St Chalet Posted 19 August, 2012 Posted 19 August, 2012 Couple of ref decisions went against us. Welcome to the Prem. All in all quite pleased. When we have gone forward we have looked good. Left side is a worry.
S-Clarke Posted 19 August, 2012 Posted 19 August, 2012 Very well played saints. I think JWP will be subbed though. Probably see Davis come on. Hasnt he been great though? For a 17 year old kid his composure on the ball is so impressive
Ken Tone Posted 19 August, 2012 Posted 19 August, 2012 Interesting that city play 4-4-2. I'd be happier if we were, with Jrod and Lambert up front, guly (or w-p) and AL wide.
mulletsaint Posted 19 August, 2012 Posted 19 August, 2012 I just don't see Fox as a premier league player -- sorry. He has absolutely no cover. Don't think he's done too bad tbh.
Gingeletiss Posted 19 August, 2012 Posted 19 August, 2012 I'm watching in the garage......Chain smoking. Bloody hell! Mike is certainly quick on changing these threads! New Mod syndrome..........
paris Posted 19 August, 2012 Posted 19 August, 2012 Need more up front , otherwise giving a good account , changes at HT ......
SaintRobbie Posted 19 August, 2012 Posted 19 August, 2012 defensively he is Exactly. He and Fox are not talking.
Frank's cousin Posted 19 August, 2012 Posted 19 August, 2012 Got to get used to officials perhaps giving the benefit of doubt to top 6 teams - dont want nasty right ups in refs report afterall.... - gulf in class is obvious, but showing some spirit and first 15 we held our own - need to make sure we concentrate - and once again Davis beaten at near post - Clyne doing well, and ward-prowse looks the part. would like to see a little bit more ambition when we have teh ball, but never going to be easy... Come on Saints
brightspark Posted 19 August, 2012 Posted 19 August, 2012 Pretty proud of that first half. WE'RE BACK!!! Great moment for Kelv, and for all the fans that travelled up there. 99% likely that that will be all we have to celebrate! Hopefully Lambert gets a run, even if it is practically ceremonial. Our only chances of scoring will come from 1 or 2 set pieces in this 2nd half. If Lallana can deliver a better ball we might get lucky...............
S-Clarke Posted 19 August, 2012 Posted 19 August, 2012 Need more up front , otherwise giving a good account , changes at HT ...... If we put more upfront we will be torn apart. Happy for it to stay as is. We can't go chasing games against city
Saint Charlie Posted 19 August, 2012 Posted 19 August, 2012 Suprised how many negative comments there are. We have passed well and will do well against the teams below the top 5/6.
yorkiesaint Posted 19 August, 2012 Posted 19 August, 2012 Not sure what you expect. I expect us to lose, but I feel we can do better then the last ten minutes. For all the good work we are failing at things we can get right. Unless Adkins can work some magic City will turn the screw in the second half.
Ohio Saint Posted 19 August, 2012 Posted 19 August, 2012 Hasnt he been great though? For a 17 year old kid his composure on the ball is so impressive It's especially difficult for a kid to impress in his position. Wingers and strikers tend to impress a lot easier. JWP is a very solid prospect.
Webby Posted 19 August, 2012 Posted 19 August, 2012 Hasnt he been great though? For a 17 year old kid his composure on the ball is so impressive When he's had time on the ball yeah, but he panicked with that clearance with no man anywhere near him. That's just inexperience. Great potential though and he'l grow through this experience.

TBH get a few more corners with Lambert on the pitch and we might sneak one, Fox's delivery is brilliant.
badgerx16 Posted 19 August, 2012 Posted 19 August, 2012 Today was always going to be damage limitation - I thought we started brightly but after the Higeuro injury City started to play like champions. Possibly a bit lucky for it to only be 1-0 but we arent being disgraced. If we can have a tidy 2nd hlf and manage to keep the ball just a little longer we can take some positives from the game, even if it ends in defeat..
doubleonothing Posted 19 August, 2012 Posted 19 August, 2012 Still doesn't feel like I'm watching Saints. All red looks wrong. Positives to be taken in that until the goal we looked like we could match them to a large extent. City seemed to wake up after it.
JoeShmoe Posted 19 August, 2012 Posted 19 August, 2012 Ok so far, we were always gong to spend a lot of time on the back foot. Morgan has given the ball away too much, Punch isn't in the game at all and we need Lambert
Gingeletiss Posted 19 August, 2012 Posted 19 August, 2012 Shaw on for Punch...JRod to the centre....Guly to the right, and we will look more balanced imho.

Great potential though and he'l grow through this experience. To be fair although the commentators picked up on that one moment of panicky clearing, Fox has given the ball away several times, with no mention. Beginning to like Jamie Redknapp again!
