doddisalegend Posted 17 August, 2012 Share Posted 17 August, 2012 I thought he did quite well when he went to Notts county on loan end of last season? I'm guessing not well enough if he's going elsewhere. Still while not the most gifted player you'd think he'd be a useful adittion to a lot of league 1 or 2 teams. I wouldn't of thought we'd be asking a lot ofmoney for him. Lets hope he does well and the loan becomes something more long term for him.
The9 Posted 17 August, 2012 Share Posted 17 August, 2012 Also expecting the players without squad numbers to go now (except possibly Dickson due to his twitter comments which suggested he wasn't allowed to), so we may see Reeves and Barnard going out too. I don't think anyone below Championship level can afford his wages tbh, so whilst he had a good spell at Notts, they probably couldn't meet our valuation or his wages. StDunko Posted 17 August, 2012 Share Posted 17 August, 2012 Pleased to see we are strengthening one of Pompey's L1 opponents. Fingers crossed he scores against them (if they're not already toast by the time that fixture comes round).

This Charming Man Posted 17 August, 2012 Share Posted 17 August, 2012 Maybe if we'd offered Forte as part of the Ramirez deal, this would've all been signed, sealed and delivered hours ago.

Turkish Posted 17 August, 2012 Share Posted 17 August, 2012 Gutted. Where are we going to find someone with such lightening pace and incredible strength? His scoring record is second to none for us. We clearly need to sell before we can buy.
ZebadeeRust Posted 17 August, 2012 Share Posted 17 August, 2012 Despite being a Saints fan, I live in Crawley and have slowly been introduced into watching them over the last 4 years or so. The company I work for sponsors the club so I got a ridiculously cheap season ticket this year. Will be interesting to see how he gets on... There's nothing interesting about watching a professional footballer repeatedly fail to control a football. It's embarrassing for him, his fellow team mates and fans. He may have scored 2 goals against MK Dons but there is no getting away from the fact that he's an horrific player.

This Charming Man Posted 17 August, 2012 Share Posted 17 August, 2012 Ahh well, he runs more than Guly and has a really cool song anyway. It's irrelevant what you do with the ball. As long as you run a lot and clap the fans - that's all we ask.

The9 Posted 18 August, 2012 Share Posted 18 August, 2012 Sorry Crawley. Not sure what you have done wrong A quick Google will tell you. Massive expenditure in the Conference, no fans, and the most obnoxious and odious manager possible at the time. Even so, giving them Johnno is a gift at that level. SNSUN Posted 18 August, 2012 Share Posted 18 August, 2012 Scored today. I get the feeling I'm going to miss the lower leagues this season. I loved the football down there, the feeling we can win every week, and where the likes of Forte are actually good. Good for him.
ZebadeeRust Posted 18 August, 2012 Share Posted 18 August, 2012 Crawley may have had a lot of investment back in the conference But they've made a fair bit too with the sales of Wes Thomas, Matt Tubbs & Tyron Barnett & compensation for Sean O'Driscol sodding off to Forest. Also not forgetting that FA cup tie at old Trafford made enough money in a single game to offset that whole conference winning expenditure. Not exactly Pompey style is it? Crowds at the Broadfield have quadrupled since the conference also. You're right about Steve Evens though. Bit of a bulb and no mistake. At least he's not Crawley's problem now though. I know what you mean......it's like going back 10 years being back in the PL were I wonder how many goals we can keep the opposition down to ...rather than the last few seasons where our players were some of the best in the league and we wondered how many we might win by. StDunko Posted 19 August, 2012 Share Posted 19 August, 2012 The fact that two of the players we have just released out on loan both scored on their debuts does make me feel happy about the quality we now have in the squad. Only four years ago Forte and Barnard would have probably been in our starting XI rather than being 5th and 6th choice strikers.
