I'm looking at this " 75% thing " every time. Surely it has to be taken in context. Not every country plays a lot of games every year.....but 75% might mean, maybe only 2 games.

 

We understand the principle is that players with " lesser talent " don't come into the game in the place of home players, but it doesn't work well. top Swedish clubs sign dozens of foreign talents every season , often African players but never seem to encounter this problem...

 

The '75% thing' is a UK Border Agency rule. I don't believe it's enforced in any other countries?

Pretty sure that only comes into effect if you are a so called big club.

From the FA guidelines;

 

1. A player must have played for his country in at least 75% of its competitive “A” team matches he was available for selection, during the 2 years preceding the date of the application;

 

I'd assume that if a player was selected for an international youth squad, then he wouldn't be considered available for selection for the 'A' squad?

I also said Buttner, Jemal, Fontaine and Elliott Ward were signing and for that I blame Cortese - especially Fontaine, the guy had a broken leg so of course we should have signed him FFS. He would have been better on one leg than Fonte on two.

That was my initial thought however it was reported that we had sent some medical staff out there to conduct it as it would save time.

Reports yesterday suggest we sent medical staff to Rome yesterday in order to get the medical out the way. If true, it will have already been done.

im not a mod so apologise for seeming like telling people what to do etc but this is the Gaston Ramirez thread. If i want to ignore people on the "lack of transfer activity thread" i can do but i cannot ignore what is meant for another thread on this thread when i am simply trying to find out whats going on with this transfer. Its easy for threads to get sidetracked and people often have to respond when slagged off but there are threads relevant for the above discussions and its f***ing boring reading about it when you dont want to.
