Gingeletiss Posted 14 August, 2012 Share Posted 14 August, 2012 http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/technology-19257769 Hypersonic jet WaveRider is to undergo another test flight above the Pacific Ocean aiming to reach Mach 6. At this speed - more than 4,300mph (6,900km/h) - it could travel from London to New York in about an hour. Will help my travelling to Australia.. Minty Posted 14 August, 2012 Share Posted 14 August, 2012 Will help my travelling to Australia.. Only if you're planning on travelling to Australia still in 2050... gonna be awhile before we see any commercial implementation methinks.
Pugwash Posted 14 August, 2012 Share Posted 14 August, 2012 "The WaveRider test flight is expected to last for about five minutes. At the end of it, the aircraft will break into pieces and fall into the Pacific." Hmmm, I think I'll wait until they improve it a bit...
