Just got back, my mate got me a free ticket at the Pompey game. Barney went absolutely mental when he scored, raring it right up, they absolutely hated it! He'd been getting absolute pelters all game and just let it all come out. Top lad.

Good stuff

We're they all in unison for hating Scummers?

Hands across the M27 and all that

Or we're Pompey and Bompey not liking each other

How good or bad each team?

Plenty of anti-scum songs from Pompey. Bompey were quiet as churchmice until they scored. I left soon after the Barney goal, but there were many stewards dispatched in the corner between the two sets of fans, looked like it might kick off. Not much common ground in hating us at all!

Pompey looked really good in the first half. Brian Howard was excellent, too good for League 1. MustHaveA DumbBuyer was actually decent, Long at centre-back looked good, Harley played well. Williamson was very good but absolutely knackered midway through the second half. Lee Rodgers was awful, Izale McLeod ok. Pompey were all over them in the first half, much more even in the second half and but for some very poor shooting Bompey could have got mroe out of the game.

Bournemouth looked terrible in the first half, completely overrun. Much better second half but I wouldn't be putting any money on them going up on that showing.

I was disappointed to see no booking for unsporting behaviour for him after the goal on the bbc live feed I was watching. Was it hand to ear/finger to mouth stuff?

A bit more to be fair. He ran over to the sidelines, jumped into the arms of the player who delivered the cross and was giving it loads of "come on" and "get in there", plenty of fist clenching. No swearing, disappointingly. He got a bottle chucked at him for his efforts, much like Pompey's shooting it missed by a fair bit.

LOL. Fairytale stuff.

Well done Lee Barnard for p*ssing in the cheaters pool.

Still a Saint at heart.

Bompey have got themselves a decent little team there, they should score bags of goals with their forwards.

Doubt they'll be promoted. Paul Groves isn't much of a manager, Mitchell doesn't know what he's doing appointing him. He didn't know what he was doing when he handed Lee Bradbury a three year deal only to sack him a few months later.

Nice interview with Barney on Solent after the match to paraphrase ...Last season frustrating due to injuries, loves playing for Southampton, would still like to be a saints player, loved it when the skates gave him ****, happy to be playing again ...see where this loan takes him bournemouth a good club.

Listening to it on solent they wasted a lot of chances should have scored 3-4. Barney sounded a class above. Still think he could do a job in the championship if he could stay injury free and get a decent run out.

That is brilliant.

One downside of our success is players like Barnard becoming surplus..

My Bournemouth supporting mate said he had a really good game yesterday, chasing everything down in his usual way and generally looking a threat. Apparently Barnie is treating the loan as a way to get match sharpness with a view to coming back here in January to compete for a first team slot (although that's likely to be a tad optimistic).

WTF @ the bompey keeper for the first goal? Abysmal.

Shwan is a great bloke. He knew my friend was a Bournemouth fan so turned up to his birthday party at our halls of residence at uni.

In terms of ability he was by a mile the best goalkeeper in League Two... And that's about it.

Interesting to note that Bournemouth are picking up the entire tab for Barnard's wages during his loan spell (very unusual for a player dropping two divisions) - somewhere in the region of £13k a week :uhoh:

That's fine. He can get match fit, put himself in the shop window and they have to pay for it, sending them further and further towards another administration.

I think Bompey could easily be very much on a fast track to emulating our friends from the other end of the M27.

Having watched them against Pompey I'd stick my neck out and say that they won't be getting promoted anytime soon. They were horrendous and very lucky to get a point.

Said it before, **** poor management. They're signing anyone that sounds vaguely good, mixed in with some non-league players that they reckon might cut it one day.
