Pretty much agree with this. Put out the reserves - I won't care about the League Cup unless we get to the quarter finals.

Sat at home still waiting for my b///////y ticket to arrive in the post, bought it first day of sale - not impressed.

Pub suggestion: Old Mutual Friend Broadwater Crescent SG2 8EH 15/20 minutes fron ground, Good Beer Guide

Easy enough, although I've seen some people say don't park at the ground.

How come? All the stuff I've seen online has said it's easy to get in/out of.

I think the likes of Jake Sinclair, Corby Moore and Sam Hoskins are involved alongside JWP, Shaw, Stephens and Chambers - source: another youth player wishing them all luck tonight.

Imagine a few could start ie Shaw, JWP, Stephens and the others will be on the bench.

Would expect Shaw, Chambers and Stephens all to start. Would also expect Sharp/Lee/De Ridder/Seaborne/Gazza to play.

Would think we'll start

As I'm due back at work in Norfolk tomorrow, it would be rude not to leave a day early and stop off at Stevenage on my way.

Hopefully I'll be able to purchase tickets on the day.

May have a spare one if you need one Simon.

Gazzaniga; Richardson, Stephens, Seaborne, Shaw; Puncheon, Hammond, Reeves, Lee; Sharp, Hoskins.

Or similar.

Having forgotten about Chaplow, I'd probably have him in for Sharp.

Soooo Gazzaniga; Richardson, Stephens, Seaborne, Shaw; Reeves, Hammond, Puncheon, Chaplow, Lee; Hoskins.

Oh, and anyone know if we're playing in yellow as I suspect we will ? There's no colour confirmation on the Saints OS but Stevenage play in white with a red hoop, red shorts and socks, so both our home and away kits will clash.

A bit of Googling this morning leads me to think there may be the possibility of a live stream of the game on the Net.

Apparently Sky wanted the game on tv on Thursday but Saints said no.

will tonights game be on radio solent or whatever station it is ?

can somebody remind me of the frequency pls, think it's been moved on me stereo since last season.

Can someone going to the match keep an eye on Marcus Haber? He's a Canadian international we've got somewhat high hopes for. Sad I know, but it'd be great to hear how he looks.

Amazing prices on this game on Betfair - people obviously don't have much faith in our kids, we are barely favourites...

They have a good home record, will be a very tough game with none of our regular starters playing...

He used to play for St Johnstone, my second team. Bit of a beanpole and not much else tbh. Decent in the air but not great with the ball at his feet and not exceptionally quick either. He may get better though, he's still only young.

TEAM NEWS

Stevenage

Stevenage's on-loan winger Robbie Rogers may be handed his first start after making his debut as a substitute on Saturday.

Summer signing Lucas Akins is expected to keep his place in attack after two goals in two games.

Southampton

Southampton's Tadanari Lee is set to start as manager Nigel Adkins eases him back into action following the foot injury he picked up last season.

Jack Cork will again be absent as he is still troubled by an ankle problem.

MATCH FACTS

Head-to-head

This is the first meeting between the clubs.

Stevenage

This is only the third season in which they have played in the League Cup.

The 3-1 home win over AFC Wimbledon last season was their first-ever victory in the competition.

Southampton

Southampton were runners-up in the League Cup to Nottingham Forest in 1979.

Last season was the first time the Saints had got past the second round in three years.

I would be so hacked off if I were Billy Sharp.............

I would be so hacked off if I were Billy Sharp.............

Most footballers just want to play, so I bet Billy is not hacked off. He has hardly played since the start of the season, despite having a good pre-season, so needs to get amongst the goals to remind NA of what he can do.

The more interesting point about this line up is that it shows up our serious shortage at the moment in 2 specific positions, GK and CB. KD (assuming its K and not S) has to be on the bench because we have no real alternative, and Frazer has to play at CB ahead of Stephens despite the fact that he played CB on the pre-season tour and got good reviews when he did, it seems like NA is not willing to risk our 4th choice CB and would prefer to play Frazer out of position.
