Griffo Posted 25 August, 2012 Share Posted 25 August, 2012 But if people are desperate to see Premier League football, as we were told they were and a lot of them were just people that would come to Southampton for a day out to see some Premier League football, not nessasarily Saints fans. Surely they wouldn't care if they were in the Northam or they wouldn't know until they got here it wasn't for them? THere are also tickets available in the Chapel as well by the way so they do have a choice. It's not like people won't turn up at all if they have to go in the Northam. Surely no one's that sad to completely miss a game of football because they don't like the stand they have to be in?

Fair point - but as I have said on many occasion - 'demand' can be increased if the product represents better value - be it in opposition, our quality, league position and price - whether we end up creating enough in future to regularly attract bigger attendances is surely something that was interesting enough to discuss was it not? The product is better, the price is slightly more. I would suggest this represents better value than watching Southampton v Exeter in league one. Does it not? The Kraken Posted 25 August, 2012 Share Posted 25 August, 2012 It's not like people won't turn up at all if they have to go in the Northam. Surely no one's that sad to completely miss a game of football because they don't like the stand they have to be in? Irrelevant anyway, as there's plenty of seats still available for sale in the Itchen and Chapel stands. As unappealing as Wigan are, I'm surprised we're not closer to selling out at least the regular home seats by now, if not the extra ones returned by Wigan. Opposition aside this was always going to be a popular game. Still, 3 hours to kick off, we'll see what the walk up is. My prediction is a crowd of 30,498 with Wigan contributing less than 500.
