Saint Matty 76 Posted 1 September, 2012 Posted 1 September, 2012 2-0 to saints, man u are an overated team and are living off RVP and rooney Yeah they've been living off RVP these whole past two weeks.
Griffo Posted 1 September, 2012 Posted 1 September, 2012 Ah bull****. Like when they started getting in our faces after they did us when we were at the bottom of the champo/in League 1? United is a club that no longer represents Manchester in the slightest. Full of hypocrites from Surrey *****ing about the fact that theres too much money in football ONLY NOW that they are personally affected as their dominance of English football is under threat and they can't sit in their armchairs toasting a 6th successive title. The number of United "fans" who roll their eyes at anyone who supports their local team because after all, they themselves "realised when they were a kid my local club weren't going to win anything :D" sums up everything about United. Plastic as ****. No matter how noisy. They can go **** themselves. Bottom of League 1 or top 10 in the Premiership, Saints will always be Saints. Lets make a ****ing racket. (Having said all that, one thing I would be totally opposed to is singing Liverpool/City songs - that really is bloody awful) but singing about the fact we stick by our local team no matter what is fair game. Their away support is completely different. Full of young lads from Manchester. None of them wear gimpy replica kits or sing sh*t songs. They make a f*ckload of noise and have original songs.
The9 Posted 1 September, 2012 Posted 1 September, 2012 "We support our local team" and "**** off back to London" needs to be in full, deafening voice tomorrow. So very lame.
The9 Posted 1 September, 2012 Posted 1 September, 2012 Is Maya Yoshida injured?? No, but he's not joining up with us until after the international break. Mayuka's the only signing who's around to potentially make his debut tomorrow.

Griffo Posted 1 September, 2012 Posted 1 September, 2012 I bet you love them... Well no seeing as I support Southampton. Strange comment. Anyone that's seen that at St Mary's can't argue that their away support is very good.
The9 Posted 1 September, 2012 Posted 1 September, 2012 What drives me mad is when that wonderful radio station Talk Sport claim that the grey shirts game was the 6-3 match. It's not just them, the Sky Sports commentator repeated it for BOTH the last two FA Cup matches.
The9 Posted 1 September, 2012 Posted 1 September, 2012 Well no seeing as I support Southampton. Strange comment. Anyone that's seen that at St Mary's can't argue that their away support is very good. I was talking about the Man U fans, not the team. They sing songs about eating dogs and rats, don't you think that's "embarrassing" or something?
Griffo Posted 1 September, 2012 Posted 1 September, 2012 I was talking about the Man U fans, not the team. They sing songs about eating dogs and rats, don't you think that's "embarrassing" or something? No, at least they made it up themselves. Most of the stuff we sing is generic crap.

