mulletsaint Posted 20 August, 2012 Posted 20 August, 2012 http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/southampton-transfer-news-gaston-ramirez-1271082 Nothing new really. Don't you love these scoops? Nothing to see here, move along.
silversaint Posted 20 August, 2012 Posted 20 August, 2012 Any clue as to whether Spurs are genuine contenders for his signature?
MOSaint Posted 20 August, 2012 Posted 20 August, 2012 Everton were also rumoured to be coming in last minute for Rodriguez.
MOSaint Posted 20 August, 2012 Posted 20 August, 2012 Any clue as to whether Spurs are genuine contenders for his signature? Agent claimed a while back that Spurs wouldn't pay the wages he wanted.
LeBenali Posted 20 August, 2012 Posted 20 August, 2012 I wonder if any potential Spurs deal would rely on Modric moving to Madrid? As there doesn't appear to be much movement in that deal at the moment, I hope we're not waiting around for a few days just to be told that they are/aren't interested in Ramirez...
Thedelldays Posted 20 August, 2012 Posted 20 August, 2012 I haven't actually said anything unreasonable here! All I did was ask a very reasonable question and considered it odd that someone was travelling all the way to South America for something that could easily be done remotely. it may be odd to you....when you have nothing to do with the profession of football agenting and have no idea of the travelling habits of said person
hypochondriac Posted 20 August, 2012 Posted 20 August, 2012 it may be odd to you....when you have nothing to do with the profession of football agenting and have no idea of the travelling habits of said person Far enough is that normal practice in football then? Anyone know?
Saint-Armstrong Posted 20 August, 2012 Posted 20 August, 2012 Has he not already rejected contract offers from Spurs....?
MOSaint Posted 20 August, 2012 Posted 20 August, 2012 Has he not already rejected contract offers from Spurs....? Yeah, his agent said they wouldn't pay him enough.
Thedelldays Posted 20 August, 2012 Posted 20 August, 2012 Far enough is that normal practice in football then? Anyone know? Did ŷou read Jeff Le taxis post?
Saint Garrett Posted 20 August, 2012 Posted 20 August, 2012 Was the original problem wages? So surely they were his first choice?
Raging Bull Posted 20 August, 2012 Posted 20 August, 2012 Does our latino god have a twitter account? Yes
Turkish Posted 20 August, 2012 Posted 20 August, 2012 Has he not already rejected contract offers from Spurs....? Yes. http://www.goal.com/en-gb/news/2896/premier-league/2012/08/14/3305581/bologna-star-gaston-ramirez-rejects-tottenham?source=breakingnews
Thedelldays Posted 20 August, 2012 Posted 20 August, 2012 I predict a lot of frustration on this thread, throw in some tantrums and name calling too
Monk Posted 20 August, 2012 Posted 20 August, 2012 If he has twitter, then why is no one bombarding him? Jeez, get involved google translate and your half way there!
hypochondriac Posted 20 August, 2012 Posted 20 August, 2012 Did ŷou read Jeff Le taxis post? Just read it. Had missed it previously. Still doesn't say if it's normal practice in these negotiations. As I said though, fair play if the info is legit.
supergoose Posted 20 August, 2012 Posted 20 August, 2012 I'm certainly not taking anything for granted with this one.
Saint Garrett Posted 20 August, 2012 Posted 20 August, 2012 I'm certainly not taking anything for granted with this one. You sure? Having already changed your avatar?!
John Boy Saint Posted 20 August, 2012 Posted 20 August, 2012 What will be interesting is if the prevarication continues and Bologna and the Agent keep whoring Ramirez around in the background, at what point will Cortese push his chair away from the negotiating table?
SaintsAhoy Posted 20 August, 2012 Posted 20 August, 2012 I predict a lot of frustration on this thread, throw in some tantrums and name calling too Bugger off four-eyes!
Colinjb Posted 20 August, 2012 Posted 20 August, 2012 Let's not count our chickens with this. Or geese as the case may be. (Please change your avatar back.....)
Monk Posted 20 August, 2012 Posted 20 August, 2012 This is up there with Skacel, Reid and Idiakez. And for those squinnying with ye old link, chill out.
St Chalet Posted 20 August, 2012 Posted 20 August, 2012 Cheers Monk, we have a whole part of the forum for this type of thing next time.
Tokyo-Saint Posted 20 August, 2012 Posted 20 August, 2012 Cheers Monk, we have a whole part of the forum for this type of thing next time. Please stop sending idiots to the muppet show, we are trying to have some serious conversations over there!
