A potential thread for the lazy, and one where the resident stattos can use their knowledge for good...

 

Suggest one of our rumoured transfer targets from this recent window and let another user come along and tell us where they ended up.

 

I'll start with Curtis Davies please. Where did he end up or did he stay put?

Stayed at Birmingham. Obviously not the future of England's defence then.

 

Benayoun went to West Ham on loan (that's a freebie), apparently several Premier League clubs came in for him but he wanted to go back there, plus they were willing to pay a higher % of his wages.

 

What about Butland? Heard at the death that Everton were in for him...?

One of the 'agents' on Twitter was saying Everton were in for Butland late yesterday and that his asking price had apparently dropped to £6m from £12m being quoted earlier in the window. If true, this would suggest that Brum were keener to sell than they had first appeared but that they were just perhaps a little too greedy. Perhaps Saints' valuation of the player was, in fact, about right?

 

What happened to Scott Dann. Did he stay put?

Scott Dann stayed put, I think we were interested to a degree but I kind of get the feeling that if he had of arrived late in the window he'd have had an element of panic about him. But we don't seem to do that, we just bide our time for the right player(s). I imagine the few short comings we have now, will be addressed in January and I believe our current squad is enough to get us through to then.

I bet their agents were happy with that lol. Perhaps the phone didn't ring and he is just saying that to try and keep their value up

Nope. He's one who seems to have been well and truly frozen out and yet he hasn't even been sent on loan. Seems a little unfortunate.

Yes, that seemed a little odd to me as well. He's a decent player who could do a job in L1 or the champ, wonder why he hasn't moved on to pastures new.

Last I heard about him, he was trying to secure Malaysian citizenship in order to play for the national team. Very random!?

IIRC Dickson's twitter outburst a few months back seemed, with a bit of reading between the lines, to be about the club refusing to pay a share of his wages to let him go out on loan. His choices were a permanent transfer or take his wages and not play. I think his complaint was something like "Even though I'm not involved I just want to play but they won't let me".

What about all those defenders? Kana Biyick (sp?) Boilesen? What other ones were there?
