"The deal to bring Ramírez to St Mary's was quickly agreed and processed over ten days ago with a work permit appeal being successfully granted last Friday.

Only the finer details of the transfer prevented his signing from being completed and, with those matters now taken care of, Ramírez has signed a four-year contract at St Mary's with Saints paying an undisclosed fee to Serie A side Bologna."

Never been this excited about a signing before, he'll really be a catalyst to making the new formation work

Any chance someone can truncate the video of MOTD3 down to just lawro saying he wouldn't come. Would be useful for explaining to people what a clueless, useless fat w@nker he is.

Ah good, Sky are back on the Fulham - Liverpool transfers, and Man City.

been so poor today...a prem club has broken their transfer record and signed one of the most wanted young players in europe.....not a peep other than a 1 liner

Dan Kerins ‏@dankerins

For the fifth consecutive deadline day, #saintsfc announce no signings while I do the live blog, leaving @gordonsimpson to take the glory

Simpson in! Kerins out!!

First off, let the gloating begin for Happy Clappers United! As discussed, everyone who voted yes now "owns" 1.42 no voters.

It's so irritating. We've just made one of the most amazing transfers in years. A promoted club signing one of the most sought after players in world football.

But they're more interested in talking about Richard Wright joining Man City, weird... never mind, we know what we have here - a huge statement, a huge signing and someone that will create a domino effect on this club and city. Sit back and enjoy it.

They can close the window now as far as I'm concerned, excellent stuff.

(although I wonder if NA can do another deal as he hinted to Tony Husband)
