georgeweahscousin Posted 15 August, 2012 Posted 15 August, 2012 I have spoken to fans of all our Premier League opponents.... Interesting to see how they view us. Part 1:- http://wp.me/p1mFFL-pH
Turkish Posted 15 August, 2012 Posted 15 August, 2012 (edited) Who is that Fulham helmet that called us a dormant club? I hope you put him right George. Edited 15 August, 2012 by Turkish
Bearsy Posted 15 August, 2012 Posted 15 August, 2012 Lol he got up my nose too! I can take the Arsenal and Chelsea fans being faintly patronising... but ****ing Fulham! ****!
Colinjb Posted 15 August, 2012 Posted 15 August, 2012 Saying we may struggle, yes, fair enough.... but dormant!?
Turkish Posted 15 August, 2012 Posted 15 August, 2012 Lol he got up my nose too! I can take the Arsenal and Chelsea fans being faintly patronising... but ****ing Fulham! ****! Fulham are now my most hated club. Arrogant fans.
toe_punt Posted 15 August, 2012 Posted 15 August, 2012 He's American.... Having lived in the U.S. for the last thirty years I often wonder why Brits have this sense of superiority. Strange...... To be fair to the Fulham guy, what did he say that was inaccurate? We will struggle mightily with our current defence, and it's almost too late to strengthen.
ericofarabia Posted 15 August, 2012 Posted 15 August, 2012 He's American.... I wondered what an offseason was, that explains it!!

To be fair to the Fulham guy, what did he say that was inaccurate? We will struggle mightily with our current defence, and it's almost too late to strengthen. We have the sense of superiority when we talk football.... Like I'm sure they won't like and out and out Englishman telling them the crack about the Miami dolphins
hypochondriac Posted 15 August, 2012 Posted 15 August, 2012 We have the sense of superiority when we talk football.... Like I'm sure they won't like and out and out Englishman telling them the crack about the Miami dolphins True. Also the fact that we went and colonised their land so they wouldn't actually exist without the English...

alpine_saint Posted 15 August, 2012 Posted 15 August, 2012 Dont understand the aggression towards the Fulham fan. He's right - we have dozed off / gone dormant over the summer.
Turkish Posted 15 August, 2012 Posted 15 August, 2012 Dont understand the aggression towards the Fulham fan. He's right - we have dozed off / gone dormant over the summer. He is an American bulb.
alpine_saint Posted 15 August, 2012 Posted 15 August, 2012 He is an American bulb. Well, what of it ?
SO16_Saint Posted 15 August, 2012 Posted 15 August, 2012 Doesn't dormant normally imply that you are about to explode on to the world scene in spectacular fashion?
alpine_saint Posted 15 August, 2012 Posted 15 August, 2012 Doesn't dormant normally imply that you are about to explode on to the world scene in spectacular fashion? Well, yeeees, but "extinct" hardly fits the bill either..
Jack Posted 15 August, 2012 Posted 15 August, 2012 Well, yeeees, but "extinct" hardly fits the bill either.. No, that adjective is best saved for the few down the road.
Turkish Posted 15 August, 2012 Posted 15 August, 2012 Well, what of it ? If I ever see him I'll iron him out. As that is highly unlikely to happen I'll just have to be content with telling him exactly what I think of him and what I'd do to him from behind my keyboard. And Foolham (lol) are now my most hated team.
SO16_Saint Posted 15 August, 2012 Posted 15 August, 2012 No, that adjective is best saved for the few down the road. Beat me to it. Rather be dormant than extinct.
RobM Posted 15 August, 2012 Posted 15 August, 2012 Dormant means not active or not growing, so if this very forum is to be believed, that's correct. This forum tells us our transfer activity is poor and we'll struggle this season, it tells us it's just the same as it was two years ago and it tells us we haven't done well enough in pre-season. Seems like the Fulham fan agrees with that sentiment.
Fan The Flames Posted 15 August, 2012 Posted 15 August, 2012 He clearly meant that we've had a quiet time on the transfer front.
Turkish Posted 15 August, 2012 Posted 15 August, 2012 Fulham have spent £0 this window They are still my most hated club. Don't they have any long term injured players to return, like we have in Lee, that will be just like having a new signing?
Bearsy Posted 15 August, 2012 Posted 15 August, 2012 That's what's so arrogant bout them, they think they don't need to spend big £ on Championship players or have returning injured players that will be just like having new signings. They think even without all that they're still better than dormant clubs like Southampton! (Their manager is cool tho!)
Lazlo78 Posted 15 August, 2012 Posted 15 August, 2012 I have spoken to fans of all our Premier League opponents.... Interesting to see how they view us. Part 1:- http://wp.me/p1mFFL-pH A very good appetizer for the season ahead - thanks!
Flyer Posted 16 August, 2012 Posted 16 August, 2012 Fulham are now my most hated club. Arrogant fans. All you have to do is mention their away support if you want to shut them up, they sometimes struggle to take 3 figures in games north of the midlands.
JustMike Posted 16 August, 2012 Posted 16 August, 2012 The chap from Everton seems OK and the Villa bloke appears to know what he is talking about (RE:Adkins)
JustMike Posted 16 August, 2012 Posted 16 August, 2012 Doesn't dormant normally imply that you are about to explode on to the world scene in spectacular fashion? yes, that's how I see it too
JPTCount Posted 16 August, 2012 Posted 16 August, 2012 interesting but these are just a view from a fan from each club, rather than fans. and I didn't read past arsenal tbh, not a fan of coloured text. it looks like a young girl wrote it with her new collection of gel pens.
OldNick Posted 16 August, 2012 Posted 16 August, 2012 I thought the Fulham fan was correct. There are not many teams that I would feel confident that we can beat and so stay up. Initially i felt we were going to buy a few players and strengthen, sadly that has fallen away and hence we may do poorly. NA's job is under threat IMO and perhaps the club is keeping its powder dry.

