I can see exactly where mullett is coming from some folk on here have two separate views on this topic . One minute extatic and the next uber negative because the deal has not.been completed yet . If he does sign it will not belong before some on here slate him what a waste of money . Some of you need to take a chill pill . There Are far more important things to worry about . My girl friends dad died yesterday of a very rare and aggressive cancer . He went into hospital 5 weeks ago as a very fit person. This bickering amongst each other for something g out of our control is really sad . Put life into perspective guys .

It seems to me that people are getting overly aggressive with those who question our potential transfer policy/strategy and get overly angry at those people (like me) who make those queries. There is nothing wrong with doing that, and on the whole it is done without aggression, name calling and what-not. I agree, it is not the be-all and end-all, and I think we'd all do better to care less about football than we do. However this does beg the question as to why people get so frustrated at what is surely a relevant question/speculation to be raised.

Sorry for your loss.

I wouldn't close it yet,Nixon is still saying its on........

His source seems to be someone in SFC as he keeps on saying that we believe we have got him.

Ramirez won't be joining Saints. Let's stop all this bed wetting and move on

What are you on about? We've been told Bolognia need the money and Cortese is not being held to ransom and doing a deal that will suit us. We have a great track with closing deals out. Just ask Buttner, Fontaine, Gorkss, ward and co.

Pretty high success % then, although these are just the ones that made the media. Same at most clubs; lots of enquiries, rebuffs and non completions happen all the time. Hardly unique to Saints and Cortese.

Yea, I guess it's reasonable to ignore the near entire squad we've built over the last 3 years.

Nixon is positive on it. Reckons that this will not drag on, the fact that Bologna came over here to close the deal is a 'massive step' and suggests that Southampton are still confident of the deal

We wait and see

My head hurts. I'm still unsure who I should be booing here

why are people still clinging onto tweets from a mirror journalist who dodges questions when asked?

Numerous sources in Italy have said this, `deal is off, which it most probably is, let's more on and focus on getting a CB and Phillips

So journalist in England = wrong, journalists in Italy = right

On what is that based? What makes one more reliable to you than the other?

Here is a novel idea. As you seem so sure that the deal will never happen, why not let those that want to keep following it do so and leave this thread alone.

Numerous sources in Italy basically said "done deal" last week and that obviously wasn't the case so maybe there are still some twists yet? Not sure what your problem is?

read the information. The nixon guy just keeps saying "you are confident" whereas the quotes from Italy talk with knowledge

Just got back from work, and am mightily confused. We seem to have Italian tweeters saying its all off, yet others quoting Nixon saying its all on.

Have we any reports from RELIABLE sources that given an indication one way or other what is going on? Or is all this threads banter just unsubstantiated 'testicles' as someone put it, and really noone has any idea?

Does anyone really have any idea what is actually going on?

Well, that's clear then. I'm off to get a beer.

As I have just said to Nixon, maybe we are trying to make Bologna feel that the deal is off due to the price to try and force them to lower their demands? If they don't (which looks like it), then maybe we'll give in and say "ok, we'll pay full price".

Would be a very dodgy time to start doing this but Nixon says that the club are extremely confident that we'll get the deal done. Because we have managed to get the Bologna chairman over here, he says its a massive step and I'm sure we arent gonna let the deal pass us by now?
