St Chalet Posted 27 August, 2012 Posted 27 August, 2012 I have moved a load of off-topic garbage to here http://www.saintsweb.co.uk/showthread.php?39721-The-Ramirez-Off-Topic-Thread Please stick to Ramirez on this thread.
Dibden Purlieu Saint Posted 27 August, 2012 Posted 27 August, 2012 Schneiderlin covered more ground on Saturday than any player in the Premier League. Check the opta stats. He does tackle, he nicks and intercepts the ball from his opponents and doesn't go to ground unless he really has to (which he is capable of doing if necessary) Morgan, like a lot of our players on Saturday, really didn't have a particularly poor game as an individual, they just got f*cked over by a ridiculous attempt at a 4-3-3 which managed to get the least out of literally every one of our players. I think the thought of going to 4-3-3 this season was good, but I really don't think it suits us, andd we do need to play to our strengths. I assume with the signing of Ramirez though we are planning to continue experimenting.
S-Clarke Posted 27 August, 2012 Posted 27 August, 2012 So if it has been completed, when is it going to be announced?! I want this palava over. When he's signed, passed a medical and been granted a work permit I'd guess. No point jumping the gun, still hurdles to jump over.

I respect your opinion and your stats but I do not think he played well in either of the first two games. The position and the role he is asked to play left me thinking he has to do a lot better...as do some other players.. Yes he has the talent..but I expect a lot better from him in his particular role....not just some stats saying he has run all around the pitch ....As some say he may play better when Cork returns to partner him OR whe Davis settles in... But I personally want and expect better from Morgan....Hope that happens in the next 3/4 games.. Just my opinion;)

JustMike Posted 27 August, 2012 Posted 27 August, 2012 http://www.gianlucadimarzio.com/calciomercato/ramirez-southampton-le-ultimissime/ love this bit from the translation...."600 people dancing"
S-Clarke Posted 27 August, 2012 Posted 27 August, 2012 There are about 600 thousand people dancing, the Penarol not want to give up the money what a party!
itchen_dan Posted 27 August, 2012 Posted 27 August, 2012 I dont get head nor tail of that article! Anyone care to explain it?
S-Clarke Posted 27 August, 2012 Posted 27 August, 2012 I dont get head nor tail of that article! Anyone care to explain it? Something about people in Panerol dancing because they want more money. That's my jist on it anyway.
saintsmike25 Posted 27 August, 2012 Posted 27 August, 2012 "s reported by Gianluca Di Marzio, Gaston Ramirez is now a player of Southampton. Betancurt convinced the English club to pay 14 million for 70% of the card of the player. The deal apparently already closed. Ramirez during the day tomorrow will be in Rome for the visa, as immigrant. The Bologna still loses a key player and is a candidate to be one of the teams most at risk in the fight against relegation."

Saint Charlie Posted 27 August, 2012 Posted 27 August, 2012 Reckon there are just some minor details to sort, sure it will drag a bit longer but as long as its official by Friday then what a fantastic signing.
S-Clarke Posted 27 August, 2012 Posted 27 August, 2012 Reckon there are just some minor details to sort, sure it will drag a bit longer but as long as its official by Friday then what a fantastic signing. The most telling development for me today, is the fact that Bologna have moved for a new signing already.
itchen_dan Posted 27 August, 2012 Posted 27 August, 2012 http://translate.google.com/translate?hl=en&sl=&tl=en&u=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.tuttomercatoweb.com%2Fbologna%2F%3Faction%3Dread%26idnet%3DemVyb2NpbnF1YW50dW5vLmNvbS02NzAw Market Bologna: the advice of the fans to the company 27.08.2012 19:21 by Simon Minghinelli for zerocinquantuno.com article read 167 times Photo © Giuseppe Celeste / Image Sport It is now almost official, Gaston Ramirez was transferred to Southampton. The British, for 70% of his card, will pour into the coffers of Bologna, a figure that is around 14 million euros. Positive note, a player ungrateful, capricious, not attached to the shirt and with a sympathetic prosecutor as a punch in the eye had decamped. Negative: that player was, together with Alessandro Diamanti, the best team, a real value added almost impossible to replace. Some work in entry but this must while to finish it, as long as the money made from the sale of Uruguayan playmaker will not be used almost entirely to fix the finances of the company. etc etc etc
Saint Charlie Posted 27 August, 2012 Posted 27 August, 2012 The most telling development for me today, is the fact that Bologna have moved for a new signing already. Yep, from reading again the missing piece is that 5% of the fee should go to Penarol for training him but perhaps Bologna also want a piece of that. Either way it's just that then the work permit which should be a formality.
ottery st mary Posted 27 August, 2012 Posted 27 August, 2012 Did not see him yesterday but he was only OK v Man City was hoping for better I have been trying to coach Morgan for some time now.. Some of my fellow posters keep getting in the way and want him running all over the field like a headless chicken:? Nige and meeee want him back in his better role as the anchor /LYNCHPIN controlling the middle and starting us on our forward attack to the oppsition... He has the talent and the game wioth some improvement to be our main man in the middle....BUT:uhoh: Maybe Nige and Meee have more work to do with him and a few others.. Could you lend your support please John:p Ramirez will help ..of that I am sure...
VectisSaint Posted 27 August, 2012 Posted 27 August, 2012 Did not see him yesterday but he was only OK v Man City was hoping for better He was one of our better players Saturday, though that's not saying much, along with Lallana and Guly. Unfortunately with Davis not fully fit and Cork injured the MF is currently lightweight to say the least and a lot of responsibility is falling on Morgan as a result. But his ability to break up the play of Wigan time and again is very important, and I was shocked when he was once dispossessed, as it is so unusual. I think Ottery's coaching is working well.
itchen_dan Posted 27 August, 2012 Posted 27 August, 2012 I dont know what this means or what the next few days are gonna hold... DL_corriere: the battle for gaston #ramirez is still on .. i'm really tired.

