......in all likelihood. How will you feel?

1) Still glad to be in the PL

2) Wrist-slitting suicide risk

3) "Adkins out" merchant

4) Reserving judgement until Christmas

5) Baying for Villa blood

6) Meh!

meh....I thought we would have 1 point in all that....but either way, expected to be bottom....with our start, won't really judge till completion of game 10

7) Resigned to the inevitable in May 2013, but not particularly troubled by it either because the footballing world we now inhabit stinks.

7. Still enjoying the ride and trying to guess what happens next. Also trying not to get too worked up over playing 4-3-3/4-5-1 when we blatantly haven't got the players to do it.

Understanding that it was a 5 year plan and we're well ahead of schedule and that the club hasn't let us down yet. If it takes a relegation to understand the Premiership, then so be it.

Fact is, Wigan were far better than anything we played in the Championship last year and apart from right back, I'd argue that was a weaker team than what we put out for the majority of last season.

Would love for us to just go for it though, ala Blackpool. We can't defend for ****, may as well go for broke. If we could just move the ball a little quicker, we'd give ourselves a much better chance. It's not all doom and gloom!

This but with perhaps more of a Swansea outcome when it all clicks into place.

Just watched us on Match of the Day. If we don't improve at the back we've got no chance. I was annoying myself today, criticising, and had to remind myself where we have come from.

If we're bottom after 4 games there'll be no wrist slitting from me. Villa look garbage at the moment, so I'll be looking for a result there.

Apart from last season we never have a good start to the season no matter what league we're in (Championship 2007/08, 2008/09 League 1 2009/10, League 1 2010/11 just some recent examples)

For me 6, I'm really enjoying the PL at the moment not really bothered that we haven't managed to beat the Champions at their own stadium or a tough Wigan side that beat Arsenal at the Emirates, Liverpool at Anfield, A very good Newcastle side 4-0, Man United 1-0 at the end of last season.

ALOT of people underestimated Wigan (Maybe the team included?) and thought we'd win this 4/5/6-0, I didn't. The points will come. Keep the faith, Believe

Staying in the prem is the only thing we should striving to achieve, all this talk of champions league, playing like Barcelona blah blah blah is frankly very cringy.

Also saying 'we were playing wycombe a couple of years ago' or 'we nearly didn't have a club' or 'we are ahead of schedule on the 5 year plan' basically has no relevance to anything at the moment and is also defeatist and cringy.

The facts are we have done well to get where we are in a short space of time,as yet we haven't done brilliant in the transfer market, apart from a few short spells we are struggling on the pitch and Adkins doesn't seem to have an answer to it or the ability to change it.

If you are happy to plod along and struggle with a good possibility of relegation then change nothing, keep smiling, you'll probably be satisfied with the outcome.

If you want us to stay in the prem and build on that success then changes need to be made and plans have to be re drawn.

I know which I would prefer.

The problem is Wigan (no disrespect to wigan) are one of the weaker sides in the PL and they had no trouble beating us if we can't pick up points at home to teams like Wigan where are the points going to come from?

The smell of bullsh1t emanating from this thread is overpowering.

No proper football fan - of any team - could possibly be entirely unconcerned to see his/her team is at the bottom of the league without a point after four games. If this sorry state of affairs should occur here, then I can promise anyone reading this that I'm not going to be all 'cool calm & collected' about it as some on here claim they will be - I'm going to give the (metaphorical) cat the kicking of its ferking life and be a utter bear to everyone around me. If we were to continue in such miserably uncompetitive form then - sooner or later - I will certainly expect the 'powers that be' to take the appropriate action to address the situation. Failure is not a option.

I've paid over £500 to follow this team this season - which is a lot of money to me - and in return for that I expect to see us field a viable Premier League team that doesn't roll over and have its tummy tickled every time it plays the likes of Wigan Athletic.

My expectations were to get less than 3 points from the first 6 fixtures so not too concerned.

From the day we clinched promotion I expected this season to be really tough and 17th would be a great achievement.

This is a tough league, the finishing is razor sharp and if you do not have a fantastic defence you will regularly ship goals, even when you dominate a game.

That's why I'd been hoping for a top class GK + CB all summer long.

I suspect the fans who are getting the most upset are the ones that expect us to be challenging for top 6.

Wigan should have given the dreamers a big reality check.

Remember Reading last season? We battered them but their superior finishing cost us. That's what you can expect in this league over and over.

We are in a dog fight but I believe we can stay up, we do need to adapt ASAP though.

That sounds quite hopeful - when you've resigned yourself to the inevitable of us not going up automatically in each of the last two years it has worked out rather well.

I would be interested whether you now agree with my views that we have been planning for a WBA style 'yoyo' strategy ? My view has been rubbished by a fair view posters over the last few months but I think secretly more people are coming round to my way of thinking.

I take it you didn't watch us at The Dell then. Hopefully we'll all be feeling a lot more confident at the end of the transfer window.

I'm going to be at 4.

I would of hoped to of knocked Wigan over yesterday if we had done all of our transfer business, but given that we still are "apparently" in for 4 more positions (Ram, Phillips, CB,LB) we can still mathematically could improve 35% of the team based on signings alone (if we played Jrod as CF its more like 45%) so i retain long term hope based on the assumption we get those A class players.

I think to pursue and create long term value you need patience, have belief in what you are doing and set standards of excellence.

Reacting to the short term events (I would taken 1pt after 4 games before the season started) and letting your emotional response drive you negates this and we become like every other knee jerk club, results matter in May not August.

On another note the impact both Santi Carzola and Michu have made on their teams leaves me highly optimistic that a Ram or another could do the same for us, its just that as mentioned billions of times, JRod, Guly are playing in positions to which they are not suited at this level which inhibits the 4-3-3 framework as 2 of the forward 3 are out of position.

You can make do in the championship but not with the big boys, I do hope Man City spank Liverpool who i think have similar problems to us and like us are bottom.

Arsenal, United, Liverpool and Newcastle seemed to do alright last season
