Leicestersaint Posted 19 August, 2012 Posted 19 August, 2012 Fox is getting skinned alive regularly. Can't really see what Puncheon is doing.
Liquidshokk Posted 19 August, 2012 Posted 19 August, 2012 Fox is getting skinned alive regularly. Can't really see what Puncheon is doing. Oh. Have we got a LB playing?
Winchester Red Posted 19 August, 2012 Posted 19 August, 2012 Fox is a week link, the CBs we knew about anyway On the whole, that wasn't at all bad
JustMike Posted 19 August, 2012 Author Posted 19 August, 2012 Fox is getting skinned alive regularly. Can't really see what Puncheon is doing. nothing!
S-Clarke Posted 19 August, 2012 Posted 19 August, 2012 We are doing all I can ask. Making it hard for them and fighting for it.
Avenue Saint Posted 19 August, 2012 Posted 19 August, 2012 Why stand off world class players offering all the time to cut you open? Sort midfield out, more spunk needed! Davis?
obelisk Posted 19 August, 2012 Posted 19 August, 2012 Should've had a pen and their goal was offside. Not going to get any favours from the officials.
JustMike Posted 19 August, 2012 Author Posted 19 August, 2012 Fox is getting skinned alive regularly. Can't really see what Puncheon is doing. to be fair he has had 2 v 1 on several occasions because J-Rod is not a winger
yorkiesaint Posted 19 August, 2012 Posted 19 August, 2012 Well. Very poor, we look nervous. Davis struggling, should have narrowed the angle or the goal. Fox and Rodriguez struggling. Clyde doing well, probably the only positive.
CalneSaint Posted 19 August, 2012 Posted 19 August, 2012 not bad....Fox needs to sharpen up....need to bring Clyne into the game more
Ohio Saint Posted 19 August, 2012 Posted 19 August, 2012 4 mins injury time. I needs me a lucky fag. Ohio, won't you join me? I'm watching in the garage......Chain smoking. Bloody hell! Mike is certainly quick on changing these threads!
badgerx16 Posted 19 August, 2012 Posted 19 August, 2012 I've only just noticed Hart's in goal for them. That's not a good sign. Makes no difference who's in goal if we can't get a shot on target.
InvictaSaint Posted 19 August, 2012 Posted 19 August, 2012 Ward Prowse and Lallana working hard. Rodriguez too though he and Fox not on same wavelength. Guly a decent and willing outlet but Punch v poor thus far. Not altogether bad.
Winchester Red Posted 19 August, 2012 Posted 19 August, 2012 Well. Very poor, we look nervous. Davis struggling, should have narrowed the angle or the goal. Fox and Rodriguez struggling. Clyde doing well, probably the only positive. FFS You're going to be very unhappy this season
laughba Posted 19 August, 2012 Posted 19 August, 2012 halftime subs anyone? lambert on for puncheon, rodriguez to move wide mid??
Dig Dig Posted 19 August, 2012 Posted 19 August, 2012 Cylne has looked really good, as did our middle three for the first 20 mins. Main problem is that the top 3 combo isn't working.
mitch01 Posted 19 August, 2012 Posted 19 August, 2012 Doing all we can, this is just an enormous step up. Keep plugging away and try to get forward with some conviction if we get the chance.
SaintRobbie Posted 19 August, 2012 Posted 19 August, 2012 We should be 3 goals down to be fair. NA needs to completely change the format at half time IMHO. He needs to now rely on surprising Man City with a new plan or we'll gradually be whittled down to lose by 3-4 goals. Jay Rod and Fox are looking awful. Our strip is crap. Bring back our stripes. And apart from that we'll come back and win 3-2...
Jonnyboy Posted 19 August, 2012 Posted 19 August, 2012 Looked great the first 15 minutes, then the adrenaline wore off a little and they started to play. Guly doing a lot of legwork. Not sure what changes NA could make to get us a point....
SNSUN Posted 19 August, 2012 Posted 19 August, 2012 Good moderating from you JustMike. Very prompt opening of the threads. (SNSUN's a suck up.) Good first half. We're making mistakes but that's expected of a newly promoted team. I'd take that first half scoreline again in the second half, but as we tire I can see them tearing us a new one. Still, we have quality on the bench IMO (except defensively perhaps) so this game is FAR from over.
S-Clarke Posted 19 August, 2012 Posted 19 August, 2012 The reason fox is getting such a hard time is because he has little cover. Bring on Ramirez..sign on the dotted line please
VectisSaint Posted 19 August, 2012 Posted 19 August, 2012 Well. Very poor, we look nervous. Davis struggling, should have narrowed the angle or the goal. Fox and Rodriguez struggling. Clyde doing well, probably the only positive. Clyde, Best player for Saints (by the way who is Clyde?) Whole team looks nervous, apart fro Clyne, giving Citeh too much respect. Needs Davis in the middle to help keep the ball.
