James Posted 1 September, 2012 Posted 1 September, 2012 Can Ramirez play? Presumably yes considering the OS said it was all done almost 10 days ago...
S-Clarke Posted 1 September, 2012 Posted 1 September, 2012 Can Ramirez play? Presumably yes considering the OS said it was all done almost 10 days ago... I don't actually think he can. I don't think he could be registered until everything was 100% done, and that wasn't all complete until after midday today. I think he leaves to go to Uruguay for the international break on Sunday (i imagine he'll stay for the Man U game though)
SNSUN Posted 1 September, 2012 Posted 1 September, 2012 Looking forward to seeing Mayuka in action, however long he may get. I hope they unveil Ramirez on the pitch on Sunday too for a quick wave. That'll boost the feel good factor around the stadium and us cheering will show how happy we are with him. (Aside from the Mancs.)

Well worth a read.
Saint Charlie Posted 1 September, 2012 Posted 1 September, 2012 Hope Puncheon gets a start, he has real ability and now the window is shut he will know he is staying til at least Jan. Mayuka cameo from the bench.

Joey-deacons-left-nut Posted 1 September, 2012 Posted 1 September, 2012 Yes Nuts! For some mad reason I thought it was in a couple of weeks.... Weirdly I have no idea what our I fixture list is and tbh I'm pretty apothetic about the whole season, I think if we were in the championship I'd probably be more interested....
fanimal Posted 1 September, 2012 Posted 1 September, 2012 Will there be a wall in the Northam car park? If not why not? has the potential to be like Millwall last year.
ottery st mary Posted 1 September, 2012 Posted 1 September, 2012 Hope Puncheon gets a start, he has real ability and now the window is shut he will know he is staying til at least Jan. Mayuka cameo from the bench. Totally agree with you...He really does have the skill/ability to be a top player in our team/squad.. Some of the comments on this forum are from peeps who have never seen him play:rolleyes: The management want him in and that tells me a lot about Punch..
dellgirl Posted 1 September, 2012 Posted 1 September, 2012 Can we start " we are here to see Southampton " before they start their boring jibe.
Rasiak-9- Posted 1 September, 2012 Posted 1 September, 2012 "We support our local team" and "**** off back to London" needs to be in full, deafening voice tomorrow.
LGTL Posted 1 September, 2012 Posted 1 September, 2012 "We support our local team" and "**** off back to London" needs to be in full, deafening voice tomorrow. Please god, just no. They hear it every single week, it is neither funny or original. They also have fantastic away support, all of whom have to go to most matches to even get a sniff of a ticket.
Papa Shango Posted 1 September, 2012 Posted 1 September, 2012 "We support our local team" and "**** off back to London" needs to be in full, deafening voice tomorrow. Yeah because they never hear that anywhere else do they. The majority of United's away support actually comes from Manchester anyway. Quality away supporters who will no doubt outsing us yet again.
Thedelldays Posted 1 September, 2012 Posted 1 September, 2012 "We support our local team" and "**** off back to London" needs to be in full, deafening voice tomorrow. their away support is phenomenal..
Dig Dig Posted 1 September, 2012 Posted 1 September, 2012 Jesus, some pretty negative tosh being spouted by the sky panel just now when talking about Saints/Man Utd. No mention if Gaston as a player, mostly about his price as well and empty seats against Wigan and the Echo ban....very weird.

No mention if Gaston as a player, mostly about his price as well and empty seats against Wigan and the Echo ban....very weird. Find it odd how they're looking at the price of Ramirez (well merson in particular) and acting as if it's some sort of mega gamble, and that it's over priced. Steven Fletcher joined Sunderland for up to 15m. Jarvis joined WHU for up to 11m. Rhodes joined Rovers for up to 8m. We have got a snip, it's just their lack of football knowledge outside of the top 6 which makes them think otherwise.
ibizasaint Posted 1 September, 2012 Posted 1 September, 2012 their away support is phenomenal.. Their away support is great but on the other hand they have had years of winning a lot of away games all season.

Dig Dig Posted 1 September, 2012 Posted 1 September, 2012 you watch..they will say that fletcher is a "clever MoN signing" etc Yea, just inconsistent and most have been shown to be fairly clueless on plenty of occasions. They were generally mocking our signings, focusing on Nationality of them. MLT the only one who could comment on them as players. We'll be told off soon by someone on here for claiming that the media have an agenda.

