I get the impression you really believe the world is that simple. No wonder people end up whining so much and blaming x y and z when they think it's that easy. It'd all work so much more smoothly with someone like you at the helm.

Cortese received an offer from Arsenal for Chamberlain and threw it straight into the bi until he got what he wanted. Clearly he believes it is that simple. I know you like to pretend you are on a different intelectual level to others on here but you really aren't.

I hope this gets sorted soon, just beginning to get a little nervous that other deals that we need to complete may be impacted by this saga over-running the expected time scale. Hopefully we will still be able to wrap up Phillips as well, replacement for Buttner (looks like we were being strung along there once he knew Manure were sniffing), a CB and maybe even another keeper (an experienced one). Still 10 days to go, I know but it seems that a lot of work is still required, Nicola is going to be a busy Don.

What time is it over in South America then?

Could this be why the meeting is 'taking place' late tonight to get Penarol to agree?

6 hrs behind i believe.......as i just got back from a holiday in Mexico...so its around 3 in the afternoon in S America

On the basis of that garbelled translation, we just need to get Penarol's agreement, then it's done.

So how big a deal is that? This shared ownership thing is so alien to us in the UK.

Give it a rest. Earlier your 'source' was someone loitering at a hotel, now you've got an agent's flight details?

@SimonPeach Ok, perfect. See you tomorrow (in fact, also without GM, Bologna's chairman Guaraldi can hold talks, but we'll see)

Has he not heard of a fax machine then? Instead he is flying to Uruguay to get a signature... great.

Yeah it is ridiculous to suggest someone is flying all the way over there. That would be pointless.

Strangely I believe a journalist attached to the selling club more than someone here. He hasn't signed......yet.

As someone said earlier, maybe that is why the meeting is being held at this time of night? Due to time difference, someone from Penarol (chairman, secretary etc) will be available back in Uruguay to sign any documentation that could be faxed / emailed over?

Would make sense, have them on conference call/video during the discussions. Must have been painful the translating of everything between English, Spanish and Italian.

Well Cortese knows two of them so they may be alright...

Other than time travellers going back to the 90's, the FA & Harry Redknapp, do people still use fax machines these days?
