dubai_phil Posted 27 August, 2012 Share Posted 27 August, 2012 Can't see that...we don't need 3 defenders! Yoshida is dead anyway according to NA. Wouldn't be surprised to see Biyik turn up, a very very highly rated CB - who is right footed, strong and pacey. And is available for a very fair fee. If we don't get him, I guarantee a big club will snap him up and he'll end up turning into one of the best CB's in europe. From what I've heard about him and who I've spoken to about him, I think we'd have a signing there to rival Ramirez. BackPage. @BackPage 10,000 retweets and we will tweet the most breaking news ever. You are confusing £ with Euros in some cases (not all). So its quite a bit less than £37m, perhaps £30m is more like it. Not all cash up front (though perhaps more than originally budgeted for) and most, though not all, with potential to increase in value.

raynesparksaint Posted 27 August, 2012 Share Posted 27 August, 2012 The latest Gazella report stated that he's played in 75% of Uruguay's games in the last 12 months, which is inc. the Olympic games. I'm not sure the Olympic Games matches count towards the percentage (he played in all 3). Perhaps as it is classified as an under-23 tournament, therefore unofficial?
VectisSaint Posted 27 August, 2012 Share Posted 27 August, 2012 Isnt the requirement two years? Yes it is 75% in last 2 years, of internationals that he has been available for. Olympics are not full internationals by the way (they are U23 matches) and so would not count, but would probably be taken into consideration if there was a borderline case. I really don't think a work permit is something to worry about, and I'm convinced that this would have been considered already. There is no way in the world that NC would be so naive as to pay this sort of money and then think, oh feck I forgot about a work permit.
SB Posted 27 August, 2012 Share Posted 27 August, 2012 We've agreed an improved deal with Bologna which they are now happy with. They now get more money up front which is what they required, which has allowed them to today agree a fee with a Lazio striker. Gaston has been in Rome sorting out his visa application, and having a medical as we apparently sent our medical team to meet him there to speed the process along. The minor detail left to sort is the % Panarol get from it. They're not quite happy at the moment, but it seems to just be a minor issue. I'd say the signing is probably as imminent as it's ever been. We've agreed an improved deal with Bologna which they are now happy with. CanadaSaint Posted 27 August, 2012 Share Posted 27 August, 2012 Are most people still convinced that we're going for Ramirez AND Phillips? Smirking_Saint Posted 27 August, 2012 Share Posted 27 August, 2012 There is another clause BTW tgat states even if the player does not play in 75% of his int countries games he can be granted one because he would improve the PL or something like that. This of course is aslong as he has not qualified for an EU passport which obv I have no idea if he has or has not, however spunking 20 mil on a young player tgats never going to ever play for you seems to only happen on Football Manager.
