JRM Posted 15 August, 2012 Posted 15 August, 2012 I'd fancy Crawley away I think, if not then Plymouth at home. Draw is made 12.30 today apparently so should provide some excitement.
smackalec Posted 15 August, 2012 Posted 15 August, 2012 Hopefully drawn away at ground I've never been to. Is the draw still regional? Oxford or Crawley.
JRM Posted 15 August, 2012 Author Posted 15 August, 2012 Doesn't appear to be regional, but it is seeded, who is up for carlise away? http://www.leeds.vitalfootball.co.uk/article.asp?a=289983
skintsaint Posted 15 August, 2012 Posted 15 August, 2012 anyone easy at home as this cup is our best chance of getting into Europe this season....worked well for Brum.
JRM Posted 15 August, 2012 Author Posted 15 August, 2012 Buying league cup 2nd round tickets should come with extra loyalty points as well.
Yeovil Saint Posted 15 August, 2012 Posted 15 August, 2012 It isn't regional, but is seeded and for the first time in years, we're seeded. We'll get one of the teams that finished 18th or lower in last year's Championship or we in last year's League One or League Two. There are 25 such clubs. Barnsley Bradford City Burton Albion Carlisle United Coventry City Crawley Town Doncaster Rovers Crewe Alexandra Gillingham Leyton Orient Milton Keynes Dons Morecambe Northampton Town Nottingham Forest Oxford United Peterborough United Plymouth Argyle Preston North End S****horpe United Sheffield Wednesday Stevenage Swindon Town Tranmere Rovers Walsall Yeovil Town If not Yeovil away, to make my travel easier, I quite fancy us going to Peterborough again.
Bucks Saint Posted 15 August, 2012 Posted 15 August, 2012 Don't fancy Plymouth too much - they are on fire
JRM Posted 15 August, 2012 Author Posted 15 August, 2012 Games played between Wigan and Man Utd at home, bank holiday week. If they do offer loyalty points for this could help with Arsenal away tickets especially for those not doing Man City
ericofarabia Posted 15 August, 2012 Posted 15 August, 2012 Games played between Wigan and Man Utd at home, bank holiday week. If they do offer loyalty points for this could help with Arsenal away tickets especially for those not doing Man City 4 days before I fly back ..... and the 3rd Round if we are still in it is the day I fly back to Dubai. Destined not to see a game whilst I'm back - except Man U in a Leigh pub full of Man U fans (and hopefully some Citeh and Liverpool fans as well!! )- what could go wrong!!
Thedelldays Posted 15 August, 2012 Posted 15 August, 2012 Plymouth away please Capital One Cup. What a Horrid name
ericofarabia Posted 15 August, 2012 Posted 15 August, 2012 don't fancy plymouth too much - they are on fire lol.
This Charming Man Posted 15 August, 2012 Posted 15 August, 2012 Morecombe or Oxford away please. Almost nailed on to be MK Dons at home, we never get decent away draws in the cup.
JRM Posted 15 August, 2012 Author Posted 15 August, 2012 I thought the draw was Saturday 12.30?! http://www.capitalonecup.co.uk/news/article/round-2-draw-details-14082012-311642.aspx It is today
This Charming Man Posted 15 August, 2012 Posted 15 August, 2012 Morecombe or Oxford away please. Almost nailed on to be MK Dons at home, we never get decent away draws in the cup. Scrap that, I want Burton as they have a terrace and supposed to have some quality boozers.
JRM Posted 15 August, 2012 Author Posted 15 August, 2012 League 2 team away please. we must be due to play Northampton again soon surely?
Thedelldays Posted 15 August, 2012 Posted 15 August, 2012 I bet who ever it is. Loads of us will say...... Boring
rshephard3 Posted 15 August, 2012 Posted 15 August, 2012 It's bound to be Yeovil. Just got one of those feelings.
VectisSaint Posted 15 August, 2012 Posted 15 August, 2012 Plymouth away please Capital One Cup. What a Horrid name They tried to shorten it to just the initial letters, but seems like COCup wasn't well received.
This Charming Man Posted 15 August, 2012 Posted 15 August, 2012 They started yet? Stuck at work and bloody Sky Go isn't working.
Nexstar Posted 15 August, 2012 Posted 15 August, 2012 They started yet? Stuck at work and bloody Sky Go isn't working. Not yet, they won't shut up talking about cricket.
This Charming Man Posted 15 August, 2012 Posted 15 August, 2012 Not yet, they won't shut up talking about cricket. Ah right. Doubt anything will be done until the Strauss press conference is over then.
This Charming Man Posted 15 August, 2012 Posted 15 August, 2012 At f*cking last. A decent away game in the cup and a new ground for me. I'm happy with this. Without seeing the draw, surely this will be on the box?
Sour Mash Posted 15 August, 2012 Posted 15 August, 2012 Absolute dump of a town, dull little ground, tough game for us to get through.
ByTheGolacs Posted 15 August, 2012 Posted 15 August, 2012 20 miles north of London, in Hertfordshire. Direct trains from Kings Cross in 20-odd minutes. Ground is 5 minutes off A1 junction 7.
Saint Malc Posted 15 August, 2012 Posted 15 August, 2012 At f*cking last. A decent away game in the cup and a new ground for me. I'm happy with this. Without seeing the draw, surely this will be on the box? Great draw for me. With Wigan Athletic in February and Stevenage that'll be 80 current grounds I've seen Saints play in. I don't much care for Stevenage though. Until a couple of years ago, when they dropped the Borough bit, we were the only SFC.
stkev7 Posted 15 August, 2012 Posted 15 August, 2012 I've seen our reserves play Spurs there in the past. Typical non-league style ground with sod all around it. No excitement but easy to get to.
Lets B Avenue Posted 15 August, 2012 Posted 15 August, 2012 20 miles north of London, in Hertfordshire. Direct trains from Kings Cross in 20-odd minutes. Ground is 5 minutes off A1 junction 7. Havent done that journey since trips to Knebworth in the 70's.
This Charming Man Posted 15 August, 2012 Posted 15 August, 2012 Absolute dump of a town, dull little ground, tough game for us to get through. I'm chuffed with this. New ground for me and only need a half day off work.

LGTL Posted 15 August, 2012 Posted 15 August, 2012 How many tickets should we be expecting? Ground Guide states around 1400, would be nice to get decent numbers up there as I assume it'll be a new ground for many.

Ground Guide states around 1400, would be nice to get decent numbers up there as I assume it'll be a new ground for many. thats about right number, unfortunately the away end is a new seated stand, but games i've seen there away fans tend to stand, Accrington Stanley even let off a flare in the play offs. the only home fans that make any noise are in the side stand terrace to the right of the away end facing the pitch. would imagine we'd take at least a 1000 there with it still being school holidays and potentially another game to earn points for Arsenal priority
ericofarabia Posted 15 August, 2012 Posted 15 August, 2012 Havent done that journey since trips to Knebworth in the 70's. Great minds etc ....... Did you do Pink Floyd /Capt Beefheart/ Steve Miller / Roy Harper gig in 75? I probably stood / sat next to you at the gig and on the trains LOL
This Charming Man Posted 15 August, 2012 Posted 15 August, 2012 It is North of Watford so doubt we will sell it out.
The Cat Posted 15 August, 2012 Posted 15 August, 2012 Quality draw, I always like playing lower league teams away and this comes with the added bonus of being a new ground for me.
