I don't like Guly but I've never criticised his work ethic (only those who know sh1t-all about football say he's "lazy") and he was typically hard-working today. His main fault is his brain and legs sometimes don't work in unison :D

Oh shut the Guly crap up, seriously. People saying he was crap today have an agenda, simple as. Or they simply don't understand football whatsoever, either one.

He was fine today, pulled them all over the shop 2nd half.

Watch it back.

I was expecting to see a post talking about Fox's performance. If you think Guly was poor then your a complete tool. He showed great work ethic considering he was isolated most of the game. I thought his hold up play was great.

Am i mising something but how does guly get a game (and 90 mins) ahead of the likes of lambo and sharp

You missed something today for sure. Worked his socks off today, Gary Neville said on Sky that he was making intellignet runs in behind their centre backs but wasn't being picked out by our players.

If you must have a go at him at least pick a game where he is poor, not today !

Yep, apparently. Take your pick from "the whole match" or "a brain". Only people who know nothing about football or were not watching the match would make such a stupid comment today. It really beggars belief that there are people who apparently support Saints who are so, well, dense.

Guly...OK first half...Worked hard like all others.

He really came on strong for last quarter. 7/10

Some of you netball players have no clue....:p

Fox played better than given credit for..Under rated..

Punch worked hard with Clyne on the right side...Fox had no real support.

Morgan ...Not so good today..Poor tackler and out of position....Will he step up a little more as he did later in game...Arsene not interested at the moment... Yes he has the talent...but what ever you hockey players think...He has to do a whole lot better.

JWP ...what a lad

J Rod played to plan and will also get a lot better...

Rikeeee once again brings so many different things and was in his position allowing Guly to move into the inside left position and our game improved...(Ramirez will take that position in my view)

Well done Saints...:)

Basically buddy it makes sense for those that couldnt understand the game if they tried to jump onthe Guly bandwagon, no matter what he did.

I'm sick and tired of this witch hunt, down the pub last night and carrying on today my mates have been giving me sh # t because I actually like Guly and think he does a good job for us and when enquiring how many games they actually saw last year, the most any of them could claim to have been to was 4!!!

Proof for me that people are sheep and jump on any bandwagon that they think will be popular.

Either that or they just know sweet fa about football

I have noted - over a long period of time..that some fans find it easy to criticise players who don't score goals, don't have a shot on target, don't complete every pass and don't win every tackle,

However, it doesn't mean they haven't made a valuable contribution to the tactics of the game.

If you watched the game again, you'd see Guly was very much involved, but get his name mentioned every other minute.

Judging by the threads you start, I think you're certainly missing something.

This man smokes crack...... stay away from drugs kids, it ruins lives.

I thought this was going to be a Puncheon thread as he really seemed to come to life when he knew his number might be up soon with his replacement getting ready to come on. Prior to that I thought he was a tad powder puff.

Nowt wrong with Guly

The Most Pathetic Post title v actual proof thread ever award?

He is not a target man 100% agree - that was not his job today. He played the role his boss told him to.

He can't do anymore than that.

I'm sure he is totally respected by his fellow pros as they know all about this sort of situation, although it is not always apreciated by the fans.!!

Edit ..... ha ha that was supposed to be linked to a previous post - too ******ed to care ow - amazed I even spotted it. Good nite sweet dreams!!

Oh dear Miltonroader07 epic fail, I thought Gully had an excellent game today ran his heart out never gave anything up & his touches in and around the box at the end were very good. This against a top top side lets not forget.

I'd be happy if he plays this badly all season.

Just a few little words - you pick the player according to the role you want them to play. Neither Lambert nor Sharp could do what Guly did today - they just don't have the energy levels..

The thread title is wack but why do people think Nige started Guly above Lambert and Sharp? Like, genuinely. I ain't saying it's a bad call but what's the thinking? It weren't goal threat obviously, I reckon Nigel was looking for some good hard running and some clever link play!

Guly was sh1te.

His whiff at goal was a typical guly play.

More importantly he constantly kills an attack by passing behind his teammates rather than in front.

One of his apologists: please note down the exact minute and second of a good Guly moment today and I'll review the game to see if I missed it.

Of course, you won't.....

Totally agree

He's not a front man, but when he plays wide he's much better. Thought he did well today when we started to play 20 yards further up the pitch.

Can't understand why he's singled out? Is it because he's a scapegoat?

Ok, I'll reply.

I would suggest watching the game back from the moment Lambert came on. That moment allowed Guly to operate in a free role, in that role he pulled their midfield and defence all over the place as they didn't know how to track him.

He was involved in the build up to the equaliser and kept the ball well for most of the 2nd half. In the first half he was often isolated as a lone man up front, but boy did he work his arse off without the ball. I bet you if yo asked Kompany and Lescott they'd tell you he was a nightmare to play against because of his constant movement and effort.

People single him out for reasons I'm not sure of, I think back to the goal at Fratton Park and think that's what's turned people on him - but look beyond that, and appreciate that he's actually quite a nifty little football player when he has time and space on the ball.

This....his movement off the ball was good, it the sky pundits mentioned it....

I have gone out of my way to help you here..:)

As requested I have noted all of GDP and his good work for the mighty Saints..;)

3 mins 42 secs.......5 and 37.......8 mins 15 secs........11 mins 53 secs....

14 mins 06 secs......17 mins 01 secs......exceptional movement....:D.

22 mins 47 secs.......exquisite pass to wing.....32 and 37 mins ..movement like poetry....class:p

Get back to this and I will give you the second half where he moves up 2/3 gears...:smug:

Good luck...But please be honest with your viewing and your observations...:smug:
