get it wrong....But the three things that were working was Lambert,Puncheon and Lallana. They were struggling to stop them getting forward. Why the **** did Adkins change the three things that were going right? That is up there with the most barmy decisions I have seen as a Saints fan. I can understand taking Rickie off as maybe he was knackered but the others seemed fine. Why switch to an all out defence with basically 20 mins to go? We went from attacking and giving them problems to giving them the ball for the last 20mins and hoping they don't score.

When things go right and managers make the right decisions then they should be praised but when they get it wrong they deserve criticism.

Davis did well with the penalty but again his kicking and long distance saving is woeful.

I just can't believe Adkins...

Good display but given we've capitulated so badly twice in three games I do fear a big struggle this season. You can't handwave that sort of thing away because its Man City or United it's just not acceptable.
