Surely if we can get a work permit for a guy from Zambia then getting one for a European wonderkid won't be an issue..

Just the beginning of mindless trash talk tweets that doom us until he is on the OS as an official signing..

Time to chill out guys..

Mousse81: @gregvul Talks Penarol-agent-Southampton. For two days.

I thought, as he said, it was to do with the % to Panarol?

The player has to have a medical, agree a work permit and visa. Bank Holiday in the UK yesterday. Saints won't announce it until they have assurances on that side of things.

He seems to woffle a load of rubbish.

gregvul: @Mousse81 very complicated deal it seems. I think tomorrow night it will be official

Mousse81: @gregvul So much parts involved....but I still think tomorrow on Thursday official

I can see your view now S-Clarke. This Mousse guy seems a bit of a bull****ter to me. Stirs things up for attention?

Seems to be the case. As I said, all the talk about the deal being off...on...off...on has always originated from his tweets. I imagine we've kept constant dialog with Bologna in a much calmer manner that he ever suggested.

There will always be hitches in a big deal like this for a club like ours. It would be naive to think it would be a straight forward transfer.

The problem with the medium of twitter is that you have someone who can air all the linen and fabricate it to put their club in the better position. That's how I see it anyway.

I work for SSN.

Firstly, I think you are on a wind-up. I could say I am an agent and I've done it and you would be none the wiser.

Secondly, assuming for one moment that you are not, unless you are the sports news editor or the channel CEO I find it highly unlikely that you would be privvy to such information anyway.

Theres not really anyway for me to determine one way or the other, so lets just leave it that I dont really believe you.

EDIT: Oh, if you do, how do you defend/justify reporting such sh*t-stirring reactionary drivel ?

To be fair, the **** stirring on this site is mainly down to you, I couldn't care less if a sad individual like you believes I work at SSN, as I know there are various posters on here that know I do.

As I said, I know for a fact that you have mentioned it in the past. As always alpine thinks he knows best and fails badly.

D'Ippolito: "Problems for the sale of Ramirez of Bologna Alfaro"

A lalaziosiamonoi.it, Vincenzo D'Ippolito speaks of problems for Ramirez to Southampton and consequently the Bologna could no longer afford Floccari if the money did not arrive from England. Hence the interest in Emiliano Alfaro, Uruguayan striker for Lazio: "There is a recent interest of Bologna, in the case fails to materialize transfer Floccari. As far as I know, there were problems for the release of Ramirez"

"Still problems for the transfer of Ramirez"

"The negotiation between Gaston Ramirez and Southampton seems to have assumed the characteristics of a soap opera, before the player had announced an agreement with the English club, but arrived on time the blunt denial of Bologna, now that instead the two teams seemed to have reached the 'agreement is replaced by a new problem. As reported by La Gazzetta dello Sport, the Peñarol which holds 30% of the card the player has not yet accepted the proposal of Southampton, again blocking the transfer of the player, tried for a long time"

This is all becoming rather dull. I would have expected that Saints had done their homework on who owns what with regard to Ramirez before they embarked on this soap opera. The trouble is that it is all Latinos involved in this process.....Italians, Swiss Italians, and Spaniards (Uruguayans). All emotion, double dealing and brinkmanship. Personally, I couldn't care less if he signs or not, as there is no guarantee he is actually any good. A lot of money for a 21 year old, and ask yourself why have no other top clubs gone in for him if he's that good?

Maybe because nobody else can be arsed to deal with the ball ache involved. We've all seen what a tangled mess it is after all

FWIW, my take on this is that Saints are making an effort to acquire a 'Big' signing. Cortese and his team have not had to deal on this level before and need to get used to it if they really want to make their dreams come to fruition (ie, really mean to push for Champions League - no, I'm not dreaming, just remembering what was claimed). It is a tough one as when you need to deal with many of these South American 'Superstars', more and more are having companies own at least part of their contract permanantly. This is new to Cortese. Also, I can see why he chose Italy to do Business with, as Cortese is probably more comfortable dealing in that culture and is very aware of the issues that arise and hopefully how to deal with them. The question he must ask is when is it too much hasstle and when does it become too much money?

IF Ramirez comes, it will be an important purchase and not only for 'on the field' matters. If he turns out to be great, then fantastic, if not, then not a complete waste of time.

While he's not been in charge of a club before, wasn't Cortese's background in football finance?

Ok, fair enough. Hypo says you've mentioned it in the past unconnected to my comment, so I'll accept that.

Still doesnt mean you can definitively say no-one in the sports news editorial team isnt on a cut. But it was a rhetorical question, so yes, the rumour-mongering is more likely just down to lazy p*ss-poor sensationalist journalism synonimous with Murdoch organisations.
