Cheese on Toast Posted 2 September, 2012 Posted 2 September, 2012 Just wondering, will it only be teams close to southampton and big teams that sell out away? Just wondering how easy it will be to get tickets for away games?
Glasgow_Saint Posted 2 September, 2012 Posted 2 September, 2012 Easy! Man city away good example...... Over 1,000 unsold
Nexstar Posted 2 September, 2012 Posted 2 September, 2012 I think any games more northern than the likes of WBA/Norwich should be fairly easy to get tickets for.
Matthew Le God Posted 2 September, 2012 Posted 2 September, 2012 Easy! Man city away good example...... Over 1,000 unsold Not true, we sold over 2,500 of the 2,800 allocation.

I was planning to go to WBA away, I imagine that should be relatively easy as it's on tv and on a monday night, what do you think?
Glasgow_Saint Posted 2 September, 2012 Posted 2 September, 2012 Not true, we sold over 2,500 of the 2,800 allocation. Obviously sold a load and people didnt turn up (same as Wigan game) because there was more than 300 empty seats!!! Where have you seen 2,500 sold?

itchen Posted 2 September, 2012 Posted 2 September, 2012 Easy! Man city away good example...... Over 1,000 unsold I rarely go to away games but was seriously considering a weekend in Manchester for that one. Then it was moved to Sunday and the thought of travelling back immediately after the match in time to work the next day did not appeal. I imagine that many people thought the same. That, and the match being live on TV, probably accounted for any shortfall in away sales.

I agree there was contributing factors, but on the flip it was our 1st game back in the prem and vs prem winners...... My point is simply if we didnt sell out for that, we are unlikely to sell out many (london games excl)
Matthew Le God Posted 2 September, 2012 Posted 2 September, 2012 Obviously sold a load and people didnt turn up (same as Wigan game) because there was more than 300 empty seats!!! Where have you seen 2,500 sold? Top tier was full, as was the front of the lower tier. It was only the back of the lower tier that had empty seats, looked worse when we scored with camera panning onto our fans and everyone rushed to the front leaving gaps behind. Journalists in build up to the game said 2,500 sold as of a couple of days beforehand. Did you see QPR at Man City yesterday? In the lower tier they were even confined to one block as they didn't get remotely near filling the allocation. I wonder what Flyer thinks of that...

Again very poor from them. Id be surprised if we sold 2,500 but pleased if we did

There was a sold out upper tier which everyone has ignored so you are wrong yet again.
Glasgow_Saint Posted 2 September, 2012 Posted 2 September, 2012 I remember when we were in the championship with QPR - they bought about 400 the 1st season, the next summer they had the big takeover and suddenly found an extra 2,500 fans haha

suewhistle Posted 2 September, 2012 Posted 2 September, 2012 I'm not surprised we didn't sell out Citeh. I went as it was part of my holiday and was visiting friends up North, but at 4pm on a Sunday (with work the day after), live on TV and at £51 a pop I'm not surprised. A Saturday game, a night out in Mancs and a leisurely trip back on the Sunday would have appealed to far more. I'll be over for Christmas but, public transport being what it is I'm going to find it difficult to get to any games. Is anybody likely to go to the Boxing Day game against Fulham from the Thames Valley?? Maybe I'll just do Stoke away on the 29th: real tourist destination that, isn't it!
The Kraken Posted 2 September, 2012 Posted 2 September, 2012 Not true, we sold over 2,500 of the 2,800 allocation. I highly doubt that. Can't find a great picture of the away end, but that empty block of seats ran across the whole of the bottom tier and there was also a small block of empty seats down the bottom behind the goal. So I'd suggest there's more than 300 empty seats in the entire stand, probably around 2,300 in total IMO.

Just wondering how easy it will be to get tickets for away games? ignore all the im better than you on here and we take more than you away when it comes to london games it will be nigh on impossible, just keep checking on here incase anyone cant go on the day. anything north of watford and youll be fine, hth
Griffo Posted 2 September, 2012 Posted 2 September, 2012 Not true, we sold over 2,500 of the 2,800 allocation. I presume you weren't there then. Well I know for a fact you weren't if you thought we had anything near 2,500 there.
