Blackpool boss Ian Holloway said on Saturday he would report an unnamed Premier League club for an illegal approach for the 21-year-old. We've had a conversation with the chief executive and I've spoken to Ian Holloway myself ” Nigel Adkins But Adkins said the Saints made their interest known a long time ago and have done nothing wrong. "We do everything properly and by the book," Adkins told BBC Radio Solent. Phillips was one of the stars of Blackpool's run to the Championship play-off final last season. Holloway told BBC Radio Lancashire: "Somebody has made an illegal approach and we can prove that. They should do things correctly, so I'm not happy. "The Football League and the Premier League will be informed about that." Adkins admitted that Southampton are interested in the player, but added that any illegal approach had not come from them. "I know our chairman has tried to contact Blackpool's chairman," he said. "We've had a conversation with the chief executive and I've spoken to Ian Holloway myself. "We will conduct our transfer business privately behind the scenes. Obviously this situation has now arisen and we will take action on that and respond in the appropriate manner." Sorry if this has been posted already- Just seen it's been covered in the Transfer threat, albeit Adkins has now come out and said 'it wasn't us'.
