Aura Posted 31 August, 2012 Posted 31 August, 2012 Pass not our age bracket and probably on a lot of coin
FairWeather Posted 31 August, 2012 Posted 31 August, 2012 Enquired today apparently. Thoughts? Did we tell him "No thanks"?
Saint Charlie Posted 31 August, 2012 Posted 31 August, 2012 Benayoun would certainly add to our team, very clever technical player who can unlock defences. Quite amazed people wouldnt think a loan move for him would be good?
Griffo Posted 31 August, 2012 Posted 31 August, 2012 Morons, he's played for top clubs and played well for Arsenal last season on loan and we're saying we wouldn't take him.. F*cking hell.
Papa Shango Posted 31 August, 2012 Posted 31 August, 2012 Can't believe some are writing him off. A lot better than what we've already got.
Saint Garrett Posted 31 August, 2012 Posted 31 August, 2012 Morons, he's played for top clubs and played well for Arsenal last season on loan and we're saying we wouldn't take him.. F*cking hell. Francis Jeffers has played for Arsenal.
Golden Balls Posted 31 August, 2012 Posted 31 August, 2012 Morons, he's played for top clubs and played well for Arsenal last season on loan and we're saying we wouldn't take him.. F*cking hell. Very strange isnt it. He's a classy player and would only improve us.
Golden Balls Posted 31 August, 2012 Posted 31 August, 2012 god forbid someone have a different opinion to you He's right though
SuperSAINT Posted 31 August, 2012 Posted 31 August, 2012 I'd take him onboard. Could play in any of the 3 positions behind the front man. Better than Guly & Puncheon who have both started games for us.
Whitey Grandad Posted 31 August, 2012 Posted 31 August, 2012 Yes please, bite his hand off. Just make sure you don't touch his legs.
The Kraken Posted 31 August, 2012 Posted 31 August, 2012 Francis Jeffers has played for Arsenal. Yes that's exactly the same thing. He's only just turned 32 so would be a thoroughly decent short-term signing.
EBS1980 Posted 31 August, 2012 Posted 31 August, 2012 So we say we need some premiership experience, and when someone with it in the form of Liverpool, Chelsea, Arsenal and West Ham we write them off. crazy! If on loan then hell yeah.
Griffo Posted 31 August, 2012 Posted 31 August, 2012 Francis Jeffers has played for Arsenal. Okay, thanks for that.
Avenue Saint Posted 31 August, 2012 Author Posted 31 August, 2012 @NabilHassan79: #saintsfc have contacted Chelsea over availability of Yossi Benayoun. QPR & Stoke also showing interest. via @bbcsport_david
Papa Shango Posted 31 August, 2012 Posted 31 August, 2012 I'd take him onboard. Could play in any of the 3 positions behind the front man. Better than Guly & Puncheon who have both started games for us. This. Miles better than the likes of Guly, Puncheon and Chaplow.
Wes Tender Posted 31 August, 2012 Posted 31 August, 2012 I'd certainly think him a good addition. Very similar to another Israeli player we used to have, Berkovic, but seemingly without the attitude problems that he was associated with.
Le Timmier Posted 31 August, 2012 Posted 31 August, 2012 Francis Jeffers has played for Arsenal. Francis Jeffers didn't play (and score) in the Champions League last season
Saint Garrett Posted 31 August, 2012 Posted 31 August, 2012 If it's a loan and we're not paying him more than £25k a week, then yes take him, but if we have to cover the £80k a week that he's on now, then no I don't want him anywhere near this club.
sotonist Posted 31 August, 2012 Posted 31 August, 2012 A good alternative to the now unavailable Del Piero. I hope that's all it is.
St Jim Posted 31 August, 2012 Posted 31 August, 2012 Would he improve the team? Without a doubt! Anyone who doesn't want him at the club needs a reality check - our team isn't top 6 material yet.
Fozzybear Posted 31 August, 2012 Posted 31 August, 2012 QPR interested!?! No way!! This. I expect they are willing to offer ridiculous wages
niceandfriendly Posted 31 August, 2012 Posted 31 August, 2012 Would be fantastic if we signed him on loan.
RobM Posted 31 August, 2012 Posted 31 August, 2012 That sort of experience would be a bonus to our relatively young squad. Any Prem experience we can bring in can only be a good thing... the fact he is a very good player who will genuinely add quality is a nice bonus.
Giordano Posted 31 August, 2012 Posted 31 August, 2012 Quality player, experienced EPL player, could teach our kids stuff. Can play in a 4-4-1-1 no problem as he is very mobile, intelligent and with good technical skills.... Smart move if we got him. Means even less playing time for Chappers, SDR, JWP, Puncheon, Sharp, Guly and even Rodriguez.
Ian the Red Posted 31 August, 2012 Posted 31 August, 2012 Simon Peach@SimonPeach #SaintsFC reportedly after #CFC's @YossiBenayoun15. Would be a superb addition. Experience could prove invaluable. As peach says experience woud be invaluable!! Yes please!
RobM Posted 31 August, 2012 Posted 31 August, 2012 I can't honestly see Chappers, SDR and Punch being here past the Jan transfer window, so less playing time for them doesn't seem a huge concern.
Under Weststand Posted 31 August, 2012 Posted 31 August, 2012 A loan move hell yes what's not to like about this. Excellent technical player fits right into the style of play we are trying to implement. Also gives us that little bit extra prem experience.
Toadhall Saint Posted 31 August, 2012 Posted 31 August, 2012 A loan move hell yes what's not to like about this. Excellent technical player fits right into the style of play we are trying to implement. Also gives us that little bit extra prem experience. Ditto
Saint_Randell Posted 31 August, 2012 Posted 31 August, 2012 If it's a loan and we're not paying him more than £25k a week, then yes take him, but if we have to cover the £80k a week that he's on now, then no I don't want him anywhere near this club. Whose to say he's on 80k a week? One of those players who gives his all every game anyway, very rarely let's you down
Sidney Fudpucker the 3rd Posted 31 August, 2012 Posted 31 August, 2012 Exactly. We've signed nothing but championship standard players. We sign J-Rod. WHU get Carroll. I know who I'd rather have had. That's a real statement of intent from West Ham and exactly the sort of thing Saints should be looking to do if they're serious about staying up.
Beachcombers Windowsill Posted 31 August, 2012 Posted 31 August, 2012 Pass not our age bracket and probably on a lot of coin Why is everyone so obsessed with with this 'young and hungry' age bracket? We need a blend, not a team of under 25's.
Saint Garrett Posted 31 August, 2012 Posted 31 August, 2012 Exactly. We've signed nothing but championship standard players. We sign J-Rod. WHU get Carroll. I know who I'd rather have had. Carroll would be **** if he signed for us as he has the touch of a rapist.