Ohio Saint Posted 19 August, 2012 Posted 19 August, 2012 I'm happy so far. We have shown that if we can settle down we could end up mid-lower table
Saint Without a Halo Posted 19 August, 2012 Posted 19 August, 2012 Well. Very poor, we look nervous. Davis struggling, should have narrowed the angle or the goal. Fox and Rodriguez struggling. Clyde doing well, probably the only positive. Bonnie coming on 2nd half and were going for a smash and grab!
pap Posted 19 August, 2012 Posted 19 August, 2012 The scoreline is flattering us a bit. City have had loads of chances that could have been put away easily. Can't really say the same for us. Great effort so far - Clyne looks the business. It's distressing to see City tear the defence apart, but they are City. We'll do well against less expensively assembled squads.
Viking Warrior Posted 19 August, 2012 Posted 19 August, 2012 The lino should have gone to spec savers the last 10 minutes it was pretty poor to be honest . In a pub in tobermory watching the game come on you saints
Chicago-Saints Posted 19 August, 2012 Posted 19 August, 2012 Guly needs to run more, very time I see him he is walking the wrong way. Fox needs better protection. Zabeletta is getting by too much
MOSaint Posted 19 August, 2012 Posted 19 August, 2012 Other than the invisible left back, I have no complaints. Working hard enough just can't stop it coming back every time we clear it, which against a team like Man City is going to cost us.
S-Clarke Posted 19 August, 2012 Posted 19 August, 2012 Well. Very poor, we look nervous. Davis struggling, should have narrowed the angle or the goal. Fox and Rodriguez struggling. Clyde doing well, probably the only positive. Not sure what you expect.
Avenue Saint Posted 19 August, 2012 Posted 19 August, 2012 We should be 3 goals down to be fair. NA needs to completely change the format at half time IMHO. And apart from that we'll come back and win 3-2... Jrod looking awful? I don't think so mate...
mulletsaint Posted 19 August, 2012 Posted 19 August, 2012 (edited) Not bad but got very ragged late on. Actually think the Aguero break broke our stride a bit. Think Adam's playing too deep to effect the game in the final third and Morgan has looked a bit off the pace at times. Too much space down our left for them to exploit. Puncheon's touch is appalling too. I'd be tempted to have Ward-Prowse and Morgan sit deep, sometimes they've been caught upfield. Move Lallana left, Lambo on for J Rod and move Guly into the 10 position. 4-2-3-1 Edited 19 August, 2012 by mulletsaint
Bearsy Posted 19 August, 2012 Posted 19 August, 2012 Maybe shaw on for Jay Rod reckon Foxy needs some cover?
Ken Tone Posted 19 August, 2012 Posted 19 August, 2012 I just don't see Fox as a premier league player -- sorry.
Ohio Saint Posted 19 August, 2012 Posted 19 August, 2012 Lallana looks like he will bed in quickly in the Prem
Red and White Russ Posted 19 August, 2012 Posted 19 August, 2012 Clyne looking good. That's about it at the moment. Damage limitation second half please.
Avenue Saint Posted 19 August, 2012 Posted 19 August, 2012 Adkins brave enough to go 4-4-2? don't think so this game, otherwise, Davis for WP, Guly for puncheon, Lambert through middle
VectisSaint Posted 19 August, 2012 Posted 19 August, 2012 Guly needs to run more, very time I see him he is walking the wrong way. Fox needs better protection. Zabeletta is getting by too much Fortunately people who can see more have a different opinion, Guly has been applauded by the commentators (Neville) for his runs off the ball that are not necessarily being seen on the TV. Pls don't start on Guly already, when he is doing quite well and doing what is being asked, there are many more deserving players of criticism.
pingwing Posted 19 August, 2012 Posted 19 August, 2012 Don't look too bad considering this is a city team on a roll. JWP looks a little raw and nervous and fox isn't really at the races (can't wack shaw in really though). Punch looks like he should be sold to Blackpool first thing monday morning to do everyone a favour. Their goal was offside no matter how much the commentators are trying to justify a poor decision, seen them flag for much much more dubious decisions when that one he goes just a little too early.
JustMike Posted 19 August, 2012 Author Posted 19 August, 2012 Jrod looking awful? I don't think so mate... defensively he is
InvictaSaint Posted 19 August, 2012 Posted 19 August, 2012 Pundits saying we should have had a pen for challenge on JRod
VectisSaint Posted 19 August, 2012 Posted 19 August, 2012 I just don't see Fox as a premier league player -- sorry. Scottish international though (ducks to avoid incoming from Kraken when he slimily emerges from the depths of the sea)
S-Clarke Posted 19 August, 2012 Posted 19 August, 2012 defensively he is Which is why he shouldn't play on the left. I hope the addition of new players stops NA using him like this
Webby Posted 19 August, 2012 Posted 19 August, 2012 Very well played saints. I think JWP will be subbed though. Probably see Davis come on.
