Fans of Bologna can smile jumps transfer Ramirez to Southampton. Despite an offer of 15 million euros, the red and blue do not accept the terms of payment of English: is breaking. The midfielder for now does not move.

Surprise: The Bologna breaks with Southampton and is held Gaston Ramirez. The midfielder was on the brink of English society, then the reverse of red and blue. What went wrong? The President Albano Guaraldi and the Director General Roberto Zanzi not accept payment imposed by the Premier League club.

The offer of the Saints lived up to expectations: 15 million for 70% of the player's card in hand to staff of Ramirez. The red and white but they are not going to pay everything at once.

The Bologna does not think so - he writes the 'Gazzetta dello Sport' - and laid down the law: yes purchase in installments, but the bill must be settled within one year. In addition, the first installment must be rather 'substantial'. At that point the Southampton surrendered.

And now? To the delight of fans Bologna negotiation seems to be skipped completely. Ramirez will not be happy, convinced as the British proposal for a respectable engagement and eager to fly in the UK. The parties are still very close. And the transfer market you never know.

Not over by any means. Just Italian media fun and games...

@HusseinMarhoon: @ConnorArmstrong let's wait and see, these reports change every two hours. The printed version of Gazzetta dello Sport says they're close

Wouldn't the online story be more up to date though than the printed version

Seems we said no to the large upfront fee. Shame but I trust NC and if it isnt right for the club, IMO I thought it would be, then dont risk it.

If this turns out to be true, at least we're not spending money that we don't have. Sounds like we wanted a structured deal as we couldn't pay all up top, which is fair enough for a club like us - probably the only way we can actually sign a player as good as him.

Bolonga have apparently moved the goal posts slightly though, in terms of the initial payment they want up front - which is something we're not willing to do at the moment. This has all stemmed from Gaston blabbing, and Bolonga have used this to their advantage. And a big advantage too.

Saints and transfers - they couldn't organise a p!$$ up in a brewery. Why can't we just get some transfers done and dusted without having a drawn out saga that gets everyone frustrated?

That's not the case though is it? We've signed plenty of good players, a deal like this for a club like us was always a huge effort.

Strange that it would come down to payments, isn't? Well, on the bright side we avoid the gamble it would be to splash out on one player that would probably become the clubs biggest earner. Hopefully we can sign a centre back and a pacey winger until Wigan.

Corriere dello sport have reported that Manolo Gabbiadini, aged 21 forward, ex of atalanta but now juve is training with BOLOGNA for the first time today as soon as a few technical details are resolved.

My take on it: if you are selling your 21 year old uruguyan star attacking player then it makes sense to bring in another young attacker- especially if he is a young Italian talent at the same time....that's good for appeasing fans and balancing the squad....it makes Ramirez departure more likely - though not necessarily to Saints ( though im hoping!)...im scanning all Italian news sites and media all day so fingers crossed....

Well, was too good to be true. Blackpool are refusing to negotiate with Saints, so we're back at step 1.

I wonder whether this was to placate the fans that we were looking at decent targets, with the knowledge that it would never be agreed, hence why we were so prepared to smash our wage structure as it was never going to happen. Perhaps similar with the Buttner deal.

Just under 2 weeks left for a RW, 2 x CB's and a LB.

Do you really think that? We tried this because we thought we want to sign him, it wasn't to do with appeasing fans what so ever.

And now, stage left, enter any of the Top Four.....

..... to conclude negotiations

Cortese may have Principals, but, unfortunately, Football has very few

Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz. Just like Gary Hooper etc. Blah blah. Why on earth would the club waste time on trying to 'placate' the fans.

I thought Cortese didn't care about the fans?

We haven't signed anyone for about a month. NA promised 2 signings before the Man City game - still waiting. As we have said all along since Martin joined CP on loan we need 1 / 2 Cbs - still waiting. Wish I'd never heard of Ramirez ..................... Saints always get your hopes up and then let you down.

Another case of Cortese wanting it both ways it seems. When we didn't want to sell Chamberlain they had to meet our terms, now the boot is on the other foot it seems like he might be prepared to lose the deal because he's not prepared to meet theirs. If this deal doesn't happen only one person is to blame.
