SimonPeach: I understand Gastón Ramírez's move to #SaintsFC is still on course. He could be one of three new faces at St Mary's before the week's out.

That doesn't sound amazingly positive? :s on course? Shouldn't the course be winding up??

Hearing rumours that Ramirez got off the private jet at Southampton Airport, took one look at the weather and decided to just stay on the plane and head back to Italy.

Wouldn't blame him. I got caught out in a massive hail/rain storm earlier. In Fawley. At the end of August. Ridiculous!

Adkins said recently in an interview that he is happy with Fox and Shaw at left back. Plus if needed Clyne can play left back (as he did for Palace on occasion) and Richardson at right back.

He can say that...we did almost buy Buttner so not beyond the realms of possibility...

Absolutely ideal would be Ramirez, Yoshida and then a left back who can also play CB.

Patience now rossoblu

The midfielder Michele Pazienza is practically a player of Bologna. Lacks only the signature but the former Juventus is now considered rossoblu. Patience arrive outright.

Our Ramirez deal is getting closer!

Article just been posted on Gazzetta Dello Sport

And 'now one step away from buying Patience and Juve midfield remain hot tracks Tissone and Matuzalem, for the attack remains in pole position followed by Lazio Floccari clivense Moscardelli and the defense always thinks all'interista Juan Jesus. In all this we must not forget that Saturday comes the Milan and Pioli is always free Natali and Perez, the only disqualified after the first round of Serie A. And returning from a round of stop Morleo has low back pain.

Surely we should be going all out to sign Tissone.

Just 2 or 3 days ago we were linked with Ajax left back, Boilesen, which would mean we're likely still making enquiries for a left back. Reports from last night's match at Stevenage suggest Shaw isn't ready for first team football yet, which to be fair it would be a massive risk to rely on a recently turned 17 year old to step into the Premier League right now.

Do we really need to spend all this money on ramerez ,hardly proven or out of nappies is he really going to make any difference to our results we have got to stop conceding goals. we need kasper schmike from leicster and cb,s

Christ we have some proper miserable people on this forum. How can you not be excited about signing someone as good as Ramirez. Yes we're short at the back but it sounds like we'll have 2 defenders in by the window anyway. Stop moaning and embrace the fact that we're able to attract players of Ramirez's ability.

Just heard on TalkSport from they're South American man that Bolonga dont want to pay the 30% (which we knew) and that we have also made a bid for a different Uruguay winger but the bid was rejected. Didn't catch the name.

Sorry if this has been posted already. No time to look

A real motley crew. You might make it onto a list with this statistical malarkey too.

Surely we pay the 30%?

From what I can take out of it, Bologna have to pay it out of the fee we give them, as with any normal sell on fee. May be wrong though.

They seem right arses to deal with, but anyway with them signing players it's done bar the announcement as far as I'm concerned.

If we had been negotiating in mid June then a. We would have more chance to sort out any problems. b. Identify and get in a good alternative if it fell though.

This is the problem with leaving important signings so late in the transfer window.

I hope this goes through but i am not confident.

If it fails to go through i hope it does not cost us our place in the leadgue at the end of the season.

If we had been negotiating in mid June

How do you know we wern't?

The signing of Jay Rodriguez back in mid June shows that despite the negativity that can sometimes be evident here, we have been working to strengthen the squad all summer. The Mayuka signing came out of the blue, there would have been a lot of ground work there but due to the descretion of all parties involved we didn't have a clue until it was almost concluded.

Speculation about perceived lack of activity is about as prudent as fretting over the activity of Italian journalists on twitter.
