And Nixon still thinks it'll go through! He must have some pretty decent information as every other piece of info is against him at this moment in time!

@reluctantnicko: @Jayrodfan2 @danbsfc Bologna want a sale. U want to buy him. Players seems fine with terms. It's called 'negotiation.'

@reluctantnicko: @danbsfc Deals go on like this all the time. Don't stress. Let Bologna guy and his bank manager think what 12m means ... and wait for call.

I reckon Jaidi is sending him DM's.

In all seriousness Nixon is saying that it is negotiation - they leak that there is interest elsewhere and see what happens. End of the day, 12m is hard for them to turn down, and thats on the table from us.

And, so far, nobody else.

We're set up for a decent deal or a gazumping, so - in our case - no news is good news.

For those concerned this is taking too long, might be worth checking the timeline and events of the Modric to Real Madrid saga. All thought fee etc was agreed including player, Who wants to go. Real say they won't go higher with their bid, Levy trying to get more money for his club. Guilleme Balague on Sky said earlier this goes on all the time, and will eventually get sorted - again he said its called negotiation.

Even the biggest of spenders negotiate hard and draw lines in the sand. This isn't unusual when pursuing top end of the market players. The RVP deal didn't happen in a week either did it?? That was ongoing for a month at least. What will be, will be.

as the selling club it is in your interest to command the biggest fee possible so all these "leaks" from italy suggest bologna are making one final attempt to get other clubs interested and offer better terms than saints. if nothing forthcoming they will no doubt take up our offer.

it will be a waiting game albeit not up until end of the window. be resolved either way by tomorrow imo.

Can't believe how many people here seem blind to the fact that dozens of transfers every window drag on and on before dying or being completed.

Look how long it took Utd to get RVP, Barca to get Cesc, Real to get Ronaldo. Ok they are slightly different types of deals,

but still, look at Sunderland trying to get Fletcher, WHU & Jarvis, The whole D. Ba saga, Adebayor to Spurs, the list is HUGE. In comparison, this deal is barely worth noting as a saga at this stage.

Yes and no- we must have a deadline in our head as we need to find other players if this doesn't go through -and the bigger the signing, the more complicated the process. Same is true for Bologna as they need to sign replacements for Ramirez.

If anything, they're in a tighter bind time-wise. If it falls through, they're stuck with a wantaway player whereas, in theory, we still have the entire market to choose from.

It's a done deal.

A shock, how did he do that moment will happen as a TSW insider will take a pic of Ramirez as he is bundled into SMS at 15:30 on Thursday afternoon for the photo shoot prior to the official announcement.

The Fee was always agreed (as in what would be the maximum we would pay) and so in order to get their hands on more of the cash Bologna played the But we have to pay Penarol card you pay more. To which The Don taught Bolgna the value of the Horses Head and how to make Penarol (and the agent) they could not refuse an offer.

In other news, there is a major scare in the South of England with shock run on stocks of Diazepam in the region. Due to supply chain issues, the price had increased so dramatically that the Health Service was forced to turn to an overseas supplier for an emergency shipment of supplies. It is not believed that there is any truth in the rumours that a Mr A Nixon is a business partner with a Mr N Cortese in a Pharmaceutical supply company.

And finally, Lionel Messi was seen boarding a Gulfstream Private Jet this evening at Barcelona Airport. Hs comment to waiting Journalists was something along the lines that he felt his place was in jeopardy due to the new contract being offered to Tello and he had been in discussions with a cub who were building for the future and who would guarantee him first team football.

That's why I think we might be in the period of silence practiced by high-level negotiators - "the first guy that talks, loses."

And I can't help but wonder if we're seriously thinking about Phillips AND Ramirez, so our fall-back option might already be in play.

Is anyone else concerned that Matt Phillips will read this thread and decide not to sign for us!? as he is clearly not as popular as Ramirez and his thread has died on its arse whilst all this has been going on, wouldn't be surprised if his agent will have advised him to look elsewhere now :(

Can't help thinking all this just points to a waste of time. Ince and Phillips would be a good compromise and a lot less expensive.

£12m aint much in football...... If hes any good other clubs in England, Russia or France will pay £12m without a blink

There are no other clubs in at the moment and if they come in they have 4 deals to negotiate and settle in 10 days as the clock ticks on our offer looks better and better in fact if I was Cortese I would reduce it by 250k a day to get more focus!

I'd love to see Ince, Dave - can you imagine him and Clyne down the right?

But Holloway would go into total meltdown at the merest suggestion that we were after both. I think he'd rather cut off his own nuts.

If he signs he will have to be a top performer immediately, he may be like Poyet and fit in, on the other hand! I would still prefer Phillips and Ince plus a couple more.

Ince and Phillips are promising but Ramirez clearly more accomplished. Don't get me wrong I wold be happy with Ince and Phillips but Ramirez would be the best signing in my lifetime.

Money talks with Owen Oyston and it really doesn't matter what anybody else thinks. If the price was right he'd drive them down here himself.

Something is going on. There is just something fishy about the whole deal.

reluctantnicko: @Jayrodfan2 @ConnorArmstrong Do u think u r going to walk away a potential 12m deal for a player and let a bit of drama put u off?

reluctantnicko: @ConnorArmstrong @Jayrodfan2 U don't go in this high and hard and walk away. Posture City.

reluctantnicko: @adkinsisourking @ConnorArmstrong @Jayrodfan2 U don't go from the high level of confidence u had yesterday to this brink of despair stuff.

reluctantnicko: @adkinsisourking @ConnorArmstrong @Jayrodfan2 Just the chat from Italy. No distress flares back in Blighty.

--------------------------------------

peterwhite_1: @ConnorArmstrong Nothing on Ramirez as yet, could be keeping it quiet because of what has happened with Buttner #saintsfc

Ramirez probably has the higher "upside" but Ince and Phillips probably have a safer "downside."

I'd lean toward Ince and Phillips but it needs to be a quick switch in focus and a "no farting about" negotiation because "time's-a-passing" for both Blackpool and us.

If I were a betting man, with the Liverpool and Spurs shadow in the wings after two weekend losses, I'd stick my money on us getting just Phillips.
