Stepgar Posted 20 August, 2012 Posted 20 August, 2012 When the fixtures came out I was **** scared of how we were gonna cope. After yesterday's performance I think we could definatley get something from that game.
Bearsy Posted 20 August, 2012 Posted 20 August, 2012 Is Carrick playing centre back? I'd fancy Ricky against him, back stick!
Webby Posted 20 August, 2012 Posted 20 August, 2012 So, after the first round of fixtures we sit above Man U and Liverpool. Who'd have thought it?
supergoose Posted 20 August, 2012 Posted 20 August, 2012 So, after the first round of fixtures we sit above Man U and Liverpool. Who'd have thought it? Lambo already scored more goals than Van Persie and Rooney put together.
max_saints Posted 20 August, 2012 Posted 20 August, 2012 Lambo already scored more goals than Van Persie and Rooney put together. he's scored more than united Liverpool and arsenal combined
mulletsaint Posted 20 August, 2012 Posted 20 August, 2012 Lambo has got to start looking at how Fellaini tore into them tonight. They'll be taking us even more seriously after dropping points in their first match tho.

To be fair, if any Saints player ever had a game for us like Fellaini had tonight we'd be bloody delighted, he was awesome, won everything, got anything down and to a team mate that was pinged within 10 yards of him, was all over the park, and scored the winner. Superb performance.
Frank's cousin Posted 21 August, 2012 Posted 21 August, 2012 So, after the first round of fixtures we sit above Man U and Liverpool. Who'd have thought it? Aye, but would be more awesome if after 38 rounds of fixtures that was still the case!

Superb performance. Agree, he was excellent. In contrast, certainly until Everton scored, United were very poor. Also, I couldn't help but think during the match that if for our first match of the season we had played Morgan at CB and Guly at RB (ala Carrick and Valencia for Utd last night) this site would have been in melt-down. Looking at them it makes our options for defence seem fantastic! (I still want to see at least one CB come in before the end of the month though.)
The Kraken Posted 21 August, 2012 Posted 21 August, 2012 When the fixtures came out I was **** scared of how we were gonna cope. After yesterday's performance I think we could definatley get something from that game. In contrast, I thought it showed that Everton have a pretty decent side and will definitely be in or around the European places this year. Exactly where a lot of our fans expect us to be in the next season or two. Our game against Everton will potentially show har far from or close to that we are. Fellaini was immense last night, and an indicator of the trouble RL can cause at this level with his height and ability to bring others into the game in and around the box.
ThreeSixty Posted 21 August, 2012 Posted 21 August, 2012 Is Carrick playing centre back? I'd fancy Ricky against him, back stick! Him and Valencia at RB! Rickie would eat them for breakfast.
Bensfcno1 Posted 21 August, 2012 Posted 21 August, 2012 The Kraken, not sure it's that simple to go of one game against a team we would like to be near. If that's the care then we are very close to title contenders after Sunday! I think our league position at xmas and then again in May will be a lot better milestones to measure ourselves!

United are missing Rio Ferdinand, Phil Jones, Chris Smalling and Johnny Evans at centre back, if we were missing 4 possible CBs we'd have Hooiveld, Fonte, Seaborne and Stephens unavailable, and probably be fielding Richardson and Butterfield or Fox at CB... I wouldn't say that was "fantastic".
