Anyone see "I am spazticus" last night. Its on channel 4 at the same time as MOTD2.

I honestly didn't know whether or not I should laugh, or cringe. Some of the humour is a bit close to the mark, but I think the whole point of it is to challenge people's views on disabled people, or to pick fun out of the reactions disable people get from the rest of society.

Some of the clips were hilarious, the identity parade, the parachutist and the blind man taking back a dildo, were particularly funny.

I thought this was going to be a thread about Ian Dury.

Me too.

"Dury's 1981 song "Spasticus Autisticus"—written to show his disdain for that year's International Year of Disabled Persons, which he saw as patronising and counter-productive"

Ian Dury, RIP. He took no prisoners with his lyrics, very sadly missed.

Not sure what to make of it, the ID parade had me looking through my fingers.. It was funny , but I felt bad .

When he pretended to be ****ed and the real cerebal palsy bloke was laughing at him was terrific.