chocco boxo Posted 16 August, 2012 Posted 16 August, 2012 As long as we not a door mat for other teams I don't care what other fans think!
AussieDog Posted 16 August, 2012 Posted 16 August, 2012 If the Championship is that poor that we need to replace virtually our whole team upon promotion, as several vociferous posters would claim, then how come the 3 relegated premiership teams don't all get promoted the following year?
The9 Posted 16 August, 2012 Posted 16 August, 2012 If the Championship is that poor that we need to replace virtually our whole team upon promotion, as several vociferous posters would claim, then how come the 3 relegated premiership teams don't all get promoted the following year? Because they often lose key players to Premier League clubs on relegation (though it is happening less now due to the bigger parachute payments).
Miltonaggro Posted 16 August, 2012 Posted 16 August, 2012 Give the septic a break chaps, it is the offseason, FFS...
The9 Posted 16 August, 2012 Posted 16 August, 2012 Who is that Fulham helmet that called us a dormant club? I hope you put him right George. Not a dormant CLUB, just being dormant in the transfer market compared to Reading and West Ham. Though Reading haven't actually signed many for a while either.

Part 1:- http://wp.me/p1mFFL-pH Enjoyable read, thanks. Interesting to see how other fans view us. More interesting, apart from the Fulham fan all think we'll stay up. In a way we have been dormant on the transfer front, only 3 signing so far, we do need a few more to strengthen.....

Ken Tone Posted 17 August, 2012 Posted 17 August, 2012 Thanks for both of these george -- an intreresting read, and some good humour from some of them in reply to the "stuck in rivals' ground" question.
Flyer Posted 17 August, 2012 Posted 17 August, 2012 Heres a QPR view on Saints and all teams, its worth reading the last line for every team. "If they were a monarch from history… Philip V of Spain: Ruled for 24 years with only minor scrapes along the way, disappeared for a bit when his son Louis (Portsmouth) took over the throne. Returned for a further 22 years after Louis’ sudden death."

jjsaint Posted 17 August, 2012 Posted 17 August, 2012 Wow all this Fulham hating! How can you hate a club that call themselves 'the Cottagers'!! Anyway they should be looking at their own club - especially if they sell Dempsey. I imagine like their nickname they'll spend most of the season in the bottom area.
St Marco Posted 17 August, 2012 Posted 17 August, 2012 Interesting read. Most seem more positive about our chances then some of our own fans on here!
georgeweahscousin Posted 18 August, 2012 Author Posted 18 August, 2012 Part 3:- http://georgeweahscousin.com/2012/08/18/premier-league-preview-part-3/
Lazlo78 Posted 18 August, 2012 Posted 18 August, 2012 Very enjoyable read. Thanks for making the effort of getting feedback from all 20 clubs!
georgeweahscousin Posted 18 August, 2012 Author Posted 18 August, 2012 19 I'm afraid! No West Ham! http://georgeweahscousin.com/2012/08/18/premier-league-preview-part-4/
Spudders Posted 18 August, 2012 Posted 18 August, 2012 were they all too busy fishing for jellied eels to provide an opinion?
