Sack Adkins bring in Redknapp

Seaford Saint

Adkins is learning, the squad is learning - they will improve. Getting rid of NA would be futile as it would break the unity within the team and, thinking of realistic replacements, it would be the surest way of getting us relegated. Let's get the transfer window over with and a few more games out of the way before making judgement. I think a few of the ejaculations on here are a little premature.

Not that I don't agree with you but I said the same thing when Pardew was sacked and that worked out rather well so I wouldn't be surprised if NC didn't see it that way.

isnt it our stated aim to have 50% of the team made up from the academy? If NC is serious about that he wont go for Redkanpp

oh, and we are TWO games into the season ffs!! one of those being against the champions!

exactly if we appoint the twitchy one say goodbye to my support and all the hard work done on the academy in the last few years

Next season we will need Nigel's experince in the championship.....

I suspect you made this comment tongue in cheek. However, you are right. We need to stick together as a club in what is bound to be a hard season. Spirit will help us through and should we get relegated we will have gained some valuable experience build again and return to the premier stronger and wiser. NA is a good manager but he has possibly one of the hardest jobs in the league. sacking him will do no good.

I would like to see someone of the pedigree of Glenn Hoddle help NA.

I've said for a while that this pre-season & up to this points is eerily similar to the end of Pardew.

Most likely boll.oxs but I just can't shift that feeling.

Except NA appears to have survived the bank holiday weekend sacking so far today that befell Pardew.

Sadly though I also fear NC might take action, before the end of September, if we are firmly rooted at the bottom of the table with only one or two points. I doubt however he would see Redtw^t fitting in to our plans etc. but he will either look for another manager with premier league experience, or bring in a coach from the continent.

Without wishing to invoke Dalek's hobby horse it would come as no surprise if Hoddle' name is touted. For ambition though NC might try to lure Martinez, as we are of course bigger than Wigan, and offer 'ambitions' of european football beyond his current club. Doubt it would happen though.

Cortese is the weak leak at this club.

I think you're absolutely right.

In so many areas of the club operations simple errors are made that wouldn't be if there was a more experienced hand on the helm. People forget NC has no experience of running any sort of business before arriving here. He was a banker, looking after wealthy peoples investments, not a businessman running a business.

What would be best for Saints is the Liebherr family to replace NC with someone with experience in running a top football club.

Hasn't done a bad job, 2 promotions in less time than originally planned and a new training ground.

HR has said on Sky Football Text that he is depsrate to get back and it wil be in England. We are mentioned but not by him as one of his previous clubs and that he is missing being involved in the game. He says: 'I've managed good players at Tottenham, Portsmouth and West Ham. Honestly I enjoy working with good players to be honest with you when you've been working with top players it's very difficult to work with inferior players if you like. I think I'm capable of managing at the very top so well wee what comes up'.. . . . . . .read into that what you like but it says to me what he thinks of us and our current squad.

No, it says what he thinks of the players he managed when he was here, and it's tough to argue with that. Frankly, I don't really blame him for wanting to airbrush the Saints from his CV.

Bringing Redkrapp back to St Mary's would be the most stupid thing Cortese could possibly do! (I doubt he would actually do that in a million years)

Unless he replaces Adkins with Pep Guardiola, it would be big mistake and a ridiculous thing to do dismissing Nigel.

Probably just fans who've sprung back up now we're in the PL.

No true fan, who has been through what we have in the last 2 years, would think any such thing.

must be related to those types I recall at The Dell, when we were in Div.1 all those years ago.

Never saw then before... They turn up, shouting the odds, but couldn't even identify half of the team , yeah, yeah...

I think Redkrap is past his best, anyway he is a big money wheeler dealer and I can't see Saints bankrolling him. If we go down and we are in a good financial state I would say we were in a reasonably strong position to build again in the NPC.

I fear a financial meltdown far more than relegation and have to say I would not like to be in the situation you find yourselves that's for sure.

ReddCrapp/ReddSkate is the worsed manager in Europe in my opinion, look what he did to saints, fans would never have him back, and even England didnt want him

Well, he's not really is he? I wouldn't have him back either, but he's not a bad manager.

MANAGERIAL CONSISTENCY is the secret of any football team. NA will be fine, NC on the other hand needs to reinforce this team with a defence. Faster the better.

I cannot believe we have not reinforced with some Premier League stalwarts though.

Still give the new team a chance to settle.

Adkins will take us down.

he was never the manager to take us forward.

he has showed how frail he is these past couple of seasons.

when the time has come ,he has failed.

hes been backed, but we have limped over the line.

he could never manage a side in the premiership, way beyond his capabilities.

hes out of his depth.

We have played 2 games in the premier league...2 for christ sake

limped over the line?? we were in the automatic promotion position all season

what is it with morons like you?

You decided from day one you will never like him, where were you praising him after allour wins last year?

......having followed Redknapp's career (and recalling his sojourn with us) ....he is the last person I would want to consider as a potential replacement for any team.

His " success" has been built on big spending and a healthy dose of Harry's peculiar brand of dressing room " bu**sh*t". Apart from the fact that the next transfer window will be Jan.2013, we all know he would never get some of his " type of deals " past the watchful eye of Nicola Cortese - let alone spend the volume of money he did at Pompeii.

I agree with the sentiment you express ....but in reality those " Premier League stalwarts " are more likely to be Premier League rejects.

No club allows their best players to leave and harm the team set-up and money is seldom an issue for Prem. sides. Players who are sold between Prem.sides are those who are surplus to requirements and

/or not good enough for a regular spot.

Not desperate to be proved right, quite the opposite.

but good 'old smiley Nigel was/is way out of his depth.

tactically out thought on many an occasion, remember Reading defeat, amongst others.we almost threw our advantage away.

good luck to the fella, but he was never going to cut the mustard.

i have heard so many horror story's about him,no wonder Corteses want rid.

shame really,he could've had a bright future.

turn it around nige, would love to see you prove others wrong.

Oh .you're the guy with the sense of humour ..right ?

Those managers who have equalled Nigel Adkins' record of back-to-back promotions can be counted on the fingers of one hand. Sure we know some of those players won't make the grade in the Prem. but he wasn't given a crystal ball to predict when we got promotion last season. Most fans would agree on who... will / will not.. make the grade based on the first two games...so I'm sure NA knows it.

The real proof of success in this League is what happens with signings / transfers this week ......and in January ...and survival come May.

did not take you long..

league 1, adkins was crap and the players don't play for him....then you made excuses why they did

NPC, see above

back to back promotions and here you are after a poor home show.....dont come across all apologetic and saying you like "smiley" nigel..you can't stand him and despite your best attempts over the last two years he has proved you to be an utter utter tool with your opinions of him

even IF he is out of his depth in the prem, he will always be loved by saints fans and proved to be a very very good manager

again, stop trying to come across that your "want him to do well"

He's hated NA since appointment & his hilarious "he's lost the dressing room" statements & the way he subsequently sulked off perfectly illustrate what a spineless ****** he is.

I want Adkins to be given a chance to manage in the Prem.

However events so far seem to suggest that the club is lacking expertise in successfully using the transfer market.

It may have been a good idea to use Redknapp as a transfer consultant, but no more.

Too late now though, but the Wigan disaster-and it is a six-point disaster without doubt, should concentrate minds.
