I'm obviously hoping we manage to get something from the game, but can't say I expect us to. Defending champions, first game of the season, I can see this being 4 or 5.

How many opening games have we won in the last 20 years ? To be fair, beating Wigan is far more important, and possibly a draw with the Arse : 4 points from the opening 4 games would be very much 'on target' so long as we aren't tanked by Citeh and Manure and end up with a GD of -12 by the end of the month.

Our aim is a a fraction over a point per game and we will stay up. Need to win as many as possible at home, and beat a couple around us away from home.

win 9 home games and draw 4 and pick up 9 points on the road? Please :)

Expecting a big beating, but then again on the last game of last season I expected them to beat QPR about 6-0 and they nearly fuc&ed it up .

Two, I believe.

1-0 to Saints is 33-1 ... I fancy a tenner on that!

Just give me the tenner instead mate.

They conceded 12 goals at home last season, dropped 2 points at home last season and scored a sh*tload of goals in the process. It's damage limitation on Sunday.

Just like the good old days...this feels much more natural than the last few seasons with talk of promotion, 2pts a game averages, expecting to win and feeling a draw was a s hit result. This is much more like supporting saints in the old days with all this talk of how many goals can we keep the opposition down to, avoiding relegation and lets hope we get just over a point a game....

For what it's worth I can see losing 3 - something.... I reckon we've got a goal (or two) in us I just think we will leak like a sieve at the back.

Yeah I know, but opening day shocker and all that! Maybe a tenner is a bit excessive ;)

Man City to dandy around the pitch in complete disdain of us until Ricky smashes one in the back of the net from a Fox cross, then they wake up and give us a hiding without actually scoring untill the 93rd minute when the ref gives them the dodgiest of penno decisions and they equalise.

1-1 and NA causes a row by using the post match comments to accuse Citeh of being a bunch of overpaid disrespectful cheats.

The Saints coach speeds out of Manc land rather sharpish as the locals go ape.

Then again.................probably be 5-0 to Citeh.

I really don't think it matters what the result is Sunday, as long as we learn and come back and beat Wigan, our first aim is just getting 38 points, just one point a game average, I'm confident we will have at least 7 points (probably more) after our first seven games

I don't mind losing as long as we're not embarrassed. I would love it if we had something to celebrate in the stands though, so scoring first or getting an equaliser at some point in the game would be a real highlight.

No point in analysing the man city score,or the scores against any of the other big boys,Manu, arse, spurs etc etc as they are not the games we are expected to win.

Wigan,Swansea,Norwich, hammers, reading, etc etc are the games I will be more disappointed in losing and if we do lose to any of the lower teams we know that either they have done better in the transfer market than us or we are just plain sh!t.

Every lower tier team always manage to get a shocking result against one of the big boys so perhaps it could be our day but I'm going to go with 5-0 city.

Probably get nagged at for stating this - but Swansea lost 4-0 at City in their first game last season and did fine. What I'm saying is, if we do get a going over - which I suspect may be the case - it is not the end of the world.

I'm not saying that losing 4-0 means we will do as well as Swansea or anything like that, but let's not get carried away. They have an unbelievable front line, and our weakness at the moment is our back line. IMO, it's going to be a torrid day for Saints.

That said, I'll be over the moon if I am made to look a mug, and I'll be watching happily either way because it will mean WE ARE PREMIER LEAGUE!!
