If Ramirez is rumoured to be off to the scousers for 50% more than what we offered good luck to him, He'll spend a lot of time sitting on their bench. Lets go get Adam Johnson especially if Adebayor cost only 5Mill. I'm sure we could get Johnson for the same fee as we offered Bologna......His wages may be an issue though.

Heaven's no, Johnson is in no way worth €18m. Mind you with Sinclair off to Citeh to be a bench warmer I bet Johnson feels his bench warming position is under threat.

Poll added, nail your colours to that mast.

Can't you add a "Maybe" option ;-)

Last PM I sent was to the Kraken two weeks ago.

Fair enough, but who says the deals dead? Or is that statement in your opinion?

Not particularly aimed at you, but it amazes me the amount of people that claim to have inside information, the MW and crouch days leaked information like a sieve, however unless you are NC, NA or one of the few high end saints staff nobody will know what's going on.

Just a simple opinion borne from experience of these type of threads.

I'm saying no, purely because I think we need to move on and bring in other targets. I just think we cannot protract the negotiations any further. As good a signing as I think it would be, we have other areas far more in need of addressing.

As people keep saying, we can do more than one deal at any one time. Where has this come from that clubs can only work on 1 deal at any one time? Of course it doesn't work like that. Clubs have loads of deals going on at the same time, some happen, some don't - but it's silly to think that you can only work on 1 transfer at a time.

I know but given that there has been a fair amount of speculation on every deal we have done so far, I'm starting to get a little twitchy that all our efforts are being focussed on getting this one over the line. Not working on any inside info, just a feeling. Happy to be proven wrong of course.

These kind of comments are ridiculous. Your basing your opinion on whether it happens or not on the basis that you think we will be spending 100% of our time of the Ramirez deal?

This thread is turning into carnage! I find it highly amusing how everyone is falling out over a player that might or might not

be joining us.

One day we will all look back at this and have a right good chuckle!

Reason being he's a special player who only last year we could only dream of. He's the type of player who'll make a BIG difference.

I've been positive since the day it was announced but today I have just lost all confidence and resigned to the fact he just isn't gonna come here. Hugely disappointed but I trust The Don and NA to sort out the other positions and have a successful season. We proved on Sunday that we have more than enough quality for a successful first season back at this level and maybe after 1 year in the PL, we'll be able to attract even bigger names here next summer?

Regardless if we have or we haven't, I don't think it can be argued that we already spent a considerable amount of time on it. I'm just not going to be logging on, checking this thread constantly for updates and then start crying when it doesn't happen. Bologna know the deal on the table. It might not appeal that much to them now, but if they are in financial dire straits as is reported, one assumes it will look a damn sight better on Thursday/Friday next week, as long as no other offers are made for him in the meantime by anyone else.

Sky Sports understands Tottenham are lining up a move for Shakhtar Donetsk ace Willian. We will bring you more on this story shortly.

Great little player. Little, pacey number.

Can play either side or as a striker. Would be a great replacement for Modric - would love to see him in the PL.

So you do think we'll sign him? Even if you say so, doesn't mean you have to keep coming on here checking.

He may be a BIG player (by the way how many times have you seen him play?), but is it worth everyone kicking off with each other?

If he signs great, if not move on! I'm not going to loose sleep over it.

How many of you secretly convincing yourself there's still some legs in this and going to keep checking this thread till 23:30pm?

I'll keep an eye on it but I won't be expecting anything. Don't think it's over yet but people need to chillax on here! Whatever happens happens I'm sure we have plan b, c, d. Our management team are no idiots!

With large transactions, it does make it harder -less in terms of the time needed to negotiate than the uncertainty it creates over how much money there is to finance deals, especially if the transaction represents a large chunk of your transfer budget. Hard to be taken seriously if your money is limited and people know you have other preferred options.

Not sure I can agree there, he does have the clubs interest at heart, although I'm sure he's extremely stubborn though.

FWIW I voted yes.

He does have the clubs interests at heart yes, he is stubborn yes, but sometimes to achieve the best interests of the club you have to put your stubborness to one side. And I'm not sure NC will do that.

Says he is indispensable then admits should they receive an acceptable offer that they already have a potential replacement lined up.

It will take a big big offer though. Let's see how serious Cortese is about his European dreams....

Has he said Europe this year? I've backed us to win the league, so trust me I don't lack ambition! (I collect £83k if we do win it) ;)