Red and White Russ Posted 20 August, 2012 Posted 20 August, 2012 I think i've just seen Ramirez's yacht in Ocean Village. Done deal I think. (or am I just reminiscing over old threads)
Dig Dig Posted 20 August, 2012 Posted 20 August, 2012 On FIFA, I simply bid a couple of million over the recommended asking price. A couple of days later I get an email from the players club either accepting or rejecting the deal. If they ask for more money, I simply give it to them if I have it. A couple of days later I get another email saying I can offer the player a contract. I offer the player the chairmans suggestion and and a 10% bonus. 2 days later, player accepts deals and is immediately available for selection, even if signed on a match day. It's so ****ing easy, I don't know why NC makes himself look so amateur. FFS.
Saint_lambden Posted 20 August, 2012 Posted 20 August, 2012 AVB said last week that Spurs weren't in for Ramirez anymore I think.
MOSaint Posted 20 August, 2012 Posted 20 August, 2012 AVB said last week that Spurs weren't in for Ramirez anymore I think. http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/2012/aug/17/andre-villas-boas-luka-modric-spurs?newsfeed=true "M'Vila is an interesting player but I don't think he will join Tottenham. The player is a player of defensive characteristics. On the possible replacements for Luka, we are looking for a more creative player. I can't lie to you. We had initial interest in the player but we have moved on from that one and are now looking for a more creative player because we think that we have certain players already that offer us those defensive characteristics. With Ramírez, he is in a more advanced role and we are covered in that position."
Saint Charlie Posted 20 August, 2012 Posted 20 August, 2012 Nixon says Spurs wouldnt outbid us on fee or wages. He says Saints expect Ramirez to sign. Tomorrow will be crucial as long as talks take place...there is a big corruption trial that the Bologna Owner is at tomorrow.

Raging Bull Posted 20 August, 2012 Posted 20 August, 2012 So basically we won't know tonight then. I'm going to bed.
Saint Garrett Posted 20 August, 2012 Posted 20 August, 2012 Why is this thread reducing in no of posts?! Odd
Jimmy_D Posted 20 August, 2012 Posted 20 August, 2012 Why is this thread reducing in no of posts?! Odd That was me sorting out Monk's little, uh, joke. (He posted a fake link claiming it was a done deal, in case you were wondering.)
S-Clarke Posted 20 August, 2012 Posted 20 August, 2012 Bolonga are basically trying to mess us about, simple as that. If we have the patience to hold out who knows. They've changed the goal posts, when everything was pretty much agreed before he blabbed. There is still nothing decided from what I've been told. They're now trying to create an auction as they aren't getting what they want out of us. It may be that they realise this is thee best they'll get and finish it up there and then, but this will drag now IMO. I thought it would be decided tonight..!
Saint J 77 Posted 20 August, 2012 Posted 20 August, 2012 So basically we won't know tonight then. I'm going to bed. I'm not in the know but I'll take a guess, we probably still won't know about any of our potential transfers come Saturday either.
SaintBobby Posted 20 August, 2012 Posted 20 August, 2012 All things being equal, the longer this thread goes on, the bleaker it looks basically, right?
Saint Charlie Posted 20 August, 2012 Posted 20 August, 2012 The General Manager is attending. President is staying in England. Cool, where did you see that?

BlakeySFC Posted 20 August, 2012 Posted 20 August, 2012 Doesn't sound too promising... Just re-iterating what we already know. Think Ramirez has burnt his bridges at Bologna so he'll be going someone, I'm just hoping and praying that it'll be us
Nigel=God-Poyet=Sod Posted 20 August, 2012 Posted 20 August, 2012 Cool, where did you see that? Tweet from the local Bologna journo. He said that the president would remain in England and could continue talks.
SaintBobby Posted 20 August, 2012 Posted 20 August, 2012 In my gut, I don't think this one is happening. We can't quite close the deal (understandably so) and both Bologna and Ramirez know they have very attractive options elsewhere. It's not like Saints are their one shot call in the Last Chance Saloon. Not attaching any blame here, btw. And also so hope I'm wrong.
Colinjb Posted 20 August, 2012 Posted 20 August, 2012 (edited) Yeah it is ridiculous to suggest someone is flying all the way over there. That would be pointless. It isn't hard to imagine that the agent could have an extremely good relationship with the people at Penarol. The sums of money that can be made as an agent would make it a bad idea to risk burning bridges, that and as it's a 'people' business a courtesy trip to Penarol would be a very good idea at this time, particularly if you are facilitating a deal that will give them 3 million pounds and line your pockets to the tune of many many thousands of pounds.
