Saint in Paradise Posted 12 August, 2012 Posted 12 August, 2012 North Korea has asked the UN to condemn an alleged terrorist plot by the US and South Korea to discredit Pyongyang by blowing up a statue of the late Eternal President Kim Il-sung. The alleged plot first surfaced in mid-July, when a man identified as Jon Yong-chul gave details of his plan to demolish statues with a remotely controlled bomb in a press conference in Pyongyang. He claimed South Korean and American agents paid him and sent him across North Korea’s border with China to demolish a Kim Il-sung statue in a nearby town. He was caught during a reconnaissance mission as he was trying to return to China, he said. http://www.rt.com/news/north-korea-terrorism-complaint-469/
hypochondriac Posted 12 August, 2012 Posted 12 August, 2012 What would they gain from blowing up a statue?
buctootim Posted 12 August, 2012 Posted 12 August, 2012 What would they gain from blowing up a statue? MKake it look like there is internal opposition to the regime, possibly encouraging a revolt.

for_heaven's_Saint Posted 12 August, 2012 Posted 12 August, 2012 What would they gain from blowing up a statue? You'd be surprised at the effect a statue can have on morale...
