30% sell on to Penarol? I can't see us agreeing that. That's a lot. Would be better to pay the additional 1.5m now. If he's as good as reports say and we sell him for say 21m, we'll lose 7m to Penarol.

I just looked on football manager and he does not have a Spanish passport. As Italian MLG wouldn't be wrong, I withdraw my statement and am now off to throw myself upon a sword.

No! Don't do it!

On second thoughts....................................................

We are gonna be Soooooooooooooooooo disappointed when he signs and finally plays, and doesn't come out onto the pitch with his underpants on the outside, a big S on his shirt where aap3 should be and a a red cape

Is that a sexual euphemism Tokyo-Saint?

Don't think he needs a permit?

I am absolutely certain that in one of the many Italian gibberish articles, that I read he has an Italian permit/visa. Now that seems to have been quashed today with the talk that he'll need a permit (that's come via his agent)

I'm just going to blame that as being something else lost in translation.

Seems like the story has gathered some real momentum. Sticking with my feeling this will happen.

Like yourself, stuck my neck out with a yes vote on the poll and backed it up with my reasoning here.

Whether he signs or not, I don't think anyone who is now treating this transfer as outside the realms of possibility. If it breaks down, it is not because Southampton FC can't get a player at this level.

If it fails that will be of great comfort.

This will easily go over 100 pages today.

I am hoping that this turns out to be a great signing and he is the player we think he is.

This is probably the point where you'd go running to a mod screaming "sarcasm".

Enjoy your day, hypo.

The Italians may well have looser rules than we do. Unless he is actually an EU passport holder, he wil need a permit under uk rules which tend to be tighter than in most of the other bib Europeans football countries

So IF thus is all true and we capture this fella, where does he play, because I see himon the youtube vid as a lefty, who can play on the right.

Mileage does tend to vary. Know that Russia is not part of the EU, but they seem to be at the other end of the scale when it comes to foreign imports.

Maybe International Clearance rather than a work permit. I remember we had to get int clearance for Steven D from Rangers.

Slots straight in for Jay Rodriguez on the left IMO. But as you said, he can also play right, in behind or as a ST. He's that sort of all covered front 3 type of player, will fit perfectly into the formation we're trying. He's the sort of player you need to make that formation work in the first place.

Play him on left or right then? GULY is no good at RM and JRod is not a LM
