Utds away support is the best in England bar none.

They are loud & original.

We just clap fast from what I can tell.

Probably true, but strange how they always have a bunch of Happy Monday's types jumping up and down the whole game at the front seats for the camera's. Arrogant team and arrogant supporters. I'd luv it if we turned them over, luv it.

Oh ? Thought Yoshida would have sneaked in too.

No entry permit as yet, hasn't even been to Southampton as far as I can tell, hence nothing much on the OS. Will join up when he returns from Iraq.

Am actually Buzzing for this game and as long as We give it a good go then I will be happy with that as Win, Lose or Draw

am Saints Till I Die!!!

Would be Good to see at least 1 of the new signings to play But We'l See!!!

Would keep the same team that played v Wigan But am not sure whether to play J Rod or not But whatever Adkins decides to

do will be right behind him!!!

Haven't seen anyone post the BBC's match preview on here, but some of it is pretty good writing, giving the context for our last league match against Man U :

Well worth a read, short but good.

I did not know that story about Jonathan Pearce. Always felt he was the most knowledgable commentator. The only one who cares and knows about football below the top division.

I'm probably in the minority but I think it would be classy if Saints did something to recognize Fergie's 1,000th league game.

Not an outrageous suggestion, I am no fan of Fergie as a person, there is much to dislike about his public persona, but his record in football is outstanding by any measure.

Alex Ferguson has only lost 168 games as Man Utd manager and tomorrow will be his 1000th game managing them. That's a hell of a statistic. How many of those 168 were to us?

Not at all mate, I think and would hope the Club has something planned. It's certainly something special!

Jesus, Iraq! Is he in the Japenese TA or something?

We really need to get behind the boys today like never before. Singing about our Nigel as much as possible.

I'd love it if we could sing at the man u fans that "they are only here to see the saints!" like they have sung about us fans seeing them in the past.

If we are winning and a minute to go of injury time.. If we do a countdown from 60 seconds down to 0.

Today is the day for us to get some points!

Couldn't agree more. They know where the cameras are. Don't get this love struck admiration for Manc supporters at all. I remember quite vividly their gloating when we went down.

I've been pottering around the Internet this morning and have gotten myself a little more wound up about this one. Southampton vs Man United is precisely the sort of game I was looking forward to. When they go our way, they're brilliant. When they go our way :)

So yep, big opportunity for all the lads, particularly those who'll be fending off new arrivals, to make their case for continuing selection. That's a good thing. The one stat that keeps winding me up is this "no team that has lost its first three games has survived". I'd love to beat that stat. Would love it even more if we didn't have to.

Sat in the hospitality today, never done it before but am expecting to be surrounded by loads of plastic Mancs. Despite all the free food and drink I'd still rather be in my ST seat in the Northam.

Shame there's no Ramirez or Mayuka, would have fancied our chances.

Mayuka should feature, possibly from the start I've heard. Would be a surprise to throw him right in though!

I've said I'd chuck him in from the start. He's a complete unknown entity to the opposition whereas Adkins and the rest of the coaching team know his strengths. Go for it IMO.

I'd stick him up against Buttner on the right...welcome to the PL.

Ha Ha, he's a complete unknown entity to us as well!!

Yeah because they never hear that anywhere else do they. The majority of United's away support actually comes from Manchester anyway. Quality away supporters who will no doubt outsing us yet again.

If we were generous, we might accept that originally they may have come from Manchester. But the origination of most of the coaches that I have ever seen bringing their fans down to either St Mary's or to the Dell, have hardly ever been from Manchester. Yes, I've seen Truro, Welwyn Garden City, Margate, but hardly ever any that my knowledge of Geography would equate to being within a decent radius of the metropolis. On the way down South from a Saints away match, I once encountered a Lucketts coach in full ManUre livery, emblazoned with the legend "Portsmouth Manchester United supporters."

So were all these supporters people who originally lived in Manchester and sought a life elsewhere, or are they plastics, presumably like the one wearing his ManUre shirt in West End Asda this morning? He got down here early this morning, didn't he?

Rather than chanting "do you come from Manchester", we should be asking "do you come from Tunbridge Wells or wherever the coaches come from?"

Coventry, Southend, (almost) Walsall?

Coventry were already relegated when we played them at the end of last season. I remember a Wayne Bridge free kick sent Wimbledon down when we were playing at The Dell.

Need someone like Chaplow in the middle imo.

to do what exactly, rush around like a blue assed fly and lunge at everything that moves, pausing only to give the ball way due to his lack of instantaneous control. Until Ramirez starts and Cork is fit again our MF will be made up of any 3 from Lallana,Morgan,JWP and Davis.

I agree with you but chaplow loves to play united and on his day he would fulfil that role.

I think its safe to assume every Saints player would love to play against them and Chaplow is behind Lallana, Davis, Schneiderlin, Cork and Ward-Prowse in the pecking order for a central midfield role.

So because Chaplow scored one goal against United he should play?

I'm sure the whole team will love playing United.

Might be newly promoted team.

But that still covers us. Eek :)

but how many newly promoted teams have actually lost the first three games?