Appy Posted 1 September, 2012 Posted 1 September, 2012 It's not just them, the Sky Sports commentator repeated it for BOTH the last two FA Cup matches. Unlikely, neither of those games were on Sky.
View From The Top Posted 1 September, 2012 Posted 1 September, 2012 Utds away support is the best in England bar none. They are loud & original. We just clap fast from what I can tell.
The9 Posted 1 September, 2012 Posted 1 September, 2012 Unlikely, neither of those games were on Sky. Fair point, the ITV commentator ? Whoever it was repeated the bolllocks in his preamble for both matches.
tobes8 Posted 1 September, 2012 Posted 1 September, 2012 I would like to see us go more direct tomorrow. Angle balls into the box for lambert to attack and get players in the area to reach any knock downs.. what really annoys be about recent man ure games at st marys is saints fans swarming round the united warm up before kick off....if you want to see them that closely then bugger off and support them!
Saint Scott Posted 1 September, 2012 Posted 1 September, 2012 Utds away support is the best in England bar none. They are loud & original. We just clap fast from what I can tell. A friend of mine is a United fan and we got tickets to Chelsea away last season. Mad game finished 3-3, but the United fans drowned out the Chelsea fans all game. We were surrounded by about 20 p**sed young guys. Had a great day!
Griffo Posted 1 September, 2012 Posted 1 September, 2012 Don't know why but I have a good feeling about tomorrow. 1-1?
slickmick Posted 1 September, 2012 Posted 1 September, 2012 Can Ramirez play? Presumably yes considering the OS said it was all done almost 10 days ago... I don't actually think he can. I don't think he could be registered until everything was 100% done, and that wasn't all complete until after midday today. I think he leaves to go to Uruguay for the international break on Sunday (i imagine he'll stay for the Man U game though) Hmmm, what if it was wrapped up before deadline ? Mind games anyone ?
The9 Posted 1 September, 2012 Posted 1 September, 2012 Haven't seen anyone post the BBC's match preview on here, but some of it is pretty good writing, giving the context for our last league match against Man U : http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/19384117 Well worth a read, short but good.
Window Cleaner Posted 1 September, 2012 Posted 1 September, 2012 I'd be far more confident were either of our 2 beacon signings to play.
S-Clarke Posted 1 September, 2012 Posted 1 September, 2012 Hmmm, what if it was wrapped up before deadline ? Mind games anyone ? It wasn't. No mind games by anyone. The final bits of paper work to officially complete the deal were signed after 12, so he wasn't registered in time for the weekends fixtures. Also, NA has even said as much.
The9 Posted 1 September, 2012 Posted 1 September, 2012 Hmmm, what if it was wrapped up before deadline ? Mind games anyone ? I'd be very surprised if we delayed it as a stunt just to get the chance to play someone completely unexpectedly. But that "one signature needed" was a strange situation, and I suppose stranger things have happened.

If they'd actually gone to the trouble of covering it up just to get that slight advantage, he would say that wouldn't he ?
saints_is_the_south Posted 1 September, 2012 Posted 1 September, 2012 Don't know why but I have a good feeling about tomorrow. 1-1? You're not alone. I have this strange itching feeling that we may get something tomorrow. I think we'll certainly see a better performance than against Wigan, because we'll raise our game against the bigger team like we did City IMO. And at St Mary's, you never know. That said, I've got money on 3-1 United. Also gone for the half time/full time reverse.
corky morris Posted 1 September, 2012 Posted 1 September, 2012 Utds away support is the best in England bar none. They are loud & original. We just clap fast from what I can tell. Think Leeds is better than Man U personally
Rasiak-9- Posted 1 September, 2012 Posted 1 September, 2012 So very lame. Yeah i'll bet you'll be at the game making some noise won't you. Furthermore you'll probably have a good old whine and whinge if our players sit back and admire United on the pitch as you're doubtless planning to do off it. I suppose singing "Have you got another kit" at half time when we were 3-0 up in '97 was lame as well? United away support might be the one of the most vocal in England (which is a bit like being the fastest man in the Paralympics when measured to the noise fans make in South America for instance) but they've still got a fanbase full of arrogant, hypocritical dickheads. Lets all be nice and quiet and let them **** all over us off the pitch and then complain when our players do the same on it eh? Obviously OWTS should ring out loud and clear as well. And I've made my position clear on singing Citeh/Liverpool songs. Supporting a local team isn't just about abusing United, its something to be proud of when we've been to League 1 and back, something that most United fans know sweet FA about.
Saint Jude Posted 1 September, 2012 Posted 1 September, 2012 Dunno if you saw the recent survey on fan locations... but Manure actually came out with more Manchester based fans than Man City... was all a bit surprising... BTW: According to Mayuka's FB page... his agent has told him he's playing.
View From The Top Posted 1 September, 2012 Posted 1 September, 2012 Think Leeds is better than Man U personally I nearly typed that Leeds was on a par with it.

