John Heitinga could be leaving Everton, would be a great signing for us.

 

He was mentioned a little while ago. Won player of the year for them last season, but seems to be behind Sylvain Distin and Phil Jagielka in the pecking order. Rumour was that Fenerbace were in for him.

Still can't believe Dawson isn't on our radar. Those decrying his form and availability should check his wiki page.

 

Agreed he ain't worth the 9M offered by QPR but who knows what his problem is with them. He may just see a future at SMS on 40K a week.

We should just go and sign Mateo Mussachio from Villareal - supposedly he's a great player, he's the right age and Villareal need the money as they just got relegated.

We're trying for 2 CB's before the close of play, that's what I've been told. We want 2, but we will sign 1 as a certainty - which looks to be Yoshida. The 2nd one is a bit trickier as it links in with what Nixon said earlier this morning.

Wasn't told a name I'm afraid. But we had someone watched at Stoke last night, so possibly narrows it down slightly!

 

Although we may have had many matches watched last night...!

There should be an article online shortly regarding this according to Nixon, which possibly indicates that the interest is serious and has pepped up.

not " a " CB ....but at least TWO .....and PDQ .

 

I'm holding my breath on this one.

 

The idea of getting another left back is history now, but the first rule of team-building has always been " build from the back", so I'm really surprised that former keeper NA... hasn't come up with another experienced keeper to cover / challenge... KD .....especially when you consider quite a few Prem. sides have at least TWO international keepers.....

Considering the number of international teams and they're quality the number of prem teams with good quality international keepers won't be that high.

 

TBH we have KD and Gazzinga (who looks alright) and our youth keeper, Gazzinga looks like he could quite easily take over from KD and if one or both get injured I'm sure we can get an emergency loan in.

 

It's alright saying saying get another quality keeper in, but they cost money, money that wouldn't necessarily be sitting on the bench every week either....

I have been to the Riverside to watch Boro play several times this past year...and Rhys Williams is a quality player with bags of potential. The Boro fans are generally super critical of their players but he has been described by some of them as a 'Rolls Royce' of a footballer...comfortable on the ball, imposing in the air and good in the tackle...

Agree with this, would be a top acquisition IMO as long as he can stay fit.

Looks doubtful though due to an ankle injury but doesnt say how long he is out for...he is better than Curtis Davies IMHO - dont know much about Boilesen though

Can't see any new CB playing this weekend.

 

League games then Arsenal on 15 Sept, Villa 22 Sept, Everton 29 Sept.

 

Even if new signing was month of fitness, he would probably only miss two games that a fully fit signing would play in.

From the way Fonte is playing I dont think we can afford to wait 2-3 weeks ;-)

 

He played well against Man City - I'm more concerned if either Jos or Jose got injured then we would be in the mire.

Fonte is well off the boil and was badly exposed at times in the Championship let alone the Prem. Hoiveld is solid but both lack any pace.

If we sign Yoshida im fine with that,as long as we have another centre halve lined up as well.

 

Ryhs Williams at Boro seems massivley overpriced at £6mill and would smack of desperation and poor scouting to me. The reality is that position should of been sorted 2 months ago as a matter of urgency. You should always build from the back.

When you think the likes of Skyrtel signed for £6mill you can see that £6mill for Williams is crazy.

 

Biyik would of been amazing...certainly Mustachio as well but paying silly money for average domestic players doesn't fly with me.

I have to question the scouting network is Williams at £6 mill is all we can muster

If you look on the boro forum (http://www.oneboro.com) They think he's valued at £12m+. He is good but thats pretty deluded!

 

Last season a proper prem team was linked with him Bolton (yeh yeh relegated) BUT the starting offers stood at aroung 8-10m if Saints managed too but Rhys for £6m when hes our captain on a new 4 year deal I'd actually bomb saint marys (live in pompy) actually can think of a worse team for him to go too but and i use BUT stongly £12-14m and I'll even come watch him in the gay southern end of your stadium!!!

 

We rejected a bid from Bolton in January, I think that offer was 8mil. And we came out and said theres no chance we'll sell him. So you're talking easily 12mil+ I would say.

 

This guy is completely deluded!

 

Soton can do one for £6m. If you are paying over £12m for a lad who scored a free kick In the Olympics you can pay at least that for a class act like Rhys.

 

Course he did, but he is nowhere near the £12m mark! I'd say Steven Fletcher is worth £12m more than Ramirez

Given we only have three senior CBs counting him, perhaps it is a sign we are in for two CBs as NA obviously doesn't think Stephens is ready going by his team selection against Stevenage.
