Jimmy_D Posted 24 August, 2012 Share Posted 24 August, 2012 But there is no way he will sell to Southampton 'in this way I will sell him to Southampton' I think the context is he's not going to sell him to Southampton just because the player wants to leave. Doesn't mean he won't come if the deal is right. This is reminding me more and more of the Walcott or Ox transfers, except this time we're stood on the other side of the fence. That's really great news as it means we've moved to the second step in the process. At this rate I'm very confident that we'll be at step 12 by 31st August ............ 2015. 1. Deal Off 2. Interrupted 3. Discontinued 4. Postponed 5. Stalled 6. Suspended 7. Deadlocked 8. Hanging in the balance 9. Delayed 10. Imminent 11. Almost there 12. Tokyo-Saint Posted 24 August, 2012 Share Posted 24 August, 2012 Just as I think it's going ahead, Simon Peach says it's over! I think the Bologna chairman does not want to be the bad guy with the fans and be seen to sell their best player unless he is really forced to. Even then he needs to be seen to be getting the best deal possible. Think a lot of the drama is based around him wanting to show to the fans he was not a soft touch but had no other choice but to sell.

S-Clarke Posted 24 August, 2012 Share Posted 24 August, 2012 Clarkey why are u so sure that Phillips and Ramirez will come in the end? I hope you're right matey just wondering why ur so sure. Because it's obvious. Bolonga have a player on strike. He won't train or play for them anymore. We have the only offer on the table, which is 2.5m euro short of what they want in terms of a net fee. We've agreed the contract with the player. The player has been over and has been sold the whole package. The closer we get ot the end of the window, Bolonga will realise that what we've offered is better than nothing and having an unhappy moping around for 6 months. (value potentially decreasing). The talk of other clubs being interested is just that, talk. They're playing games to try and force our hand. We won't budge and they will be forced to take it at the end of the day. Basically, nothing has changed. Just fresh quotes saying the exactly the same as he did on Monday, just worded slightly differently.

Southampton, who nosed ahead of Liverpool and Tottenham in the race to land Ramirez, were reported to be on the verge of signing the Uruguayan last week, with the player himself admitting that he was looking forward to turning out for the newly-promoted side. However, Bologna swiftly scotched suggestions that an agreement was in place, and president Guaraldi is adamant that the player’s agent negotiated with Southampton behind his back. Albano Guaraldi, president of Bologna, told Italian TV channel Sky Sport 24: "Gaston is very angry with me. His agent has dealt with Southampton unbeknownst to us, the player threatened not to play for us anymore and I tried to explain the situation. "I cannot sell the player without financial guarantees, on terms which suit Bologna. Now let’s look at other options. There are ongoing negotiations, only a few informal chats from foreign clubs." Personally I've given up on this and will be glad when the transfer window shuts. Saying that and trying to stay positive, I am sure NA has got other names on his list, but it does beg the question, why do clubs leave it right down to the wire to get targets in?, the final day of the transfer window is a joke with all these last minute deals and faxes being sent trying to get deals done in time.
