I wouldn't have minded Villa, Swansea and Fulham, two at home, to start with.

I agree we'll be bottom, but this is almost our "bonus" part of the season.

I do agree...IMO when you first come up, games against man city, arsenal and UTD are "free hits" just a shame we will have to look at the table like that and have everyone tell us we are crap, wasted all our money and are going down etc

Just focus on our performances and over the course of the season we'll get a better idea how well teams are doing. Way too early to pay much attention to anyone but ourselves right now.

It's gonna be extremely harsh on the club and Adkins that most probably after the Arsenal game we are still pointless but when you put our start into context and compare it to the rest of the league, no one else comes close to the quality of opposition we have had to face. We just need to accept it, and wait until the rest of the league have their tough spell and we need to make the most of it from our point of view.

No need to panic. Already accepted the fact we're likely to be struggling and likely be bottom after 6 or so games. I am however expecting to start rattling the points on the board after those fixtures with a win IMO against Fulham at home, get some points at West Ham, get something against Tottenham after their poor start and AVB destroying and remoulding the squad, WBA potential point, Swansea will be difficult but be able to get something at QPR and we'll be on our way.

The international break will do the group the world of good IMO. Gives everyone a chance to reflect on the first 3 games, performance wise, get some training in with the lads who arent away on duty and get Ramirez, Mayuka, Yoshida etc involved and ready for the Arsenal game. Get a few games under their belt and by the time we face Everton or Fulham, the squad will be much more comfortable with the formation and much stronger.

EDIT: At the start of each season, I do a spreadsheet and predict our points as soon as the fixtures come out. I just went back and checked and realised I had us down to lose to City (correct), beat Wigan (wrong), lose to Utd and Arsenal and get a point at Villa and Everton. That totals to a predicted 5 points after August and September. So far we still have 0 but I would now go as far to say that we'll beat Villa away after their start but get nothing at Everton. Still get 3 points after 6 games. Only 2 off my prediction. I then have us to get 14 points from October and November, exactly where I just said we will being to start racking up the points. Overall, I have us finishing on 47 points - enough to stay up. Don't forget, I did this as soon as the fixtures came out and havent touched it since so with the new players we've brought in, we could end up doing a bit better than that.

The fact is that after the Arsenal game we should at least have 3 points but we blew our best chance against Wigan.

Got a feeling we'll turn them over at The Emirates

Fulham look like relegation fodder to me.

Bet you what ever you want (money wise) they will not be relegated this year! Interested?

Even though they only drew, Wigan "out-possessioned" Stoke 68/32. IMO they are a much better side than people on here were giving them credit for last week, so our loss - though really disappointing - wasn't quite that bad.

Fulham look to be in big trouble.

AVB has a good chance of being paid more not to manage teams than he was ever paid to manage them.

You can say what you want about possession and Wigan, fact was they were awful last week. Only thing they had was clinical finishing, twice, and even one of those was a gift when it really didn't matter. They may be reasonably well organised in defence but they were woeful. Trouble is we were even worse.

"Awful" and "woeful"? I don't think so, and I watched the match twice. They took 23 out of 33 points at the end of last season for good reason. IMO they are well organized and very well managed. They may be unfashionable, they may not have a big budget, and they may not have any real "stars", but they are not the crap team that some people are so quick to accuse them of being. And we actually played much better than some would have us believe in the post-match discussion. Still, that's just my opinion.