I don't see it as some sort of agenda...I think its just being a bit think...they are probably looking at the transfer window and thinking..why are saints spending £30m? and then assume because we are saints..we must be spending £30m on average players as if they were good..other teams would have then if they clicked their fingers.... Guess it's not just saints they are ill informed on though, plenty of others but they do have their favourites for sure. They have **** all to do during the week, you'd think they would stay informed about European football at least in the build up to Saturday. Not just read Saturdays edition of the Sun and rely on what Stelling tells them. Have some pride in your profession FFS
JackanorySFC Posted 1 September, 2012 Posted 1 September, 2012 Just bad research and complacency on their part. The reason I would far rather listen to the Football Ramble, Guardian Football weekly and The Game (Times) podcasts for my football fix these days. Sky, the Sun and Talksport are just dumbed down "celeb", backslapping, top 6, introverted, no football outside the Prem bull****. I would actually rather start seeing journos like Marcotti, Olly Kay, Henry Winter etc being pundits on Sky rather than some of the current, ex footballer morons.
doubleonothing Posted 1 September, 2012 Posted 1 September, 2012 “@SimonPeach: #MUFC are 250/1 to change their kit against #SaintsFC tomorrow à la 1996. Save your money, go for a 6-3 home win at 500/1 instead #easymoney” I'm off to ladbrokes (other bookies are available)

Yep totally agree, though the assumption will always be that you can only talk about the game if you've played it at a serious level. On that basis, its hard to come up a list of informed, articulate ex pros: Neville, Claridge, MLT though he does seem easily impressionable...?

Dr. Kucho Posted 1 September, 2012 Posted 1 September, 2012 SAF has said he will start with Buttner as Evra injured himself in training. We should take full advantage of this and put loads of pressure on him as he most likely will be their weaker link in defence. Also have this small feeling might just get something out of this game. ---------------- Davis--------------- Clyne ----- Fonte-----Hooiveld----- Shaw ------- Morgan ------ Davis------ Puncheon ----- Lallana ------- Lee --------- Rodriguez------- Subs: Gazza, Yoshida (can he play?, either Seaborne), JWP, Lambert, Richardson, Mayuka, Shaw Lambert to come on for Rodriquez around the 60th min (same tactic as against City)

SuperMikey Posted 1 September, 2012 Posted 1 September, 2012 No Rooney, Young or Evra eh? Trés interessant...
for_heaven's_Saint Posted 1 September, 2012 Posted 1 September, 2012 No way Lambert will be left out IMO Not after the way Fellaini bullied their defense.
Rebel Posted 1 September, 2012 Posted 1 September, 2012 I think we'll start with the following line up if Adkins has his thinking head on: ---------------- Davis--------------- Clyne ----- Fonte-----Hooiveld----- Fox ------- Morgan ------ Davis------ Puncheon ----- Lambert.........Lallana --------- Rodriguez------- with Rodriguez and Mayuka on the bench to come on and make an impact if we need it! I'd like to see lots of movement with Punch and Lallana switching sides at times and Lallana cutting in at others whilst Lambert goes wide left or deep to pick up the ball and link the play. I'd also like to see the full backs putting some balls into the box for Lambert and Rodriguez to bully their centrebacks.

I'd also like to see the full backs putting some balls into the box for Lambert and Rodriguez to bully their centrebacks. Thought much the same in terms of the forward line. Seems stupid to me (perhaps I am being daft) to buy Rodriguez who has played mainly as a central striker out on the left when Lambert is capable of playing in the midfield/striker link up. I also prefer Lallana out on the left as he has cemented himself there over the last two years and IMO is actually rather good at it. He also works fairly well with Fox. I have a sneaking suspicion on 1-0 with Jos scoring from a corner. Failing that RVP could rip Fonte to pieces :-(

Like this system, although if RL starts there he will need to get around Carrick when we lose the ball.

I want him to rise to the occasion. I don't think he is a bad player. He just hasn't had any competition for a year, and some basic errors have crept in via complacency.

GoMarchingIn Posted 1 September, 2012 Posted 1 September, 2012 I've just written a new blog posts that compares player stats from the EA Sports Player Performance Index ahead of tomorrow's clash against United. Interesting stats on Schneiderlin and Lallana this week! Saints v United: Review

Rasiak-9- Posted 1 September, 2012 Posted 1 September, 2012 their away support is phenomenal.. Ah bull****. Like when they started getting in our faces after they did us when we were at the bottom of the champo/in League 1? United is a club that no longer represents Manchester in the slightest. Full of hypocrites from Surrey *****ing about the fact that theres too much money in football ONLY NOW that they are personally affected as their dominance of English football is under threat and they can't sit in their armchairs toasting a 6th successive title. The number of United "fans" who roll their eyes at anyone who supports their local team because after all, they themselves "realised when they were a kid my local club weren't going to win anything :D" sums up everything about United. Plastic as ****. No matter how noisy. They can go **** themselves. Bottom of League 1 or top 10 in the Premiership, Saints will always be Saints. Lets make a ****ing racket. (Having said all that, one thing I would be totally opposed to is singing Liverpool/City songs - that really is bloody awful) but singing about the fact we stick by our local team no matter what is fair game.
