HITS THE WOODWORKWhat a save this is! Southampton captain Adam Lallana buys himself a yard of space with a deft turn and the midfielder cracks in a rising strike from 25 yards which Ali Al-Habsi just about finger-tips onto the crossbar. Brilliant effort.

By the way, there are hundreds and hundreds of empty seats at Southampton. Not sure what that is all about.

Yep, really disappointing. I was hoping I'd be able to get away and get to the game but it wasn't to be. The online ticketting was certainly showing most seats as sold (for instance blocks 1 2 and 3 all sold out). They clearly aren't. With so few Wigan fans in attendance this will be below 30,000.

Good start from Saints.

“@officialsaints: Fox down injured just outside the Wigan box. Doesn't look good – he had already picked up a knock inside the opening minute. #saintsfc”

More games off. Harlepool orient off as monkey hangers stuck in traffic

Aldershot off due to weather.

Everton 2-0 up

Wigan are starting to get into it more now.

They are. We need to get our noses in front and then our confidence will help us to dominate the game.

Does anyone think the atmosphere is a bit flat ?

Was thinking that. Occasional chant but otherwise not much noise from the crowd. Be interested in attendance.

Utd 2-1 up

Now utd 3-1

BBC have quoted saying there are 'Hundreds and Hundreds of empty seats'.

The weather conditions are replicating the dreary play on the pitch at St Mary's as heavy rain begins to bucket down at the end of the first half. Neither side are making an impact in the final third, and the closest we have come to a goal is a 25-yard drive from Adam Lallana that was pushed onto the crossbar.

Pretty much sums it up. I thought we passed well in the first twenty, but we need some more creativity. An explosive winger.

I am happy with the first half. Second half we need to go for it a bit more. Last week we counter attacked brilliantly but this week Wigan have barely mounted an attack worth countering! Not bad though.

That is a very accurate summary, totally agree.
