Doubt there will be much on this one today, ifs at the stage where one party or the other needs to budge slightly. Hopefully nobody else will register interest. Maybe Gaston will demand to leave?

I just purchased Ramirez on FM12 in two days for 6m quid....think I should get involved and do the haggling.

 

Seriously though, I expect him to be a Saints player by the end of the month, if anyone else wanted him they would of jumped in by now.

Possibly. But people are forgetting that bologna officials had that match fixing trial to attend yesterday, which may explain why there were so many rehashed reports and nothing really changed. May pick up again today, although I still expect it to drag on

Lets face it, it's off unless Bologna change their demands about how the deal is structured and want to come back. Maybe they will but wont be for a week a least as we've shown our hand. They can now wait to see if anyone else comes in

If you don't have it then you can't pay it!We want a CB, RW as well so he probably hopes nobody else comes in before the deadline so Bologna will buckle first.

Wouldn't surprise me if we just said, forget it. We then go out and get a very good CB and winger for top dollar to prove we have funds, an then with 2 / 3 days of the window remaining, go back, slap in a lower fee and see what happens.

They aren't asking for it all at once though are they, they want proof we will pay it over time.

 

Everyones already agreed the bloody fee! All they seem to want is a garuntee that they won't get ****ed over again.

I think the fee and payment structure can/will be sorted but we are taking an awful risk that other clubs will come in for him. As with Rodriguez and Cork, if no other clubs come in then he is ours. IMHO the whole deal hinges on this more so than the terms of our potential deal. Saying that, 60 pages of 80% rumours and 20% fact is hardly a good platform to base a sensible opinion on.

Could still happen in the same way I could get six numbers up tonight. I would imagine it's not as dead in the water as some think though.

And as much as anything, if we only had X amount left to spend on players, a CB would be the priority and we wouldn't even be looking at this fella..... Cash ain't the problem!

Going to be just like the Büttner case, we'll do all the spade work and all the acceptable details will be thrashed out, then it will stumble on some trifle and a 'big' club will just step in and sign on the dotted line and dish out the necessary bungs which we wouldn't do.

Especially now that the fee, contract length, and wage has been leaked. Good point.

That's irrelevant though Ginge, they're dealing with us not them. For all they know we'll get relegated and won't feel like paying the bill cos we'll have a bigger wage bill etc. They won't care about things like parchute payments.

Wouldnt it be better just to pay 6 Million for Phillips and wedge up the wages Citeh want to get in Adam Johnson ?? Much cheaper as well .

Ah, so that's more like it.

 

Bologna are cash strapped so want a loan to the value of what we are willing to pay for Ramirez but the banks know they don't have any cash/assets so it's the bank wanting the guarantee that we will pay Bologna the money.

 

Slightly ironic IMHO but Italy are in the ****e finacially....

The whole gfc could have been avoided if people only sold things to people who could afford them

Part of me doe believe that FIFA should in effect make it a rule of transfers that full fee paid up front - if you cant afford it or need loans to fund it - you cant have the player end of - woyuld see fees come down to more realistic levels and less clubs over extending themselves or setting up a debt legacy if relegated. Also transfer window shoudl close before season starts etc.....

But ŷou are not selling an asset for £20m. You never will or know what any detail of a multi-million football transfer either

 

This is not monopoly. Plenty upon plenty transfers drag out. We are not alone here

If the tweet I quoted was truthful ( big if I guess) then the amount of fee was settled its just some guarantees are wanted by bologna then that suggests cortese is being stubborn and not wanting to give in

 

We also obviously wanted and basically agreed deals with buttner and that fell through

 

Maybe as suggested in another thread the club should give some basic updates about things in the public domain
