Rioplatense is definitely distinct from more common dialects of Spanish and might be picked up as a bit of a lisp. Yep, as I've posted about earlier in this thread, Rioplatense is distinct from Spanish spoken in the rest of South America and Spain. Mainly in pronunciation (a shhh sound for the letter Y and the double L) and grammar (vos instead of tu, ustedes used instead of vosotros, and slightly different verb conjugations to go with that). But there is no lisping. Unless you think shhhhhhh-ing sounds lispy. Which it doesn't. With Liverpools offer they'd be getting a loan fee, with the rest being paid in a year. They don't want that, which is the trouble we've had. Reports now suggest we're paying them 12m up front straight away, that's what they want. They will not loan him for a smaller fee. It's a non-story really, hence why it's only on that one random website.