shurlock Posted 27 August, 2012 Posted 27 August, 2012 (edited) Relax ffs. Sure the battle reference is simply in relation to how drawn out and exhausting the deal has been, not any new complications or curveballs. Every i is being dotted and t is being crossed in blood. Edited 27 August, 2012 by shurlock
Avenue Saint Posted 27 August, 2012 Posted 27 August, 2012 Some more haggling tactics over final details (what a bunch of depressing sods) or has there been some actual late interest from another...? Reckon it could be spurs. Either way, we need to act real smart now and try and get some commitment to the sale done ASAP.
itchen_dan Posted 27 August, 2012 Posted 27 August, 2012 OH FFS!!! DL_corriere: rumors: no deal completed between #southampton and #penarol for #ramirez. very complicated situation. #bolognafc now waits

Thedelldays Posted 27 August, 2012 Posted 27 August, 2012 IF these tweets are correct...how bloody annoying
Avenue Saint Posted 27 August, 2012 Posted 27 August, 2012 Bologna want a slice of the penarol cake TOO I reckon...

Saint Scott Posted 27 August, 2012 Posted 27 August, 2012 I thought a deal was already agreed with them and Bologna was the issue?
shurlock Posted 27 August, 2012 Posted 27 August, 2012 What the hell? This is just an fing joke Relax Bodge.
Asaint4ever Posted 27 August, 2012 Posted 27 August, 2012 FFS. What is wrong now??? As quoted this morning! It's all stalled over Ramirez wanting shirt number 7
itchen_dan Posted 27 August, 2012 Posted 27 August, 2012 DL_corriere: i've never seen such a complicated deal like #ramirez one is. as i told, too many parts are involved
madruss Posted 27 August, 2012 Posted 27 August, 2012 This is what happens when every step of the negotiations are made public. Damned Italian reporters with their every over-reaction to each leaked bit of news broadcast to all and sundry
Saints foreva Posted 27 August, 2012 Posted 27 August, 2012 Knew there would be another twist. No surprise that people on here assumed it had been completed (again).
goneawol Posted 27 August, 2012 Posted 27 August, 2012 It 'a matter of detail. Between Bologna and Southampton just missing, should be solved the latest rates. Yet to resolve the issue of 5% of the premiums of training, reward the teams that have grown player. The largest share will go to Penarol. There are about 600 thousand people dancing, the Penarol not want to give up the money. The Bologna does not want to pay this amount, the Southampton has already made an effort to get to 14 million for 70% of the card. So this situation should be resolved. Gaston Ramirez also need a permit from the Football Association extraordinary because it is outside the EU, as did 75% of the international game last season as normal. Also because no matter the appearances for the national Olympic team. This permit may be required only in negotiations concluded, must be defined before the 5% of the premiums of training, which are mandatory for the FIFA. It 'sa race against time, Ramirez wants Premier http://www.gianlucadimarzio.com/calciomercato/ramirez-southampton-le-ultimissime/
Avenue Saint Posted 27 August, 2012 Posted 27 August, 2012 This is what happens when every step of the negotiations are made public. Damned Italian reporters with their every over-reaction to each leaked bit of news broadcast to all and sundry This...
maysie Posted 27 August, 2012 Posted 27 August, 2012 So basically, (we think) a fee was agreed for Penarols 30%, but we couldn't agree a fee with Bologna. To counter this we decided to pay the amount to Penarol to Bologna as an addition up front and then to provide a sell on fee clause to Penarol, meaning that our initial outlay is around the same. Problem now being that Penarol won't agree to our new terms? Question is if this is the case, why the hell didn't we sound out Penarol first? Have I followed this correctly?
shurlock Posted 27 August, 2012 Posted 27 August, 2012 (edited) Terms have been agreed with player, a fee has been agreed with his present club that owns 70% of the player...the hard work has been done, Edited 27 August, 2012 by shurlock
ottery st mary Posted 27 August, 2012 Posted 27 August, 2012 Who guessed March 2013 in the poll for the signing of Ramirez:p

modern matron Posted 27 August, 2012 Posted 27 August, 2012 If we don't sign this bloke then NC/NA better have a good explanation or we will look bloody stupid. I've been watching saints since 1970 and have never experienced anything like it!

I reckon, there's a fourth Uruguayan party involved who are after 5% of the total sale price. Perhaps sharing the interest albeit as a lower percentage of that belonging to peranol
