Predictions - who will we sign this week?

Can't see an actual predictions (rather than hcdajfu) thread, so here goes.....

Who will we sign come the end of the transfer window? No prizes, it's just for fun.

My view:

CB - Dann

CB - someone unexpected

AM - Ramirez

With Dann being done in the last 2 hours of the window.

I reckon that three or less signings will see us struggle to stay up. Might be alright with three though just need to inject some pace and urgency throughout the team.

yeah, I guess it will largely depend on who the 3 are though. The more I see Ince from Blackpool the more I want him here!

Convinced we will not sign a goalie.

Convinced we will sign Ramirez.

And we'll scrape in a centre back no one has ever heard of making the Cult of Cortese rejoice in "we do our business in private" orgasms.

And we'll sign some teenage full back from Exeter or MK Dons or something.

As long as the centre back we sign is excellent - Svensson standard - we'll be fine to stay up with these signings.

Ince is the guy I've wanted to see all along. He and Clyne could be lethal up the right for years to come - and England internationals to boot.

But one of the biggest problems of leaving it so late is the fact that the selling club has little chance to reinvest the money. That will apply especially to Blackpool because they have had a great start, so I fear that we must rule out Ince and perhaps Phillips as well.

My hunch is that we're after either Ramirez or Phillips (the back-up option), so we'd better hope that we get Ramirez.

But we have multiple permutations up front already and virtually none in the middle of the back row, so - with time running out fast - our priority should be back four signings rather than a battle of egos between two Italian chairmen.

GK - no idea

Full Back - is Olson even a remote possibility ?

CB - This Douglas character is possibly the best option we might hope for, although he'll probably end up elsewher

Ramirez - that one is up in the air whilst two chairmen play a game of bluff, expect him to end up at Spurs, Liverpool or elsewhere now that our interest is so public

Phillips - this is a signing I'd like to happen but Blackpool are unlikely to sell (to us).

Biglia - isn't he now bound for Norwich anyway ?

More realistic will be Dann, or an overpriced crock such as Dawson, or Upton, and a Serie A loanee.

Just a thought, but Olson, Dann and now Goodwillie mentioned. What chance a bundle package from Blackburn ? Would save a lot of time in to-ing and fro-ing with another club.

Not that Goodwillie is necessarily a player we need.

I agree but I can't see Blackpool selling to us. I reckon they will risk keeping him there and then if they don't go up they will sell next year. I would sign Ramirez and invest some serious money (6-8 million) on a proven CB.

Dawson is 9 mill upwards, wages would be huge and the reason they are off loading is because of his reoccurring Achilles injury

Please god I hope we don't buy him

IF we signed him we would be confident he will play regularly. If we signed him I would be delighted. We need to invest in a proven quality CB, it is vital to our success this year.

He hasnt started any game for them yet though so are they planning for life without him

You could be right, but he's been a key late introduction, I think.

And, right now, Blackpool wouldn't give us a spot if they had the measles (although it could all be "verbals").

I reckon it could be the busiest final week for a lot of sides, as the market has been relatively quiet up until now.

Fair point. I've been listening to a few of the managers post-match interviews today, and every one says that they'll be in the market as they still need additions.

Odd that it's been as quiet as it has been.

These would have to be done before Friday though as no loan window past then.

And I will reiterate, please God no Dann. Awful, awful player.

Dann's mistake yesterday won't have impressed many potential bidders!
