Crazy Diamond Posted 27 August, 2012 Posted 27 August, 2012 100 pages for a player that most posters have never seen play, but are really excited about. We do need creativity though and if he can provide it and is worth the fee and the hassle, I look forward to his debut.

But also he will be our most expensive signing in our entire history by absolutely miles so you can see why there is interest on here.
shurlock Posted 27 August, 2012 Posted 27 August, 2012 But also he will be our most expensive signing in our entire history by absolutely miles so you can see why there is interest on here. Being a man of deep principle, I'm sure you'll reserve judgement until you've seen him play
Roger Posted 27 August, 2012 Posted 27 August, 2012 Any news on the official announcement that was supposed to be made at 1230?
hypochondriac Posted 27 August, 2012 Posted 27 August, 2012 Being a man of deep principle, I'm sure you'll reserve judgement until you've seen him play According to most on here you aren't allowed to have an initial judgement on a player before you have seen him play...
shurlock Posted 27 August, 2012 Posted 27 August, 2012 Any news on the official announcement that was supposed to be made at 1230? Lambert's been sold for goodwillie and £4m (in installments).
pap Posted 27 August, 2012 Posted 27 August, 2012 Reverse psychology my dear Bearsy.................................. Plus the Fat Lady has not been seen in her dressing room running up and down through her scales!!! So keep your powder dry for a little longer. I pick you as the "no bloke" I will own
mynameisthehulk Posted 27 August, 2012 Posted 27 August, 2012 According to most on here you aren't allowed to have an initial judgement on a player before you have seen him play... Makes sense?
Jonnyboy Posted 27 August, 2012 Posted 27 August, 2012 Apparently he's hooked up with some bird he met at a hairdressers in Texas! There was a nice bikini pic but the mods came all over it!
Bearsy Posted 27 August, 2012 Posted 27 August, 2012 That's a great suggestion. Given the numbers, each of the "yes" crowd will own slightly more than one of the no crowd ( 42% vs 58%, basically ). How do we handle the fractional component? Some kind of timeshare ( you own hypo for a week, then someone else gets him ) or even some kind of mind-share ( each yes man taking in a proportion of no man's personal prejudice). Which no bloke will you adopt, Bearsy? It'll be like school football, all the yessers are captains and we'll each pick a no-er and all the fat kids no-one wants will be sad leftovers sat on the sidelines eating their packed lunches. I was gonna have Tokyos but he's already my b!tch (check his gay avatar!) so I'm gonna have Glasgow.
milton_saint Posted 27 August, 2012 Posted 27 August, 2012 Gaston sounds like a Belgian name like the comic strip! http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gaston_(comics)
Judge_B Posted 27 August, 2012 Posted 27 August, 2012 Not letting this thread go without posting in it somewhere. Well done everyone
dubai_phil Posted 27 August, 2012 Posted 27 August, 2012 Not letting this thread go without posting in it somewhere. Well done everyone Still didn't get the 5,000th word in though
pap Posted 27 August, 2012 Posted 27 August, 2012 Gaston sounds like a Belgian name like the comic strip! http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gaston_(comics) That part of the world is a real mix. Shame we're on such bad terms with the Argies really. Buenos Aires is often referred to as the Paris of South America.
John Boy Saint Posted 27 August, 2012 Posted 27 August, 2012 I pick you as the "no bloke" I will own Awwww how sweet: I accept!! Xx But you do know if it all goes awry the role is reversed!!
itchen_dan Posted 27 August, 2012 Posted 27 August, 2012 TouchlineDrama: Edward Piñón, the editor of respected Uruguayan newspaper El País, has confirmed that Gastón Ramírez is this time indeed Southampton-bound.
itchen_dan Posted 27 August, 2012 Posted 27 August, 2012 Mousse81: @Zoggers87 The last detail is a deal between Southampton and Penarol. Deal Southampton-Bologna seem done.
DrZuess1979 the 2nd Posted 27 August, 2012 Posted 27 August, 2012 I think NC deserves a lot of credit for getting this transfer through . We ve all seen what happens when players/clubs/agents go public
SNOWY Posted 27 August, 2012 Posted 27 August, 2012 So how will he fit in to our current 4-3-3 formation? Hopefully in the centre allowing Lallana to play further foward?
dubai_phil Posted 27 August, 2012 Posted 27 August, 2012 So how will he fit in to our current 4-3-3 formation? Hopefully in the centre allowing Lallana to play further foward? Lol
david in sweden Posted 27 August, 2012 Posted 27 August, 2012 100 pages ? Jesus christ ........and to think the thread only began less than two weeks ago ......feels like a month already !!!
pap Posted 27 August, 2012 Posted 27 August, 2012 Reopen The poll I hope you enjoy the remaining free speech that you have, Glasgow. Bearsy will own you when Gaston signs.
SNOWY Posted 27 August, 2012 Posted 27 August, 2012 Thanks Lazlo, if he signs I'll take all the credit!
itchen_dan Posted 27 August, 2012 Posted 27 August, 2012 Mousse81: #Ramirez update: the deal between Bologna and Southampton seem closed. Now Saints have to close the deal with Penarol.
Lazlo78 Posted 27 August, 2012 Posted 27 August, 2012 200 pages? But how? Mousse81: #Ramirez update: the deal between Bologna and Southampton seem closed. Now Saints have to close the deal with Penarol. Ahhh, there you go!
BadgerBadger Posted 27 August, 2012 Posted 27 August, 2012 He better be good with everyone virtually coming in their pants over him, let's hope he has big shoulders
Faz Posted 27 August, 2012 Posted 27 August, 2012 Mousse81: #Ramirez update: the deal between Bologna and Southampton seem closed. Now Saints have to close the deal with Penarol. I thought we'd done that?? Perhaps the whole merry go round needs to start again. Nexte tell GR that he'll be a guaranteed starter with Saints, and we'll pay him an improbable amount of money. He'll shoot his mouth off on twitter, the Bologna Presiedent will get the hump and we're back to the drawing board. I'll go for page 200.
dubai_phil Posted 27 August, 2012 Posted 27 August, 2012 What's so funny? The 5,000th post was the 1,000th (near as dammit) asking the same question about 4-3-3 that has already caused so much in fighting and embarrassment for some on this thread. In the early days of the PTS people got burnt at the stake for such blatant padding Nothing more sinister than that, just happy memories of early PTS
Dig Dig Posted 27 August, 2012 Posted 27 August, 2012 100 pages for a player that most posters have never seen play, but are really excited about. We do need creativity though and if he can provide it and is worth the fee and the hassle, I look forward to his debut. We need a jimmy case type player more IMO
Jimmy_D Posted 27 August, 2012 Posted 27 August, 2012 I should start up a business selling F5 keys...
pap Posted 27 August, 2012 Posted 27 August, 2012 He better be good with everyone virtually coming in their pants over him, let's hope he has big shoulders Why does he need big shoulders? Is it your expectation that people will wipe their dirty pants on him?
Glasgow_Saint Posted 27 August, 2012 Posted 27 August, 2012 I should start up a business selling F5 keys...
JustMike Posted 27 August, 2012 Posted 27 August, 2012 Thanks Lazlo, if he signs I'll take all the credit! It's your fault we lost to Wigan, something about rolling up your trouser legs!

I asked because I've never seen him play. I was just lucky hitting the big 5000.
milton_saint Posted 27 August, 2012 Posted 27 August, 2012 interesting! yes, good point. Lots of old world emigration....and with all their passion for the beautiful game! That part of the world is a real mix. Shame we're on such bad terms with the Argies really. Buenos Aires is often referred to as the Paris of South America.
