Pilchards Posted 30 August, 2012 Share Posted 30 August, 2012 If Raminez never spouted off we would not of known how difficult it was to capture a player from another club. Very often fans on forums talk about why it takes so long etc..... For all we know the club could possibly have another deal lined up for a CB/LB which is also as difficult as the Raminez one, perhaps it's time to give those that are setting up the deals more credit in future? Colinjb Posted 30 August, 2012 Share Posted 30 August, 2012 Quite, just because things appear quiet it doesn't mean there is no activity. The club is simply being professional about how it conducts itself. They are however truly damned if they do and damned if they don't. If information was leaked all the time we would appear amateur but as things are now there can be a perception of complacency. If the Ramirez transfer does conclude after all this, total credit to all staff involved.
The9 Posted 30 August, 2012 Share Posted 30 August, 2012 How much information was leaked regarding Mayuka ? Having not bothered with the HCDAJFU thread and been on my way to Stevenage for the afternoon I hadn't seen any mention of him even as a target. I saw afterwards that Nixon on Twitter might have flagged it up, but that's some pretty effective low-profile activity.

Can be a hard sell (money aside) i'd imagine to attract a hig profile player to a team that for all intents and purposes will meant to have been languishing near the relegation zone. Credit where its due.
david in sweden Posted 30 August, 2012 Share Posted 30 August, 2012 it takes time .....and often no-one realises it . A lot of patience is required, and keeping things on the boil. We first bid (as I understand it)... .for Billy Sharp last summer (2011), and we all know about the sad personal circumstances that prevented it, but it took 6 months more to land him. ..and Tadanari Lee was on a visit in the Autumn (apparently) ..a photo with NA was shown somewhere, Of course.. we can't sign most players until the "next window" comes, but expressing interest, agreeing fees / salaries ...and then keeping it quiet so that we aren't gazumped must be quite a job...
