Used to be sold by the bridge over the railway line. Has it been discontinued already? Think it only made it to about 3 issues.

Hope it hasn't ceased so soon, but with the Internet providing such an immedaite source for that kind of information do they have any chance at all now?

I didn't see it after September, and didn't buy it after Issue 1.

There was something about the editorial style I didn't like, not sure whether it was too academic, not academic enough or just too unopinionated, but it wasn't really what I was expecting from a fanzine, and not in a good way.

I think it was a little wishy-washy and too "nice". I like my fanzines to contain a bit of idiotic fury balanced by the sensible stuff, a bit of comedy (or attempted comedy) and that gets my buy-in as someone who wants to know what the contributors think. I didn't really get that with the one I read - and if that's the one they've been putting together over a long time, you know the next ones are probably going to be a worse version of that, more thrown together.

Credit to them for giving it a go though, must have been a hell of an effort to just get it out there. We've also been spoiled by some excellent fanzines over time.

Unless you can get one out for every home game and manage to keep the content nearly up to the week, new fanzines are going to struggle against free web content and the logistics must be a pain too.

One of the guys who runs it seems to only tweet about finance these days so I guess he's more concerned with the day job.

All in all, I felt it was a bit bland and lacked its own character. That said, I had an article printed in there for the issue that went on sale just before the Man Utd cup game recalling some of our previous games against Man Utd, and my article was bloody brilliant I reckon.

hahahahahahahahahaha

Funnily enough I also wrote an article for the fanzine which was supposed to be in the next edition that was never produced (at least as far as I am aware it wasn't as I never saw it being sold). It was just after the first season ticket winners meal with the chairman & I worte a report on it. I thought that was bloody brilliant, however the creators obviously thought it was so poor they gave up doing the fanzine all together I guess!

I had a mate who wrote a few things for them and we both joked about how poor their communication was. You wouldn't hear from them for ages and then they'd email you asking if you could knock out a few hundred words on topic x in a few days etc. I guess that's just symptomatic of doing a fanzine as a hobby whilst also trying to complete your education or get a job etc. In the circumstances, it's pretty impressive that they managed to get three (I think that's how many it was) issues printed and released.

I remember thinking the editing of my stuff was odd at times ... stuff I thought was pretty good got chopped whilst bits I thought were lame or dull would get used as pull quotes etc. I guess it's all very subjective!