United hear sh*t songs about being from Surrey, supporting local teams etc etc every week. We'll sing "We support our local team" and they will reply with "You support a load of ****e" and we will be quiet again. Why don't we sing Saints songs rather than songs about their supposed glory hunting away fans (which they're not, you can hear the thick Manc accent in their songs..) and songs about Liverpool designed to wind them up.
Appy Posted 1 September, 2012 Posted 1 September, 2012 When we played them in 09, singing about Liverpool was truely terrible.
View From The Top Posted 1 September, 2012 Posted 1 September, 2012 When we played them in 09, singing about Liverpool was truely terrible. Shows you how small time much of our fanbase is.
CityRanger Posted 1 September, 2012 Posted 1 September, 2012 I don't understand why we're fawning over United fans so much. They're a bunch of c*nts who fakin loved it when we went down. And lets face it, 75 per cent of them wouldn't be there if they weren't winning every week. It makes it a lot easier to be "funny and original" if you've got a couple of hundred million pounds of talent on the pitch.

sandwichsaint Posted 1 September, 2012 Posted 1 September, 2012 Did anybody link this yesterday from the Guardian? Decent read, mainly from their perspective but it shows how we've punched above our weight before ..... and we can do so again tomorrow ... 2-0 Saints! http://www.guardian.co.uk/sport/blog/2012/aug/31/joy-of-six-manchester-united-southampton
Griffo Posted 1 September, 2012 Posted 1 September, 2012 Ironic really, when other clubs sing Play Up Pompey we take the **** and clap them sarcastically. Yet we sing Liverpool songs to United and sing Bubbles when we play Millwall. Bit weird. I remember at Coventry last season when they sung Play Up Pompey and we sung "Who the f*ck do you support?" Back to them. That was quite clever for us!
CityRanger Posted 1 September, 2012 Posted 1 September, 2012 That's ******s. So they'd have the same lot if they were league one? Thats *******s!
CityRanger Posted 1 September, 2012 Posted 1 September, 2012 Saints 3 Man U 2. Rodriguez winner 97 minutes lol.
View From The Top Posted 1 September, 2012 Posted 1 September, 2012 So they'd have the same lot if they were league one? Thats *******s! I'll assume you are to young to actually remember when they were sh.it & relegated and still brought huge number to Saints. Even through the 80s & early 90s they bought more than any other team bar, perhaps, Liverpool.
shurlock Posted 1 September, 2012 Posted 1 September, 2012 When we played them in 09, singing about Liverpool was truely terrible. Cringeworthy but it was a one-off, a product of very dark times. The club was in freefall and we utterly s**t and deflated in what even we were billing as our cup final. Its no coincidence that it didnt happen again in 2011 when we were on the up.
alpine_saint Posted 1 September, 2012 Posted 1 September, 2012 Wondering how bold NA will be with the line-up. How many of the new signings will feature. Rooney is out, isnt he ? Pity, him being missing leaves a space for someone who is not a useless fat tw*t.

Nexstar Posted 1 September, 2012 Posted 1 September, 2012 Oh ? Thought Yoshida would have sneaked in too. Away with Japan on international duties
shurlock Posted 1 September, 2012 Posted 1 September, 2012 Away with Japan on international duties Did Lee get called up? Or they bypassed him this time because he's been injured.
alpine_saint Posted 1 September, 2012 Posted 1 September, 2012 Away with Japan on international duties Yeah, just caught that elsewhere. Thanks anyway.
CanadaSaint Posted 1 September, 2012 Posted 1 September, 2012 Only Mayuka of this week's signings can actually play Has anyone definitively said that Ramirez is ineligible? Our Nigel couldn't be playing a little head game with Fergie, could he?
Appy Posted 1 September, 2012 Posted 1 September, 2012 Has anyone definitively said that Ramirez is ineligible? Our Nigel couldn't be playing a little head game with Fergie, could he? The OS twitter feed said he can't play.
Saint_lambden Posted 1 September, 2012 Posted 1 September, 2012 3-1 United. We'll give it a good go but they'll be too strong. Expecti it to be about October before we fully get going with the new signings.
